Ten years ago on this date I sat on my front porch waiting for my parents to arrive. Katie played with her plastic kitchen while I rocked in the white rocking chairs feeling twinges of what was to come. As my parents pulled up the driveway and open the van door, I knew it was time to leave for the hospital. We drove in to Ottawa and called our friend Annabel to come and witness the birth. She was the experienced mother that every new mom needs, it was a mentoring relationship where she told me all the wonderful things and not so wonderful things about being a new mom. To this day I say 'do you want some cookies, cookie pie' which was one of the things she would say to her boys. AndiePandie came into the world with only 3 pushes, she was petite, pink and precious. We called her our butter bean. It was a perfect birth with no complications, I was ready to go home just hours after she arrived. Today she is a tenacious leader with a soft heart. Andie enjoys every moment of her life & pushes herself to her physical limits at every chance. She challenges, questions and needs to find out the 'why' in every situation. Fairness is key. I love her to the moon and back. Happy almost birthday Butter Bean.
