McLain winning the week 1 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix

Literally every time I’ve seen McLain ride at a show (and usuaully win, of course) he’s given his big ribbon to a young fan. It’s so heartwarming.

He does! At WIHS last fall he won the President’s Cup with HH Carlos Z. During the victory gallop there was a young girl with her older sister at the rail. She was cheering and had the biggest smile. The sister had a camera. The little girl was very frail and seemed to have recently gone through chemotherapy. McLain went right to her and draped his newly awarded champions sash over her shoulders and blew her a kiss. She was ecstatic. The family was in tears they were so happy. It was such a generous act.
