Whats so funny about this scene, this episode is that he just shows up drunk and acting like an ass to a parent teacher conference, for a kid he just tried to kill a few days, weeks ago. After Elena tried to be strong and let him go, he comes sauntering in so can get more chances in with their ron de vu, not really giving a shit about the reason they’re there, obviously. I’ve been in that position; no matter how much a part of you wants them, wants to stay with them, you gather strength to move on and they just keep infiltrating everything in your life. At first it is consuming, but then it gets very frustrating and down right annoying.
This is the only reason i’ve had strength to endure this season. Because i’ve understood the story Julie Plec was telling (dont like it, or the way she did it but) It’s a story we can all relate to, falling for the bad boy. It’s hard and it hurts but it can be fun and really great.. And then really bad. It’s a part of life that we all have the right to give into because it’s a moment we can just be bad, feel great, and not give a shit. But it’s more a life lesson than anything else. Letting go is just an in the moment thing, you can’t let go for ever. Everything falls apart, you start to loose who you are, he starts ruining your life, everything has less meaning to you and then all of a sudden the other side of the grass never looked brighter. You began seeing pictures of a better future, and now with more experience in life you can see things on a greater scale and clearer than ever before. You began having something to really look forward to in life, a better you, happier than you have ever been able to be before. And you can’t expect anyone to have respect for the lead if she doesn’t find the strength to get out of that relationship. Even though it was fucked up what she did to stefan, her falling into a bad relationship, I don’t blame that part, but she needs to find the strength as women and tell him to fuck off, moving on is possible. Even though that story is messy, it will be telling a story of strength once she moves on. So I get it.
Stelena is the other side of the grass. It may not be something we can all relate to in real life but it’s def something we all dream to have; this unearthy connection with someone, pure deep love, respect, someone who works with you not against you, someone who makes your life easier for you, someone who truly loves you.
I mean when you’re getting your life threatened everyday in this supernatural world, why would you want to invite that into your bed as well? Specially someone like elena who doesn’t thrive on that stuff but instead thrives on love and compassion.
So as I understand the story, point is taken; Lets move on. I’ve had enough life altering wrecks from this show to last the entire series.
