Transit People
We as a human race have become too transit. We were perhaps to live in a world that was too big for us, too large to span in a lifetime. We were to know only what existed within our realm and nothing more. We were to meet who we met and live in one place growing a life and existence that couldn't be disrupted because we were trees, deep roots and thick bark. We were to never know what more was there because once we know everything changes. Our roots weaken and we thirst for something more, something deeper, something further away.
We became people that packed our bags and moved our destinies from one spot to another. We've met too many people, broken too many connections, made too many memories with faces like city streets and crumbling buildings. We've learned too much.
The idea of soul mates came from being transit people, being capable of seeking out something beyond the comfort of the walls of "always been." And here in the small world we've already become too late. We go about and meet new souls that perhaps were old souls we'd known in some other place. We all got tangled somewhere and here we are in the wrong time, in the wrong dimension wanting, longing, pleading because it's really too late for all of us.
Why do we live in a time of small worlds? They only break our hearts more because now we can know, there's something more out there and we can't have it, we can't touch it, we can only remember a life that came before where perhaps the world was big and we loved each other recklessly.
