Summary: After seven years aboard Voyager, Vorik returns to the Alpha Quadrant to find his family and home irrevocably changed. Confronted with the passage of time, the absence of loved ones, and the haunting truth of Sito Jaxa’s death, he struggles with grief, guilt, and the emptiness of lost years.
DS9 A-plot: The station is overrun by an unknown computer virus, shutting off all power. Situations are dire, and no one can figure out anything about it- except that it originated from within Captain Sisko’s quarters…
B-plot; Jake “accidentally” clicks on a “Hot Bajoran MILFs in your area!!1!” ad and now something’s up with the lights
"Mariner x Locarno, Burnham x Lorca, B'Elanna x Vorik, and Khan x Marla are my guilty pleasure ships. I'm not saying these guys deserved a happy ending because frankly, the women deserve better, but I do like said pairings for the character dynamics and interactions."
Hi hi sorry just thinking about odo's visible terror in the alternate at the suggestion that he might be put in a zoo and then that bit earlier in necessary evil when gul dukat is talking about how odo was brought in to entertain cardassians with neck tricks and odo's uncomfortable remark that they trained him on those for weeks
I think people really underestimate the level of Trauma Vorik sustained being teleported from the alpha quadrant to the far end of the delta quadrant. One might think yea but everyone on voyager suffered the same fate. It's not the same though because Vulcans have psychic telepathic bonds with their family so not only was Vorik thrown like 60k lightyears or whatever across space but those bonds would have all just suddenly broken or been stretched so thin as to make them effectively nonexistent. I think a similar type of thing happens when someone a Vulcan has a telepathic link to dies. So, in a sense, this likely would have felt like like everyone he knew just died suddenly. Vorik is also the only Vulcan on voyager besides Tuvok who he seems to have nothing in common with; where as most if not all other crewmembers have at least a couple other people that share their culture and understandings which lessens the pain of being so far from their home worlds.

Pt. 1- Singularity (1/2)
Vorik was certain he had never heard such an illogical admission as that in all his life. Was she toying with him? No, she would never make light of a serious matter in this way. She must have been mistaken, that was it. There had to be some misconception on her part- that his demonstrated attraction to her could be so grossly misconstrued was incomprehensible to him. The things she was saying simply did not align with the reality of her situation. If anything, his barely concealed desperation to obtain her interest must have smothered any attraction she had towards him.
Despite what he thought was obvious fallacy, she believed herself unwanted by him. Illogical. His mate was a picture of Shi’ka’ri, her beauty and her mind were unmatched by any other being he had ever perceived.
“Illogical.”
His admission must have surprised her, as her thumb paused in its path across his cheek. He reached out to allow his mind to brush against hers- confusion over what he had said, embarrassment that she had allowed her feelings to spill over, and beneath it all a chasm of hopelessness. Vorik could not understand her emotions- was his fidelity to her not obvious? Did she truly not see? His hands came up to grasp hers where they still held his face. He turned his gaze upward to meet her eyes, and he was certain his desires must be visible on his face.
“You are being illogical, my k’hat’n’dlawa."
“What?” Clearly his words had only puzzled you further, he could sense it in your thoughts from where your hands touched- his trembled.
“Half of my own heart, that is what k’ha’n’dlawa means. To believe yourself undesired, unwanted, unloved, is beyond illogic. I have been trying to demonstrate my interest in you as a prospective mate for some time now, surely you can not have missed it? My conduct towards you has been far from proper for far too long. You speak of your appearance and your mind as insufficient, why do such illogical thoughts present themselves to you as fact? I will not endanger the importance of what I am attempting to communicate with admissions of carnal desire, but I admit I am sorely tempted by you.” Vorik momentarily broke off to illustrate his point to you, tightening his grip on your wrists and dropping his head. No! His control must not desert him now, even if his inner beast wished to pull her forward by her thighs and prove he spoke the truth. She must not believe he spoke only of feelings rooted in physical attraction, she must understand what she was to him.
“I must confess I am surprised that you have not been more direct in attempting to dissuade my advances, though now I see our cultural differences have become a source of great distress for us both- I shall be more direct. At our first meeting, I knew then what it meant to fall into Shon’ha’lock- ‘love at first instance of sight’- translations do not accurately convey the meaning. My ashaya, is it not obvious taluk nash-veh k’dular? That I cherish thee? Have I not made my feelings clear before this day? Nash-veh ashau du, I love you.”
—
It was your turn for the world to stop.
“What…?” Was all you could muster from your thoroughly addled mind. Was any of this real? Was Vorik, the man you wanted more than anything, truly on his knees before you confessing his love?
It dawned on you as his deep brown eyes bored into yours that perhaps, you had been unable to see what was right in front of you. Inquires into your day, little things repaired without you having asked, lingering touches and the closeness he maintained when you walked down the corridors- you saw it all differently. Embarrassment flooded your senses for an entirely new reason. Now that you knew of his feelings, every moment you had spent together was cast in a different light. Specific memories flashed across your mind-
Vorik, reaching over your trembling hands to adjust settings on your console while the red alert siren blared in your ears.
Vorik, indulging your nonsensical holodeck programs late into the night when he could’ve been meditating
Vorik, going to every crew party and gathering only to stick by your side the entire time.
Vorik, allowing you to push him away to spare your feelings at the expense of his own.
“Ashayam?” That snapped you back into place, Vorik’s hands still grasping yours where they made contact with his face. He was blinking up at you, face as impassive as ever, but in his eyes you could see his anticipation.
“I…I love you. I didn’t think, I didn’t realize rather, that everything you did for me was going beyond the bounds of simple friendship for Vulcans. Now that I know that, I-”
“I am sorry to interrupt, but may I kiss you?” If not for the way his eyes dropped down to your lips, you would've thought he was making a passing comment about the weather. All you could do was nod silently, the anticipation building with every moment that passed.
Slowly, Vorik unclasped his hands from yours. He pulled your hands from his face and threaded your fingers together with his own. A Vulcan kiss. The zing of his mind brushing your own was instantaneous, electrifying. Despite it being his action, his eyes slipped closed for a moment in a clear effort to maintain his control. As Vorik rose from his place at your feet to lean over you, pressing you into the copilot’s chair, the world narrowed to a single impossible point. At the first tentative, inexperienced brush of his lips against your own, you gave in. Your immediate response spurred Vorik into another featherlight kiss, then another. It was the way you sighed in pleasure and leaned back in your chair, eyes still closed and your hands completely slack and wanting in his own, that pushed him over the edge.
His next kiss was almost bruising in its intensity, his grip on your fingers sliding down to your wrists and pushing them into the chair beside your head. Vorik kissed you like he’d never be given the chance to again, like nothing else in the universe mattered- not the mission, not proprietary, or protocol or logic- only you. The minutes slipped away as you lost yourself in his ardent affection, everything but him completely forgotten. With a final sigh against your lips, he pulled away.
“Ashayam,” He breathed, eyes closed and cheeks flushed a brilliant emerald. “If you will allow me, I will spend the rest of my days ensuring that there never comes another moment where you doubt my devotion to you. Never again will you suffer the thought that I am not in love with you beyond all logic and reason. Let the only tears you shed for me be those of ecstatic pleasure, and the tears of joy I know you will cry on our wedding day.”
“Always, Vorik, I will always want you. Please, love me and let me return that love in kind. Let me match every whisper of devotion with one of my own. Let me love you the way you deserve, please.”
The soft caress of his fingers against your own signaled his answer. His mind mingled with yours, thoughts intertwined, connected- forever.
