glazing Eren yeager
I find it strange that people find Erens physical form attractive but not his personality. Like what?? His personality is honestly one of the hottest things about him. Like he's driven, ambitious, brave, borderline fearless, hes a natural leader, able to motivate people to his side. Hes independent minded, prefers to be self relient and wants others to be able to rely on him, a hard worker.
He motivated a bunch of other recruits to join the scouts and he wasnt really even trying to do that. He motivated Jean to keep going when he was about to give up, hell he motivated mikasa and armin so much they basically never left him alone.
Eren was the first person to respond when the colossal titan appeared the 2nd time, didnt even flinch, just stood up again a 60 m tall monster and went for the kill.
Erens driven and motivated to move toward obtaining freedom. Hes motivated to kill the titan because they strip him of his freedom, hes later motivated to kill the outside world for the same reason even if he wont get to experience that freedom hell do it anyways because the people outside paradise are keeping him and his people caged; they took freedom from the eldians so he'll take theirs. Hes so ambitious and motivated towards this goal that he rallys a coup/cult following, infiltrates Marley, joins their milatary, cuts off his own leg and gauges out his own eye to get closer to that goal.
when hes not being a cult mastermind or jumping into battle he has this cute boyish charm and softness, he has a typical teenage boy kind of humor that I find endearing. Like when his squad told him about Petra pissing herself on their fust mission outside the walls and he asked her if it sprayed everywhere, or when hes he messing with his friends.
Honestly i could keep going but its already kinda pathetic send help
E//M fandom is sick
I just want start by saying that I don't ship jeankasa or erehisu.
Because people are too intertined with ship wars they ignored Jean married M1kasa and formed a family with her in the ending, so now that it was confirmed (it already was but y'know) this fandom is throwing tantrums again which would be """acceptable""" if it lasted three days at minimum since when it was revealed, but until today they're crying and using terrible and disgusting rethoric and I know very damn well they won't stop.
From a fandom that prides itself for loving M1kasa, always wanting the best for her, caring about female characters and fighting misogyny, the way they acted when it was confirmed again that M1kasa married Jean and started a family with him is beyond terrible. They don't care Eren fucking died they prefered M1kasa to never move on from him bc "muh huh love story" which is STUPID! They wanted M1kasa to revolve her life around Eren even when he isn't around for iterally no reason, so many men calling her a whore and unfaithful and this fandom who loves her is nowhere to be seen defending her especially because a big chunk of them AGREE with it. They will cry over folks calling M1kasa Eren obsessed, but the moment she chooses something for herself that isn't tied to Eren they go crazy and say it's ooc what the actual fuck?
M1kasa suffered basically her entire life she never actually rested since she was constantly protecting Eren all the time, and now she finally can live in peace, start a family with a man who loves her (yeah i don't ship jeankasa but is obvious Jean likes her) and start a family a thing that was stripped of her since young from all characters, she is the one with the best ending but to that fandom this is horrible because it would be better if she stayed griefing forever, if she stayed a virgin forever, if she stayed suffering forever, if she stayed alone forever to some of them even her dying would be a better ending because "she will find Eren :D" isn't this insane? Eren fought for freedom didn't he? This include M1kasa freedom from him, he would never fight to see M1kasa being miserable to the rest of her life!
This fandom throws around the word misogyny like monkeys who throw shit on others, but the moment you suggest a woman can move on from a guy especially a dead one they throw tantrums and say it's insulting for her character, they will try to do "women need no man to be happy" but is just because is the man THEY DON'T LIKE because at moment you suggest you don't like E//M or don't think Eren and M1kasa should be together they say "muh huh you don't care about women happiness, how can she be happy if there's no Eren in her life muh huh". The fact they think M1kasa can only be happy and have peace with Eren and litreally no one else already shows how twisted their mind is they cannot imagine M1kasa as her own as much they claim they do, no "women defender" would be so dramatic over a girl moving on and saying this is disrespectful to a whole character, you never see this bs with male characters I wonder why.
This^ I actually like Mikasa; which is one reason I dont ship her with Eren.

Going through the main Korra “critiques”.
“Korra is a Mary Sue.”
This is probably the weakest criticism to me. A Mary Sue is a character who’s unrealistically perfect so rarely fails and faces no meaningful consequences to their actions.
Korra is impulsive, stubborn, hot headed, spiritually disconnected, and often lets her emotions cloud her judgment. She loses her bending, loses her connection to the past Avatars, gets poisoned, develops PTSD, and spends years recovering from her trauma. She loses more major fights than almost any Avatar we’ve seen due to the strength of her villains.
Calling her a Mary Sue is not only inaccurate, it’s also reductive. It’s a label that’s disproportionately thrown at capable female protagonists, while equally gifted male characters are simply called “talented.”
“She dated her whole friend group.”
Did she?
She dated Mako as a teenager. Years later, after she and Mako had long broken up and remained friends, she began a relationship with Asami.
That’s two relationships.
Her going on one date with Bolin, a guy she was shown she didn’t like in that way, is not a relationship.
Meanwhile Sokka dates Suki, Yue, openly flirts with multiple girls throughout the series, and nobody claims he “dated the whole group.” Funny how that criticism only seems to stick to Korra. And people go as far as to label Sokka a “back bender”.
“She uses the Avatar State too much.”
People ignore context.
Korra’s villains aren’t random Fire Nation soldiers. They’re Amon, Unalaq, Zaheer, and Kuvira…arguably some of the strongest opponents in the franchise. Of course she uses the Avatar State. That’s literally what it’s for.
And the infamous race against Tenzin’s kids? It was an obvious joke. People act like she was using godlike power to win an Olympic event when it was a playful family moment. You can also see it as Aang pushing through for a moment with his grandkids.
“She’s immature.”
Yes.
She’s 17.
So are Toph, Sokka and Aang. Kids being immature isn’t bad writing…it’s called being young.
On top of that, Korra was raised in isolation in a secure compound, surrounded almost exclusively by adults and teachers. She never had a normal childhood or friends her own age. It would actually be unrealistic if she weren’t socially awkward and emotionally immature at the start.
The entire point of her story is watching her grow beyond that but I think that’s asking too much media analysis for these people.
“She loses too much.”
Isn’t that the exact opposite of being a Mary Sue?
You can’t argue she’s an overpowered and flawless character while also criticizing her for losing.
Her enemies are also far stronger and more complex than those Aang faced. Every season pits her against a villain who challenges what it means to be the Avatar in a changing world. The fights are supposed to be difficult.
“Aang is stronger.”
This debate is mostly subjective.
Aang and Korra were written for different stories.
Aang’s greatest strength was his spirituality, wisdom and ability to avoid conflict.
Korra’s greatest strength is her raw physical power, resilience and determination.
If we’re talking pure combat, Korra has a very strong case for being the stronger fighter. If we’re talking spirituality, Aang clearly has the edge.
Neither answer is objectively correct because they excel in different areas.
“She lost the past lives.”
This is another criticism that gets directed at Korra for something that wasn’t actually her choice.
The past lives weren’t lost because Korra was careless or incompetent. They were destroyed by Unalaq and Vaatu during Harmonic Convergence while Raava was literally ripped out of her. Korra fought to stop it and even managed to restore Raava, but the connection to the previous Avatars was already gone.
That’s a tragedy of the story, not a personal failure. Blaming Korra for it is like blaming Aang for the Air Nomad genocide. Sometimes terrible things happen to the Avatar that are beyond their control.
“Team Avatar was weaker.”
This criticism ignores the difference in what each series was trying to do.
Aang’s Team Avatar was made up of once in a generation prodigies. Toph invented metalbending. Katara became one of the greatest waterbenders alive. Zuko was a firebending master trained by dragons and her sister was a lighting bending prodigy. Sokka was a military strategist who was seen as outsmarting entire armies. (Idk how realistic that is but it is a kids show).
Korra’s team isn’t built around being legendary prodigies. Mako is a skilled lighting bender, Bolin grows into an accomplished lavabender, and Asami is a non bender whose strengths are engineering and intelligence. They’re capable, but they’re intentionally more realistic.
That also puts more emphasis on Korra herself. Unlike Aang, who often had teammates capable of matching elite opponents on their own, Korra frequently has to shoulder the burden of fighting the biggest threats herself. This puts more emphasis on the strength of the avatar. Her villains are also so dangerous that even her team can’t realistically take them on without her.
Rather than making Korra look weaker, it actually highlights how much responsibility falls on her as the Avatar also. Her team supports her, but they aren’t written to solve the conflict for her the way Aang’s exceptionally gifted companions often could.
“She is humanity’s destroyer”.
One thing people often forget is that every Avatar inherits the consequences of the previous one’s decisions.
Aang spent years cleaning up the aftermath of the Hundred Year War. Korra inherited a rapidly industrialising world where the role of the Avatar itself was being questioned. Every generation faces problems created by the last.
Now, with Seven Havens, we’re already seeing the cycle continue. Before the series has even begun, people are blaming Korra for the state of the world as if the entire point of Avatar isn’t that history is messy and every Avatar leaves behind both achievements and unresolved problems.
Avatar has never been a story where one Avatar “fixes everything.” It’s a story about an endless cycle of responsibility. Roku’s failures became Aang’s burden. Aang’s decisions became Korra’s challenges. Korra’s era will shape the next Avatar’s world.
If people only remember an Avatar for the mistakes they couldn’t prevent, then every Avatar has failed. But that’s never been what these stories are about. They’re about imperfect people doing the best they can in impossible circumstances, knowing the next Avatar will have to continue the work.
At the end of the day preferences exist and you don’t have to like Korra.
But calling her a Mary Sue, pretending she dated everyone she knew, ignoring the context of the Avatar State, criticizing her for acting like the teenager she literally is, and then complaining that she loses too much while also claiming she’s overpowered just isn’t consistent criticism.
You can dislike The Legend of Korra. You can prefer Avatar: The Last Airbender. But at least criticize Korra for what the show actually does, not for things that aren’t true. And that quite frankly are dripping in misogynistic stereotypes.
Parts of Eren and historias conversation about the rumbling is kinda halarious if you take things out of context.
Eren: hey, so, I'm gonna murder billions of people in about 9 months time. Just wanted to let you know.
Eren: oh you dont like that; well remeber you saved me that one time cause you're the worst girl in the world
Historia: ok, so anyways, what do you think about me having a baby?
LOL
Sleep deprivation rambley ramble rambles with maybe a point in there somewhere if you squint.
Yo so im watching an aot reaction right, and I totally forgot that when eren transformed move the boulder in Trost he trys to hit Mikasa not once, but, like, three, 3 times. Like specifically targets her. He literally does a 180 just to throw a punch at her and then pivot again to throw another punch, and itd not like she was the only person there and there wasnt any other target, there was, like, why is he targeting her hmmm strange.
People be like ""eren wasnt in control of his titan in that scene though, hed never try to hit her for real. "" or somthing i guess, .. ok but isnt it pretty much established that when Eren doesnt have control of the titan the titan does whatever his will was just prior to transforming. Like Hes raging about massacaring titans before his first transformation and what does the titan do? It goes around stomping titans.
And ...actually im not sure there actually another examples of eren not being incontrol of the titan after the Trost arc soo is that true (that the the titan does erens will) , i mean assume so 🤔
...Anyways, like eremika stans say that eren yells at mikasa and is mean to her early on because she keeps protecting/trying to protect him and he want to be the one to protect her and that frustrates him and like ok I can see that perspective but like then why does he try to titan stomp her 3 times? ( i was gonna say titan smash which would be more accurate, but other more urban more online usage of the word smash and my twisted perv brain wont allow it) 🤒🫤
If im right that the attack titan does whatever Eren's will is just prior to transforming that means that Eren had to have been raging like god damn mikasa f*k$@# 8it6# f*** cant catch abreak %$#! @^&*< thinks shes all that that cant do shit without her. Ill show her f4** 8!/&$ god i really just wanna punch her fu$!># ^&%_ ... im exaggerating here, i don't actually think eren was cussing out mikasa in his head but he wouldve had to have those thoughts or feeling in spirit. And it also explains why he specifically only goes after her and not anyone else on the elite squad, cause they were all there but he didn't target them at all.
So clearly Eren is not in love with Mikasa yet in this scene right, so now im wondering when that suppisedly happens.
This post is like the most rambly, directionless i mean when i started i had a direction but then i went off road a bit. And im not sure i landed at a point this was just my rambly sleep deprived thoughts.
I should try watching another show and getting obsessed with something else for a change....
... 😆 but 5 more years atleast! Or somthing, i thonk thats what they say on reddit 😆
Just wanted to remind everyone that Eren Told Armin he was willing to sacrifice them to do the rumbling
but this was his reaction to Hange mentioning sacrificing Historia.
I’m sorry everyone I am so fucking EreHisu pilled rn you have no idea
God, look at the way he looks at her. It look so romantic to me.
And Hange in the background like 'hmm I'm onto you'
And then later Hange tells Eren she was sure that he'd never sacrifice Historia.
Don't you think that we were deprived of the scene where Eren and Historia hold hands. Jean only said that and that's it (
hmm i think it would have been nice; I really enjoy chill scenes where characters just talk or like just spend time with each other where they arent on their way to a battle or somthing; like just normal human interactions. The erehisu hand holdy scenes would probably feed my erehisu brain. I think anime watchers got deprived since they cut out a lot of Eren and Historias interacts in the 2nd season.
I think I would have like to see more of that with mikasa and sasha too, cause you get little bits of their friendship but not much.
So a little bit more just regular interactions between characters i think would make it better. Eren and historia interactions are part of that.
Erens plan, table scene, the mischaracterization of Mikasa
So ive had the opinion that the ending of aot was retconned (that is it was changed fairly late in the game from Isayamas og vision and leaves questions like, whyy?)
That in mind, one scene thats had me confused is the table scene, you know where Eren tells Mikasa he hates her. like, why did he do that?
Because if we go with the ending we got well the explanation ive seen is either that eren did that to distance himself from his friends and turn them against him so that they would stop him doing a full rumbling. Which since the endjng is the one we got ive just been like ok sure.
So my question was if the ending was retconned why the table scene? What would be the original reason? And yo guys I have recieved a knowledge download.
Ok, Eren did that to mess is friends up so that they either wouldn't fight him or theyd be less effective in fighting him because theyd be screwed up emotional and not able to think clearly on the mission. Which makes so much more sence than the standard explanation.
Like think about it, Mikasa and Armin have never shown that they wont go against Eren if hes doing something they think is wrong. Alot of people with mischaracterize Mikasa, especially, as being this subservient girl that always obeyed Eren and did what ever he wanted but thats just not true. She was actually quite domineering; she drags him away from fights she doesnt want him engaging in (when she's able); She punched him when he was being mean to Armin; She tried multiple times to get him to quite his plan of joining the military; she orders him around, like she told him to stop talking and eat his food one scene. So Armin and Mikasa dont need Eren to do anything to get them to stop him from doing a global murder. They would think its wrong and find a way to stop him, that's it.
But he did do the table scene, and the result was that they were messed up and severely less effective in fighting him. He absolutely would have won if he hadn't brought Mikasa into paths to tell her that he actually does care about her, and tell her to move on.
Tldr: Eren told Mikasa he hates her and beat up Armin to make them ineffective in fighting him, since he knew theyd oppose his rumbling plan. This worked but was undone last minute by Eren bringing Mikasa into paths and telling her actually he does care.
did i mistake you for a sign from god?
(x)
💌🤤good God ❤️🔥
Historia angrily calls Eren a dumbass and a crybaby in the cave and tells him to shut up while angrily yanking the chains he is tied in, she later gets angry with Eren after he calls her out in the orphanage, and she gets scared of him when he tells her about the rumbling
Frieda was the only loving person Historia had in her childhood, and Eren is partially responsible for her death, Historia isn’t going to date the man who killed the only loving person in her childhood
so this is another one thats just been sitting in my inbox forever cause i couldn't be bothered; honestly I read it and I was like you know what im tired. Im not even sure i beleieve this is a legit argument, but im sure that there are anti erehisu people that think this way so ill assume it is.
So 1st point im pretty sure is in response to me asking where in the story does it show that History cant stand/dislikes/hates Eren (as was claimed by anon in a seperate message/ask (Im assuming anon and anon are the same person. im like 99%); anyway, these example dont show this. In the cave She yanks the chains cause shes trying to free him, shes frustrated that hes giving up and crying telling her to kill him (by eating him) Eren is clearly having a mental crisis here, he just learned that his dad killed her whole family and not only that got to experience it like he was the one doing it. Meanwhile, Historia was being manipulated by her dad who abandoned her and tossed her into the military for some reason,( im not actually sure why, to cover up an affair i guess) They are both in an emotion volitile situation so she yells at him calls him a crybaby and tells him shut up because shes desperate and frustrated. Not because shes angry ar Eren or because she hates him, remember shes trying to save him in this scene. In this same scene, basically right after all this Eren ask historia why shes doing this and she tells him " I may be humanities enemy but im your alley" which is not something you say to a person you cant stand.
I almost missed the orphange scene mention, Historia clearly is not angry with Eren in this scene, shes embarrassed. If anything this scene looks/reads like Erens actually flirting with her and she gets flustered. I dont actually think thats Erens intention here though, because Eren is actually dumber than door knob when if comes to romance. This is banter between friends that showed a potential for more romantic feelings in the future. That was my interpretation anyways.
I suppose you could interpret Historia reaction to Erens mass genocide plan as her being afraid of him but this would work better as an argument if in reaction to what Eren tells her Historia was like "Eren you're sick and im gonna do everything in my power to stop you!" and then she she does that but thats not what happened, instead she gets over her horror right quick and decides to colude with him by having a baby so the MPs cant fuck up his murder time playdate with Zeke by having her eat him (Zeke) right away.
I was actually in the middle of writing out why i think the second part (Eren being responsible fir Friedes death) is actually a fairly ok arguement but then i realized that actually its not. (I do that a lot) If Historia was like "i just cant support you cause you killed my sister Eren" that would be an understandable plot for her character to go down. Problem is thats not the plot her character went down. Historia doesnt know that Eren manipulated his dad into killing Friede so its irrelevant to whether she likes Eren or not. We could say that maybe she does know, maybe Eren told her during one of their hand holding sessions, but that would just mean that she knew Eren caused Friedes demise and chose to alley with him anyways.
also i want to ad to the point that Historia hates Eren because she yelled angrily at him and yanks on the chains hes .. chained up with.. ( theres gotta be better way to say that) anyways.. Mikasa literally threw Eren into a wall , she punched eren in the face, she picks him up and drags him around against his will, all in like the first 3 episodes. She also ridicules his dreams and basically just immediately doesnt beleive in him and tells him to give up. But noone points out these scenes and says see Mikasa actually hates Eren.
Soo this was entertaining (for me; hopefully for whoever reads this also) thanks anon
The difference in audience between fanfiction . net and ao3 is wild. Like on ao3 every comment is nice, the worst ive seen is something like "im not really a fan of this pairing but i like your writing style." Or "this chapter felt kinda slow" On ff the comments are like like " you clearly dont understand this character at all you effing piece of garbage i hope you die horribly god!" Or "you like x ship, you should effing kill yourself" Honestly, ive seen worse.
"Anti Palestine" tag, ok, thank you for showing that you support a genocide Israel is doing
this was sent to me, like, a hundred years ago but i couldnt be arsed.
Anyways, palastines poplulation has increased since 2023. Even in just the gaza strip the population increased. So yea i quess i do support the ""genocide"" Israel is/was (cause this was from a hundred years ago, remember) doing. Israel should do more ""genocide"" actually. Several countries are having birthing rate crisis, may Israel could "genocide" them too.
I have the EreMika tag blocked specifically to avoid it as much as possible because it reminds me of my own abuse. It's unironically triggering for me. EreMika is a toxic ship, and my main problem with that is how people jump through hoops to deny that it is. but it is and it's pretty obvious why:
1. That's his adopted sister, no matter if only for a year, no matter if it was on paper or not. sickos. she even acts like a sister. snitching on Eren was a classical older sister move, not a "i have a crush on this guy" move. you don't snitch on your crush that's not crush behavior. 2. over protection is actually incredibly psychologically damaging, and Eren shows all the signs of the psychological effects of Mikasa's over protection. Over protection is a form of abuse.
But I guess I'd be the only one noticing it since I know what its like to be overprotected and I see the same resulting behavioral issues I had as a result in Eren. Over protection is also technically a form of psychological abuse. Please properly tag your Eremika so i can avoid seeing it.
https://selectcounseling.com/how-overprotectiveness-toward-your-partner-can-be-harmful/
first one under "Psychological or emotional abuse": https://www.scie.org.uk/safeguarding/children/education/types-indicators-abuse/#emotionalabuse
what would constitute as overprotective behavior from Mikasa?:
- making desiscions on behalf of Eren, against his wishes. for example telling him to quit trying to be a soldier, menacing other girls such as Annie, Historia and in one of the games, Sasha too, when she asked if he wanted to go hunting and Mikasa decided to go hunting instead of him. - taking over and doing things for him. carrying crates without asking for permission, telling him to talk after he is done eating, et.c. she overwrites his autonomy. - isolating him from other girls, "protecting him from distraction." (shut up. controlling someone because of your own possessiveness and insecurity isn't cute.) - over monitoring, constantly checking up on him with "Ereh?", "Ereh!", "Ereh??", "Ereh!!" These kind of behaviors limited Eren's growth and hurt his self esteem, leading to him feeling like shit every time he failed at anything. he wasn't allowed to prove his own abilities to himself early on. His self-loathing stemmed from him feeling like an ungrateful brat for lashing out in defense of his autonomy. Because that's what the world sees.
His entire life has been about establishing his own freedom, his own autonomy, and you decide to ship him with Mikasa? Mikasa who immediately assumed he was being controlled when he did something she didn't like? dismissing the possibility of him doing any of that out of his free will? That's not ever gonna be a healthy relationship.
"sacred connection" up my ass, that shit is toxic as all hell and people always thinks its Eren who's doing all the harm. Eren is doing what he always did early on: reacting to the world around him! his behaviors are a direct result of Mikasa smothering him. that doesn't mean Mikasa didn't love Eren, it just means she loved him in the wrong way. sometimes love can become suffocating and can seriously harm someone, no matter what someone's intentions were. Mikasa's overprotection comes from her anxious attachment, which first and foremost comes from her trauma, but likely also comes, in part, to her rather isolated childhood before that. her anxiety leads to her needing to control Eren, to give HER a sense of security. basically she made Eren responsible for her emotional maintenance.
It bothers me, as a victim of this type of abuse, that no one realizes whats going on. It's damn near a textbook case of it too!
Mikasa might have gotten slightly better at times, but she still kept doing the behavior and overstepping at times. i can't forgive this behavior at all, because she caused so much of his insecurity to begin with. i hate how the fandom also treats Eren as if he isn't allowed to be an independent entity to Eremika. i see art of Eren all alone, without Mikasa anywhere in sight, still getting tagged as Eremika. i see people reducing Eren to Eremika. i see people erasing his autonomy. i get so so sad because it reminds me of what i went through with my mom. i had to cut off my mom so i could finally be allowed my own personhood. and that hurt like hell but i had to. it hurts to see how the fandom has no understanding of psychology and how these kinds of behaviors affect others... how Mikasa's protectiveness is glorified rather than looked at with a critical lense. Mikasa isn't evil, but i hate how the fandom treats her like some purity icon. wasn't the whole point of Ymir that she was just a person? not a goddess or a saint, or a devil or evil. just Ymir. just a lonely girl... and yet the fandom seem to have missed the entire point by glorifying Mikasa into some purity icon. thats not fair. thats a cruel thing to do to Mikasa.
this, to me, makes the mantis symbolism even more on the uncanny. stalking her prey her entire life until she kills and eats him. that is what the symbolism is. its not a mantis eating its mate, because its not another mantis. its a mantis eating a butterfly, which is, in japan, and many other places, symbolism for freedom.
its a mantis killing and devouring freedom.
