āIām sure they wonātā Rose had said, and the words stuck with him. Nils was very sure the same couldnāt be said for him, having to pick up not just one but three of his family members all at once as they flew in. The drive with Maeve to the airport was fine, but the ride home, with everyone shoved into the car as they were, seemed so much longer. It took about the fifth time one of his brothers whines about being able toĀ āfly fasterā andĀ āif we took to the air as birds this wouldnāt be so crowdedā for Nils to pull over and just let them shift an follow the car in the air.
āWeāre home my love!ā Nils called out, opening the door and leaving the luggage in the car.Ā āTerribly sorry if we took so long, and, well there are a few people arriving in a few short minutes.ā He nodded towards the window at the Ravens that cawed and flew down to roost on their patio.
āHey, Iām in the kitchen stirring the pot like you told me to. I still have no idea what youāre making but it smells deliciousā Rose says with a smile as she walks over to where Nilsā was and kissed him softly. Rose was in a nice casual dress and flats, her dress was a bit tight but it wasnāt to noticeable thankfully, though she was sure his sister had noticed and was going to make comments about her weight gain.Ā āWell i canāt wait to meet the rest of your family once they have arrivedā She said smiling a bit as she savored the moment she had alone with him.Ā
āItās just a simple potato soup, my darling. An old family recipe that is sure to delight this crowd weāre hosting at least. Very danish so I hope it wonāt be too European for your palate.ā Nils smiled as he looked down at Rose, his hand caressing her from his shoulder along her arm till he moved and rested it on the small of her back.Ā āMy family has already arrived actually, my love.ā Nils lifted his head to look outside their large back windows to theĀ āmurderā of crows gathered in the back. They cawed happily and hopped from lawn furniture.Ā āThatās them darling, right outside and being rude of all things.ā
