i like to think of shiftblr (or any shifting community really) as an airport, a place where we all hang out before everyone goes somewhere. some shifters go home, some go on vacation, some just go visiting a friend, but everyone’s getting on a flight and is in the airport for a purpose.

𑣲 signature style. & hair. people associate you with a certain style & aesthetic or clothing piece. everybody wants to emulate your style. the most insane & curated period accurate y2k / late 90’s wardrobe ever.
𑣲 effortless. there’s something laid back about your appearance. always look put together no matter where you go. outfits & styling & your belongings look very cohesive as if they’re apart of a set, even if they aren’t.
𑣲 the house. where all your friends come over, the ultimate party house, always has the best snacks, swimming pool, etc. everyone sees your home as the designated meeting spot. tuscan kitchen galore.
𑣲 collection. you have a collection of some sort. body sprays, nail polish, oversized sunglasses, fur lined hoodies, coach bags, juicy tracksuits. people associate you with that item / thing even if you grow out of it.
they keep a polaroid photo of you in their belongings, wallet, clear phone case, bag, etc.
when you feel unsafe, their touch can always give you comfort.
they don’t tolerate any bullshit towards you from anyone, if someone calls you out your name, disrespects you in any way possible, they’ll instantly put that person in their place.
they always make time for you, even on busy days or weeks.
you have cute nicknames for each other that nobody else can use.
your emotions are always valid to them and they never try to dismiss them.
when someone brings up your name they instantly get flustered, blushing, smiling, giggling, etc.
if you ever feel uncomfortable in a environment they’ll instantly get you out of it.
they always carry around items that they know you use on a daily basis, hair ties, chapstick, hand cream, etc.
a argument or a disagreement never ends with anyone feeling unheard or unloved.

the lady of house redwyne, otherwise known as lady desmona has the common traits associated from her house. red hair, pale skin and a slender body. her hair was often worn loose. or when she decided to style it, she wore it in styles that would suit her face best. desmona’s eyes are the color of the earth, beautiful to look at. easily to get lost in. it could be due to the playful look in them, or the lack off it. desmona is hard to figure out, even her parents can’t tell what she is thinking of. her personality is heavily influenced by her grandmother, olenna tyrell.
she stood slightly taller than most men, yet was short compared to the likings of her younger brother. who was a head taller than she was. she is known for her beauty, it was austere and soft. she possesses high cheek bones and a sharp jawline. her smile was playful, deceivingly so. once desmona knew what she wanted, she knew she could get it. while her body was slender, it was also gracious. jealously was a feeling many ladies felt once they glanced at her. desmona wielded her beauty akin to the likings of cersei lannister, the two women never met but desmona doesn’t think highly of her.

. . . i am writing as i believe the young lady vannier has the gift, thought abandoned to the ages, and i should like to see a grand maestor witness her. i have read the old books, the historical archive of the vannier bloodline, as far back as archives were kept and i believe we are witnessing the resurgence of magic in the vannier bloodline.
the young lady has fits of dreams, during which time none can wake her until she comes out of them herself. although not alarming in itself, and certainly not enough evidence of the favor of 'the watchers' returning, i have witnessed lady godiva descend into one of these fits while awake, with my own eyes. it is startling each time her waking dreams tell of an event that comes to pass. i confess, i have never seen anything quite like it. the young lady's eyes...
thought it is embarrassing to admit, i felt quite chilled to witness her last waking dream. the candles in the room seemed almost to burst, before being completely snuffed out. i can not be sure of it, but with the way the young lady was moving her hands, i am almost tempted to say she snuffed the flames herself, somehow.
moreover, i believe that lady godiva is beginning to learn to harness this... power, attempting to use it on command. for her age, it is truly remarkable.
please pass my request along, if you will, as lord vannier himself has already approved the study of his daughter. but i request you move with caution and discretion— i hesitate to learn what may happen to the young lady if word of her powers reach the south. . .

june 20th, 2006 📍 between wisconsin and new york
the back seat. the ac is blasting so it's cold as fuck, but the radio is turned down to a manageable level for once, which is good because i remember being exhausted. maybe it's the dreams, or the amount of divination i've been doing on a daily basis— between these monsters, finding john, going on the hunts he sends dean, all of sam's questions about jess and the demon and a million other things...
i wear the same clothes often. i keep what i can roll and pack tight into my bag, and there isn't a lot of room for things like pajamas when i could be using that space for something more important, so i slept in my current outfit.

the bandana is slipping off my head, bobby pins probably lost to the wind at some point. there's a leather jacket draped over me like a blanket as i lay (illegally) across the backseat, my journal still open and halfway underneath me. it all smells like leather and musky cologne and a little bit of gunpowder.
a few hours until we get to new york. there's some kind of killing happening around there, some couple that was slaughtered in their home or something like that. not even sure if it's a job yet. but that gives me a few more hours of sleep...
september 7th, 2009 📍 mystic falls, virginia
my sister wakes me up before my alarm even goes off, poking her head in and whisper-shouting my name until my eyes open, always worried im not going to give myself enough time to get everything done— the type a to my type b. the room is warm but i have a quiet fan going in the corner, blowing a cool breeze my way. i feel like i had weird dreams, but i can't remember them.

drag myself out of bed, stumble into the bathroom that elena and i share— her side of the sink is organized, all skincare and minimalist makeup, the fancy stuff saved for special occasions like prom or weddings. meanwhile, there's definitely dried toothpaste in the sink from me, my ring holder is overflowing, there's three bottles of perfume and two hairsprays and vivienne westwood earrings sunglasses on the counter and about a million black eyeliners strewn around.
i showered last night. teeth brushed. hair... mostly brushed. wipe my face off, chug a glass of water, stumble back into my room— i can smell coffee downstairs while i'm getting dressed, hear the door closing behind my sister as she bolts off to the cemetery again. a girl can never have too much jewelry, i'm convinced.

all dressed! now, to pack my bag... should it have been packed before the first day of school? probably. then, i can either make my bed, do my makeup, eat breakfast, or instead, spend some time scribbling in my sketchbook instead of doing anything responsible!
i'm pretty sure i already know what i'm going to choose.
