so yeah, hi.

decided to get the app for this or w/e, in hopes that i'll start updating this more often. (probably not) Basically, I've been feeling kind of depressed as of late. I don't feel like going into much detail here, but if you actually care, just let me know via Twitter and maybe I'll DM you my Skype name or something. I've just been kind of stressing because finals are due wednesday, and I have no clue where to start on my English paper. I can't really afford to fail any more classes, and if I do, my parents will probably kick me out.

Prismatic Status Update: 27, November 2012

After running into some problems with making the "Stick" power (the power that allows you to stick to and walk up walls,) I've decided to replace it with a different power. The power that will replace allows you to stay underwater for an unlimited amount of time (normally 30 seconds.) Also, while in mist form when using the "Flight" power, you will float to the top of any body of water.

Water will appear as bluish areas on the map. (Don't worry, I used a different enough shade of blue so it's not confused with teal or blue blocks very easily.)

While in water, repeatedly tap the jump key to swim upwards (think classic Mario-style swimming.)

Lastly, I've added sounds, a few visual tweaks, spikes, and checkpoint blocks that spawn you on top of them if you die. (Yes, these checkpoint blocks save both the gravity direction and the power you had when you first touch them, so no running back to get a power you lost!)

Prismatic (An Overview)

What is Prismatic?

Prismatic's gameplay mechanisms were originally from another project I worked on called "Chroma." In Chroma, the player had to navigate a series of Portal-esque levels using 4 different powers. Each of these powers affected how you traveled around the level. One power let you change the orentation of gravity VVVVVV-style. Another let you teleport, and yet another granted you a grappling hook. Liking this idea, I expanded on the concept, eventually adding 5 more powers for a total of 9.

Let's talk story.

In Prismatic, you play as Prism, the main character.

Prism is one of the few survivors of The Void Order's attack on his home realm of Spectrum. In Spectrum, color is life. It's up to Prism to restore the color that was stolen from the various areas of Spectrum in order to restore it to its former glory.

Powers:

Powers can be obtained by pressing the "Down" keybind while standing on a colored block.

Gravity

This power allows you to shift your gravity to either the cieling or floor, but you don't jump as high.

Ball

This power allows you to turn into a very bouncy ball! Bounce to new heights!

Teleportation

Hold down the "Action" keybind to create a Teleport Circle, move your mouse to where you want to teleport, and release the "Action" key to teleport! You can teleport anywhere where there's enough space. However, watch out! If your Teleport Circle touches a gray block, its radius will reset back to zero!

Grapple

Press the "Action" key to throw your grappling hook! You'll be automatically pulled toward the first surface it touches!

Speed

Holding the "Action" key lets you achieve blazing speeds. Useful for dodging traps and for covering long distances!

Sticky

Just as the name implies, this power makes you very,verysticky. This power lets you walk up walls! Be careful though. Jumping will detach you from the surface you're sticking to!

Sight

This unique power lets you see and interact with objects that would normally be invisible to you! Can't find your way up? Look for the nearest pink block!

Flight

A useful power that lets you travel horizontally in the air without losing much altitude. Great for crossing long pits!

Super MafiaDuDes - A Synopsis

Welcome to Super MafiaDuDes, a game that isn't supposed to make sense.

Your job is to defeat as many enemies as possible to achieve the highest score.

Score System:

As the game progresses, and your score gets higher, the enemies will become tougher and will deal more damage as a result.

Here are the enemies you'll be facing:

Basic Enemy ~ These guys will run at you and try to kill you! They deal damage on contact.

ElementalDuDes ~ These guys will sit there and shoot at you! They come in 4 varieties: Electric, Fire, Ice, and Chimera! Each has its own weakness! ChimeraDuDes will drop a special crate!

RocketMan ~ They're pretty shy, and will run away from you if you get too close. They also come in gold too! The golden ones drop lots of Munnies!

FlyingBastards ~ These little fuckers will dive-bomb at you if they get to close. They also have the chance to become a SpecialBastard, in which case, they'll drop a health crate!

MunnyMan ~ As you may have guessed, he's made of Munny! They run away if you get too close, but killing one will award you 50 Munnies!

Allies

Luckily, you're not in this alone. These guys have a chance of spawning, and will be more than happy to help you. Keep an eye out for them so you can watch their backs!

Items:

The object of the game is to collect crates and Munnies!

Munnies are dropped by various enemies, while crates are dropped randomly around the map!

There are 7 different kinds of crates!

Crate ~ Just your average box. Press the 's' key to open it and get a random weapon!

Special Crate ~ Like a normal crate, but it has higher chances of giving you a good weapon!

Health Crate ~ Touching one of these crates will heal you slightly!

HP Up Crate ~ Touching this crate will increase your maximum HP!

Safe ~ These store lots of Munnies! Press the 's' key to break it open and collect it all!

Chest ~ Chests are a great way to store crates! Open a chest with the 's' key and a whole bunch of crates will pop out!

Tinker Crate ~ This crate will modify your current weapon by giving it either new attachments, or a new element. Press 's' to open it!

Weapons:

Pistol ~ The weapon you start with. Not bad for killing enemies early-on, but you definitely want an upgrade.

Tommygun ~ A rapid-fire weapon that has some decent stopping power. Much better than that dinky little pistol you had.

Shotgun ~ More buck for your bang. It's a shotgun. It does its job.

Plasma Rifle ~ Reload time: the weapon. It's a fast-firing weapon that deals LOTS of damage.

Sawgun ~ Shoots deadly sawblades at enemies. It has a relatively small clip, but it's still powerful.

Antlion Rifle ~ Shoot the ground to create an Antlion Spire! It's great for area denial, but is a difficult weapon to master.

Cosine Rifle ~ Its bullets move in a Cosine-wave pattern. It's got great stopping power.

Rocket Launcher ~ Want things to go boom? This is your gun for the job.

My Current Project

So, in case you guys didn't know, I make video games. Well I at least help my friend make video games.

The project I'm currently working on is called Super MafiaDuDes. It's a side-scrolling shooter inspired by arcade-era shooters.

Blog of a Sick Person

Staying home isn't all that bad, I guess. Unless you're working on an essay, and you have writer's block. On top of that, I have a dog barking at me and a headache. At least I have Twitter and Steam chats to occupy my time. This cough is still annoying though.
