twitterâs death is so pathetic I donât even feel up for a crab rave
hey, do u/your followers have any fun/interesting estonian podcasts to recommend? ive been fighting for my life for Years trying to learn estonian properly n im hoping maybe This Will Fix Me (tho if you have recommendations of ones that r not in estonian, that's ok too)
Tbh most of our podcasts are treated kind of like radio shows? They are made by big companies or newspapers etc.
If you're into true crime there is "Eesti roimad koos Andres Anveltiga", a podcast that discusses various crimes and murders that have been done in Estonia (some unsolved, some not). The hosts are well-known journalist Dagmar Lamp and (as in the name) Andres Anvelt, a politician and former policeman.
I keep a(n incomplete) list of podcasts in estonian here on podchaser. But many are exclusively on youtube bc estonians trust google with their life.Â
I donât understand how people are optimistic about tumblrâs ceo podcast interview when he says the words âwe want to make tumblr powered by wordpressâ
I want to make it perfectly clear â anyone I see using tumblr live and supporting the tiktokification of tumblr I am blocking on sight

âI saw my whole life as if I had already lived it. An endless parade of parties and cotillions, yachts and polo matches. Always the same narrow people, the same mindless chatter.â â Titanic (1997) dir. James Cameron, Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater
Iâll tell you what, Iâll be here in 100 133 yearsâ time. If youâre here then too, itâll be because weâre friends. No other reason, right?
People review-bombing this is pissing me off. It's literally impossible to make a better adaptation of the source material, no-one cares that you hate people who are not straight white men.

Wish it had been 13 episodes per season. Looking forward to the secret bonus episode of which I definitely don't know any details about. Halloween month maybe?
I am actually very glad beyonceâs new album is finally in the hands of her actual fans
the complaining was unreal when it leaked yesterday. people personally offended everything she puts out is not tailormade for them personally. you were warned well ahead this is a house record. she canât make your new most favorite album every time.
and I donât even like house as a genre. but this is a well put together house record, itâs still her but reinvented. who else can do this after 10 records? not sure how many tracks I will incorporate into my playlist but beyonce is like one of the 3 artists who still understands the concept of an album, I am so tired of albums that are just a Pile of Songs From the Last 6 Years.
plus, this is the first album where I see tracks seamlessly blend into one. you literally donât notice when a now track has started unless youâre watching the seeker bar on the player. the songs are actually influenced by the other songs theyâre adjacent to. the sonic landscapes transition effortlessly. beyonce understood the assignment, like she does every time. her ambition is evident in the project and I really like sheâs still hungry like this after so many years in the business.
someone tried to be sassy saying âshe went for the LGBTQs and 30+ black women with this record huh?â youâre literally describing her fanbase.... your critique is that her fans will like it?
thereâs plenty of valid critique that could be leveled against her, such as that since a while ago none of her songs are perfomable by anyone other than herself. and not even in the way that mariah carey put in high notes not even she can hit anymore. beyonceâs lyrics just sound ludicrous from anyone elseâs mouth, itâs best not to even try. this will certainly hurt her long-term relevancy, both on account of accessibility to the next generations of artists and also rooting her music too much in the time it is released. the lead single on renaissance did make a vague gesture towards relatability but the rest of the album is about as lyrically universal as everything is love was.
itâs not everyoneâs cup of tea for sure but I think beyonce succeeds at what she set out to do: give everyone an hour-long break from living in the Plague Years
culturally, we are so unfair to mondays. you just hate going to work after the weekend reminded you what it means to be alive. tuesday is where the real demons live
the same person who cried to you on monday to solve their problem that hasnât been letting them sleep since friday and called you a âlifesaverâ will call again at 9:03 am on tuesday like âwhy the fuck isnât it done yet?? đ âÂ

yep, itâs not true that âgirlsâ mediaâ doesnât get modern adaptations and reboots, it does. just with way smaller budgets and also a strong implication that it needs to be fixed somehow before it deserves to be made at all.Â
boysâ stuff is made with such unbridled joy and they try to cram in as many homages and callbacks as possible, no matter how cringe it ends up being. many more online articles are written about easter eggs and âstuff you missedâ lists than about the actual story.Â
meanwhile, girls get the liveaction winx clubâŚ.. anything colorful or fun needs to be painted over with grimdark, franchises get gutted of all iconic features so itâs not offputting to the ââgeneral audiencesââ aka males because everything has to be also for them. and letâs age up the characters so we can have the girls show some skin for the camera. thereâs no respect for the source material or the audience itâs supposed to be nostalgic for. everyone involved seems a bit embarrassed to be working on the project.Â
