“Yeah, sounds like Sousuke alright!” A laugh bounces off his lips, concealing his rising embarrassment over the implication he thinks Souza is making. This conversation sure got awkward fast! The question causes him to pause momentarily, eyes rolling skywards in contemplation.

“To tell the truth, he was exactly the same. Maybe a bit less serious and uptight than he is here.” Understandably. “But still a good guy, y’know?” Sure, Sousuke looked like he was plotting someone’s murder 85% of the time, but that’s just the expression his face naturally fell into.

“I’m glad he’s making friends here, look after him ok?”

“Rin Matsuoka?” Why did that name sound so familiar to him? “Ahh. Sousuke’s friend, right? I’m Souza Samonji. He’s made mention of a Rin before. Sousuke seems pretty taken with you.” So why is he here? “Is there.. something you need?”

“Yeah, that’s right.” He’s not surprised this guy knows him, his name at least. Someone Sousuke hid candid shots of in his phone was bound to be a close enough acquaintance to be privy to some of his private life, right? Rin thinks so.

“Taken? I don’t think I’d put it like that, but we have been friends for a long time.”

“No, not really. Just wanted to put a name to the face finally.”

   Getting separated in the midst of a mid-apocalyptic scenario is something normal, as proven in some televisions program and alike. Still, experiencing it first hand is not something pleasant. To be away from Shamblers, Spectres, and Geists even just temporarily is breathtaking. Enishi knows it won’t last forever, minutes at last. Even so, he really hopes that something would be able to fend them off before it causes more harms or even worse… take someone’s life.

   He exhales a frustrated sigh at the thought alone and a cracking noise could be heard from one of the empty building he passed a few steps before. What was it? Should he run for his life? Or stay still just in case it is a Shambler? Just how disastrous his day will be!?

Rin’s no fighter, not beyond throwing his fists in anger during a heated argument against friends or rivals, certainly not against swarms of...things that look like they’ve crawled out of the realms of everyone’s nightmares. His only chance of survival, he thinks, is to wait the ordeal out, hidden. 

He takes refuge in the first building he finds, never staying too long in one place. When the moment comes for him to move onto the next safe space, his head peeks out from a doorway, looks about every direction three times over to make sure nothing nefarious is afoot before he steps out. All he can see is another person, a living person, and Rin breathes a sigh of relief. Finally, he’s not stuck in this on his own anymore, for now.

“Hey! Wait up.”

“What’re you doing out here on your own? You know, you should stick to the side of the buildings if you’re travelling or they’ll see you.”

So ..” Coins jangled about within the cup that was shaken in the direction of the passing youth, attempting to inspire some generosity as much as the blithesome smile upon his face was. “Spare some change?”

“Oh yeah? If you’re so cold why don’t you go back to the free room and board everyone gets assigned when they arrive?” Young he may be, but Rin wasn’t so easily taken advantage of--Especially not when he fosters a particular dislike for recreational drinking, therefor enabling the habit doesn’t sit rightly with his conscious.

“If you’re really thirsty, I don’t mind getting you a drink from one of the vending machines.” A fair compromise, he thinks.
