Things have calmed down for the inhabitants of Inkwell Isles after the events of the fight for the Devil's soul contracts, now dubbed "The Great Race". Now, the Devil had long since waved the white flag, Chef Saltbaker was serving his time, and local heroes Cuphead and Mugman were thanked for their service.
But how long can fame and glory last?
The brothers have since then distanced themselves from each other despite working in the same building, with Mugman now certified sergeant of police and Cuphead as a washed up detective. The two soon become wistful of their adventures 18 years past; until a string of suspicious activity calls them back to action. Have they bitten off more than they can chew? Follow these brothers-in-arms as they are forced to side with each other once more through mystic spirits, angelic scripts and possibly the fate of The Inkwell Isles on their hands.
