hii here's my humble contribution to the markjez peep show renaissance 👀 (x)
Mark: Jeremy's planning to sell the headline "Three-O Walcott" to a tabloid newspaper when Theo Walcott turns 30 and we've agreed not to argue whether that's a good plan.
Jez: It is a good plan.
Mark: I know.

Omg they were roommates......
trying to sell peep show to an audience in 2025 is so funny. it's like well it's kind of like always sunny. It's also kind of like a bunch of other britcoms you may or may not have seen. It's done by one of the guys who created succession and you can really tell that's the case. it feels insanely specific to its time but not in a nostalgic way. at times it is incredibly devastating. its style has never been successfully replicated. the two leads are best friends in real life. it's often insanely subversive but also toes the line a little too much to be outright politically condoned. it sometimes has some very important things to say. there is legitimately a piss drinking motif. it is not an exaggeration to say the main characters would die if they were separated for too long while also abusing each other in ways that are definitely illegal. like this show is absolutely bonkers insane!! the toxic yaoi is so potent and the men are infinitely interesting to look at AND analyze. peep show(2003) forever and ever amen
Series 4, Episode 3: ‘Gym’
Mark: Opposites attract.
Jeremy: No, they don’t. Not really. That’s just something that scientists and people in horrible relationships say.
A hypomania GPOY.
