I'm curious, if a Friendly Vine is raised by a host who abuses them, how would the Friendly Vine treat their host when they grow up? But okay other than that strange question, I have to say, I absolutely love Chiquita with all of my heart and she has risen to my #1 all time favorite character, thank you for creating her!! <3

It would actually be a similar situation as with a child growing up in an abusive household, except because Friendly Vines are sort of hardwired to be trusting and kind by nature, they would be even more susceptible to succumbing to abusive behavior. So rather than lash out, the Friendly Vine would become conditioned to be afraid, obedient, expect pain/cruelty, etc. Which is very sad :( 

That being said, ultimately Friendly Vines do still have an imperative to pass on their genes and survive to maturity, so if they were in a situation where the host abused them to the point of putting them in danger, they would try to escape somehow and find a new host. Friendly Vines tend to imprint on the first host they find, though, so this is rare and difficult.

So for one I love Chiquita she’s the best and I’ve reread the stories multiple times and I love them. And two I recently went over to my friends house for a couple days and they have Chiquita bananas and she offered me one like “do you want a Chiquita.?” And I froze for a second and had to remind my self that she was offering me a banana and not a friendly tentacle plant. ~Give Chiquita my love.

i just wanted to say thank you so much for the amazing chiquita series;; theyre honestly some of the best fics ive ever read. i Love tentacles but it's so hard to find tentacle fic that doesnt squick me out in some way. this series is the perfect mix of porny and heartfelt and ur writing is really phenomenal!!
