In hindsight, I strongly prefer the J.K Rowling method: You create a strong, memorable character, beloved by all, whose gender identity and sexuality are their own so important aspects of who they are can shine. Later on, after the fact, you say, “By the way, this character who you love was gay all along!” Meanwhile modern writers introduce character with their gay-SO/SOs, putting it at the forefront of every conversation they’re a part of to the point that I can’t even remember what their name is. I WANT to know who these people are! What are their goals, their dreams, their pet peeves, their favorite food, their hobbies, their fears...

Kumbali the cheetah struggled to gain weight when he born at the Metro Richmond Zoo in Virginiain May because his mother wasn’t producing enough milk for him and his two siblings. To ensure his survival, the zoo decided to hand-feed him from a bottle every few hours.

“We instantly fell in love with him, but Kumbali was in need of a companion,“ zoo staff said

The Cyrus the Great Cylinder is the first charter of right of nations in the world. It is a baked-clay cyliner in Akkadian language with cuneiform script. This cylinder was excavated in 1879 by the Assyro-British archaeologist Hormuzd Rassam in the foundations of the Esagila (the Marduk temple of Babylon) 

In 1971, the Cyrus Cylinder was described as the world’s first charter of human rights, and it was translated into all six official U.N. languages. A replica of the cylinder is kept at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in the second floor hallway, between the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council chambers.
