I’m sick of pretending my illnesses don’t make me so fucking depressed and hopeless for my future because this fucking sucks and there is nothing I can do about it.
And that really hurts.

Do people honestly believe fighting me on whether or not I get better is somehow going to make my situation ...better?
Types of Seizures
There are two main types of seizure (generalized and focal).
Focal seizures start in one specific part of your brain. They can cause physical and emotional affects and make you see/hear/feel things that aren’t there. Sometimes the symptoms of focal seizures can be mistaken for another mental illness or nerve disorder.
Generalized seizures happen when both sides of your brain misfire. These seizures can cause muscle spasms, blackouts, and falls.
Some people have seizures that start as one kind and then become another. These are unknown-onset seizures.
Generalized Seizures
There are six types of generalized seizures:
Tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures are the most noticeable. When you’re having a tonic-clonic seizure, your body stiffens, jerks and shakes, and you may lose consciousness.
Clonic seizures cause your muscles to spasm. Your face, neck, and arms jerk rhythmically. These seizures can last several minutes.
Tonic seizures make the muscles in your arms, legs, and torso tense up. These seizures are often very short and usually happen while you’re sleeping. If you’re standing at the time of the tonic seizure, you may fall.
Atonic seizures cause your muscles to go limp and your head may lean forward. If you’re holding something at the time of the seizure you may drop it, and if you’re standing you may fall.
Myoclonic seizures cause your muscles to jerk as if you’ve been shocked. These seizures may start in the same area as atonic seizures.
Absence (petit mal) seizures are similar to “zoning out”, with the difference being that absence seizures cannot be broken (you can’t snap a person in an absence seizure back to reality like you can with someone zoning out). You may stare blankly into space and your eyes may roll back into your head. These seizures only last a few seconds and are most common in children under 14.
Focal Seizures
Focal seizures are broken into three groups:
Simple focal seizures change how your senses read the world around you. They can make you smell or taste something strange and they may make your fingers, arms, or legs twitch. You may see flashes of light or get dizzy. You probably won’t lose consciousness, but you might feel sweaty or nauseated.
Complex focal seizures usually happen in the part of your brain that controls emotion and memory. You may lose consciousness but still look like you’re awake or you may do things like gag, smack your lips, cry, or laugh. These seizures usually last several minutes.
Secondary generalized seizures start in one part of your brain and then spread to the other side. They can cause some of the same physical symptoms as a generalized seizure, like convulsions and muscle slackness.

The diagnosis shouldn't matter.
If you can't walk, you can't walk and you deserve proper care and respect.
If you need medical help, you need medical help and you deserve proper care and respect.
If your mental health is declining, your mental health is declining and you deserve proper care and respect.
This rule applies to all symptoms both mental and physical.
Your diagnosis shouldn't dictate how people treat you or your symptoms. Your symptoms are valid, regardless of your diagnosis or lack of diagnosis.
You deserve proper care and respect.
People with tics do NOT have to suppress around you just to make you feel comfortable.
People with tics do NOT have to hold down a tic attack just for you to not feel uncomfortable.
People with tics do NOT have to suppress.
Suppressing is a shitty thing, when I suppress my tics, my whole body tenses up, I can’t talk because I’m afraid a vocal tic may come, I let small tics go because it can go unnoticed, I can’t focus on anything that isn’t suppressing tics, I suppress because I’m afraid people can look at me weird, say something bad, or bully me.
And yes, is a form of surviving in a neurotypical world, but it makes US have tic attacks, it make US tired, it make US feel like shit because we can’t unmask around people, we can’t be us with our tics.
So if you have a friend, family, anyone you know with tics, please, let them unmask, let them be free with their tics.
Life is so so much easier with them
