Still annoyed by the turn of events but unable to do anything about the situation, Gold counted off his fingers. One, two, threeā¦ Four? The cleaning method explained by Mei required four steps - that was two away from being uncountable by his standards.
Gold cast his hand away at the offer for more cake, grabbing his fork again at the sudden onset of hunger. He took a stab at the pastry and cut off a large piece, shoving it into his mouth before saying anything else. He looked over at a nearby clock on the wall that read ā6:55ā. Assuming he could finish his slave work by 9, he could still be on his normal 12-hour sleep schedule.
"Anā whatāll you be doinā in the meantime, sleepinā? Wonāt yā have tā make sure I actually do all this stuff youāre makinā me?"
Finally finishing sipping her tea and puffed their cheeks slightly as her lips met nothing but air, putting the cup on the saucer then proceeded to lift herself from the chair and stretch her body, removing the kinks.
"What will I be doing in the meantime? Of course I won't be sleeping- I was thinking of washing up the bowls Ā and mugs and then going off to do the counters and then the..." She trailed off with a few more chores that she listed on her fingers until there weren't enough fingers left, before raising an eyebrow at Gold, smiling at him kinder than she has before; "If you want I can hang out with you to make sure each thing is done properly and help if you need help?"
