Cassie walked into the infirmary, peeing at Audrey from behind the bear. It was dressed as a princess and was holding a box of chocolates. Cassie smiled at her friend and held out there bear. “Will you go to the dance with me?”

“You love me, and you know it,” Kate laughed. “Cass, look at this. My dad started texting me.” Kate held her phone up for her friend to see.

“Kind of.” She teased, sitting on the arm of Kate’s chair. She frowned and took her phone, scrolling through the messages. “I didn’t even think he knew your name.”

“Well, if you ever need me to-” Kate smacked her fist into her other palm with a grin. She sobered slightly. “Do you know why he left?”

Ellie laughed and rolled her eyes. “He’s a hero, he had other things to do. We still talk all the time.”

“Cassie….” Forget the car… Jax placed the tools he was using on the ground before standing up to look at her. It had been a while and Jax wasn’t sure what Reaper might have done to her while he was in control. He might be gone now but he had to deal with the repercussions.

She took a step back as he stood. She didn’t know how he was going to react; if his eyes were going to go black or not. Cassie also didn’t know if she could ever trust him again after what he did. “H-hi...”

             The asset wasn’t adjusting to life outside of the compound—— it was much more difficult than any mission. With missions he usually had to leave after his kill but no, there were no kills and he had to spend time with idiot teenagers. Even his haircut was new—— longer hair was much better so was scruff but he was twenty, or so they told him and he had to act as normal as he could but he wasn’t normal——— he wasn’t even human. After his jog, he removed his cap and ran his hand through his hair as he watched someone going to touch his bag. “Don’t touch my stuff,” he told the person.

Despite her reluctance to be there, Cassie would still train like they told her to. Everythign sucked, but she had to do it. She had just run a few miles and was going to sit to fix her shoes. She was about to move a bag when someone stopped her. “Sorry.” The blonde mumbled. “I needed to sit...”
