Saturday Six...or is it Sunday?
1. I have been MIA on here once again. Eating and fitness have been ok. Nothing to write home about but enough to be included in this list.
2. I am on night 2 of a 3-night stint working the overnight shift. I feel like a vampire! I also feel so tired that I could cry!
3. I have discovered that working the night shift when that is not your regular gig really messes with your eating schedule. This morning at 2:00, I was having “dinner”. Then I slept when I got home from 8:30 to 1:30 and was starving when I woke up.
4. Related to the above, our governor came by last night and pressed the flesh with each and every one of us working. I thought that was pretty cool...
5. I have some really cool stuff coming up this week!
6. Beer! (I wish!)
Truthful Tuesday
Although I really do enjoy my job, I really wish I didn’t have to get up and do the daily grind every day. Today is a day off for me and I got up a little later than normal, worked out, and am now going to enjoy my iced coffee and a leisurely bowl of cereal.
Saturday Selfie
This brought a smile to my face this morning. 😂😍
Saturday Random Six
1. Saturday is the one day of the week I don’t have to set an alarm at the ass-crack of dawn. I usually still wake up early but today I slept until 8:00! I can’t remember the last time I did that.
2. My brother-in-law and niece went to the “Daddy Daughter Dance” this afternoon. I went over to see her off and it was quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. ❤️
3. I dragged my butt to the gym this morning. It never does get easier, does it?
4. My 16yr old has been bagging groceries since December. Tonight I went through his line and as I was leaving he said “Love ya, Mom!”. I know he probably said it to impress the cute cashier he was working with... but I’ll take it!
5. We just bought my 72yr old mom the Amazon Echo. Every day she calls me to tell me about her latest interactions with Alexa. I want to be annoyed but it’s actually pretty sweet.
6. If you made it this far, you deserve a beer! Happy Saturday!
If what I am reading is true, that Tom Brady ran off the field without shaking hands with the Eagles QB, I am extremely disappointed... and disgusted.
Watching the big game on the big screen. Hopefully peeps don’t get out of hand and we’ll have an uneventful evening.
Fivers
1. Since I live in Massachusetts, you can imagine that the hype surrounding the Super Bowl is strong. I have said it before, I am a bandwagon / meh fan. I have to say that news alerts about Brady / Belichick / Gronk popping up on my phone are annoying. Seriously... IT’S A FOOTBALL GAME. (Sorry...)
2. Related to #1, we are having a “Spirit Day” at work today. That’s fine because I get to wear jeans. This is a big deal because it’s only the 4th time in 2.5 years that I have been able to do so.
3. Related to #2, we are having a pot luck / “tailgate” lunch to go along with Spirit Day. My will power needs to be strong. I purposely made something I don’t really like. I hope others did as well!
4. Since I honestly couldn’t care less about the big game, I volunteered to work. Fingers crossed no bad stuff will happen so I will essentially be getting paid to watch the game on a very, very large screen.
5. Last night I went out to dinner with my cousin/bestie. She is what you would call... gorgeous. We were sitting there chatting when some douche came over, looked he straight in the eye and said “You are VERY attractive”. She got flustered and embarrassed. I decided to lighten the mood by responding for her by saying “Thank you! What am I chopped liver?!?”. Seriously... who does that??
Challenge Update
(In case anyone was wondering / cares...)
I am down 2.5lbs this week making a grand total of 7.5lbs since 1/8. They aren’t huge numbers but I am happy with it. I got out of a number range that really bummed me out.
This is a marathon... not a sprint. 🐢
GPOYW… The “Man Do I Look Tired” edition.
Tuesday Truth
Someone I am friends with on Facebook talked about “Fire Cider” and now I am obsessively reading about it.
Five... TGIF
1. This week has been super busy and super trying. I had something to go to every night this week. I am beat!
2. Open house for my 14yr old last night. The recurring theme from all of his teachers is that he is quiet and respectful. One even said “sweet”. I’m glad he acts that way outside of the house because it’s all hormones all of the time at home.
3. The morning wake up battle with him is continuous. Today it was epic. If I had taken a video of it you still wouldn’t believe it. When will it get better?!?!
4. The 16yr old had some “girl problems” last night. We talked for a while and I gave him advice. He hugged me and thanked me! I almost fell over and my heart exploded. These moments are so rare!
5. The hubs is away for the weekend so it will be Netflix and chill for me... meaning actual chill.
Hi… Five.
1. Hi all! Although I don’t get to post as often as I’d like, I still try to keep up with you all as best as I can.
2. My fitness challenge is underway and so far, so good. I am down in weight and moving more. I am trying very hard not to go overboard because when I do, I fall off of the healthy wagon… hard.
3. I am getting together with some college friends tomorrow night and really looking forward to it! I haven’t spent any significant time with these ladies in over TEN years (probably longer)! It took the unfortunate and untimely death of one of their moms to make us realize that life is too short to not spend time with those that are important to you.
4. I just found out that I will be traveling to Indianapolis for work this spring. Any must see / do recommendations?
5. I know some of you will be strongly opposed to this but… GO PATRIOTS! (I just found out that I will be going to the game! Yipeee!)
