I'm 1959 the people of Tokyo gifted Toronto 2000 sakura trees in honour of Toronto's acceptance of relocated Japanese people after World War II.

Every spring, they bloom in High Park and attract large crowds.

By 2001, 3082 cherry blossoms existed in Toronto to symbolize strengthening the bond between Canada and Toronto.

Now you can find them all over southern Ontario. This was taken in Kitchener.
