Struggle for Equality or Power

It started of as a cry for equality,

Which can’t be said has been fully achieved.

Yet there are some who stray from equality to power consolidation.

Is it a movement to empower women or a movement to bring down men,

No doubt the patriarchy has had its fair share in fuelling this hatred.

But should we not remember why Feminism started!

It began as a cry for equality, which is still to be achieved.

Then why does it stray from an equitable distribution of power to a power struggle,

Neither gender is above the other.

The struggle for equality still continues, empower it,

But don’t be misled into motivating the fuels of hatred.

Why does one have to hate the other?

In order to be equally respected,

Why does one have to prove themselves to the other!

Let us remember,

It is not a battle of the genders but instead,

A battle of rights and equality.

Equality comes with respect,

And not by dragging others down.

Tides!

It goes up and it goes down,

Its never still even once

You either ride the tide or go against it,

You either be the cart or the roller coaster or the breaks on it.

We didnt stand up to live so life could be still,

We stood up for the thrill of life,

So ride the tide of life and dont row against it .

Willing to ride the tide of the ocean,

The highest rollercoaster,

Yet when it comes to the tide of life,

We give in and fight against the tide or go under it.

Let the tide of life guide you and not overwhelm you,

Don't fight the tide but dont submit to it.

Elements

An ocean like no other ,

Yet the same in mannerisms,

Calm and composed when it wants to be,

Violent and turbulent like no other it can be,

A mind it is , an ocean like no other.

A flame like none,

Its heat felt only when it wants to be felt,

Goes as cold as ice and yet it flickers like a light ,

The heart it is a flame like none.

An ocean and flame come together ,

All you see is steam ,

All I see is a human ,

Formed from the coming together of heart and mind .

What Inspires You?

Inspiration, what does it mean?

Well it can mean an artist’s influences and ideas to draw something, a singer’s rhythm and flow for a new melody but what does it mean for just a person, not a singer or a writer or an artist just a person. It can be seen as the difference between wanting to get out of bed every morning or sleeping the whole day, it can be seen as the difference between the will to live and move forward in life, or let the flow of life carry you and give up. Inspiration, this one small word, how does it affect us, what role does it play in our lives? I believe that people have forgotten the meaning of this word and have limited its use to coming up of a new idea and a different idea. We have forgotten that inspiration can be something as small as the push we feel to get up in the morning and go on and enjoy our lives. It is that spark within every individual, to do something new, to break the cycle of monotony in their lives.

It is the lack of this one word in a person’s life that at time results in a feeling of self-loathing and depression. When a person isn’t happy with the way their life is moving on and flowing, and they do not have the courage and the strength to break that cycle and bring back the joy into their lives, that is the lack of inspiration. We see people around the world giving up their lives and attempting to end their own lives, this may be because of something that happened in their past, which they don’t have the inspiration to get out off or it may just be because they just don’t have the right inspiration to go out their and face the world daily.

Now as it is always said, inspiration can strike at any time, it is the same with life. Anything or anyone can inspire you to live and look forward in life, inspiration in life is nothing but the will to live on and move forward rather than staying down when the world knocks you out. So I say this to all the people out there who have lost the inspiration in their lives, keep your eyes open, for that one thing or that one someone that inspires you and don’t let up until you find it because it is out there!

For me inspiration comes easy, because of my family and this big group of people that seem to be there whenever I need them. To people like me who already have inspiration in their lives, I say try and inspire someone, look for the people that are in search of the inspiration you have and help them find it, because life is too big a gift to give up on without fighting for it.
