today a friend of mine (cough cough @binghop ) asked why so many people shipped stenny because it seemed kind of plain (which is fair enough) so i went home and did some thinking and here is my personal explanation as to why i think its a good ship..... theres a trillion typos btw... at first stan and kenny seem like a kind of boring pairing out of the main 4. stan and kyle are best friends, kyle and cartman are obsessed with eachother, kenny seems to get the least amount of shit from somebody as cruel as cartman etc etc. so many other ships exist, especially within the main 4 that people might be drawn to instead, especially with the very small amount of episodes that actually focus on stan and kenny. personally i think the reason why so many of the fans like it isnt because of canon basis but because of personal perception and because even with the small amount of content we've been given, that content has been pretty important!

even though stan is one of the more emotionally open characters, hes still deeply cynical and withdrawn, he struggles with depression, alcoholism, disappointment, things he enjoys becoming boring to him, the feeling that eveyrthing is meaningless etc etc. a lot of stans character kind of revolves around how he loses his faith in things. in his bad situations, he wallows in his sadness and struggles to get back up. however, kenny on the other hand is almost a direct opposite to that. kenny had a horrible home life growing up, his family being in extreme poverty and constantly getting murdered in various ways except when he grows up, he changes his situation almost immediately and becomes a multi-millionaire and a well accomplished scientist. unlike stan, who cares about other people but never knows what to do with himself after hitting rock bottom, kenny is extremely determined to try and fix things for himself.

also, kenny's horrible situation is another thing that usually draws people in, because kenny suffers in all of these ways throughout his life due to how his family's financial situation is and the fact that he lives in south park and is immortal. stan is the most sensitive out of the group and would have the strongest reaction i think, due to his sensitivity and care for others. ? i dont know how to explain it ok

also there lack of interactions is something that i do keep in mind! i like kenny being kind of a figure of interest in stans mind especially since (in my opinion) stan is more nervous around kenny than he is with kyle or cartman. i picture stenny in a slightly more tragic (?) way of stan kind of being a yearner and obviously kenny just dies over and over. also s5 e13 was just so good idk.
