This shows the amount of civilian deaths from Syria per month, in total, approximately 250,000.
The Qur’an or the Book of Allah, is the most truthful speech. It should always be unchanged and written in Arabic. Lessons inside include strict monotheism, the afterlife, and curing disease by reciting the Qur’an.
As of today, there are 1.6 billion followers of Islam.
In this map, the highest amount of followers of Islam is in Indonesia with 203 million followers. The United States has the least amount with 2 million. Most of the followers are situated in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
1.) Shahadah: “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”
2.) Salah: Pray 5 times a day and each prayer is performed towards Mecca.
3.) Zakat: Giving charity to people in need.
4.) Sawm: During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast as a reminder that spiritual needs are greater than physical needs.
5.) Pilgrimage: The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca. Muslims walk around the Kaaba stone 7 times to reveal their sins and to be cleansed.
Shari’a: Islamic law based on the Qur’an.
A look at the Kaaba
Considered as the holiest city of Islam, Mecca is located in western Saudi Arabia. In the courtyard of the Grand Mosque, there stands the Ka’aba which is a small building that contains the Black Stone. The Black Stone is a sacred relic that is said to erase your sins if you were to touch or kiss it, and also because, the last prophet Mohamed was buried there.
