"Erm... hey there Juvia. Um, sorry for my absence..." The blond boy rubbed the back of his head, looking a bit more tired and older than he did before. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small heart shaped box with a small note taped to the top of it. He held it out to her, light blush dusting his cheeks as he did. "Sorry this is a couple days late but, um, Happy Valentines Day."
{{I LO VE YOU SO MUCH THANK}}
"Huh? Jamie, you’re back? Wait, what happened to you?" The Swindler began, shocked to have even gotten this visitor; seeing as she had also returned recently. He must not have heard of her leave. Oh well. Of course, that was when her attention was stolen by the heart-shaped container perched atop the Soccer Player’s hand, a small slip of parchment taped to it’s roof. Her peer’s face had been stained by the heat that had risen to it just a tad. A shame, really; compared to his previous bursts of a similar motion before her. ‘But, then came his excuse for the present, causing Juvia’s expression to rise into a grin that almost seemed…well, genuine. That was rare. Not that it stopped the Swindler from taking the small item. Gloved fingers lightly fumbling with the side of the box and the note atop it; obvious she was stopping herself from just ripping it open.
"Well, huh. I thought Black Day was meant for girls to give boys they fancy things? Oh well, I can’t say I won’t accept a gift. I guess I’ll be your American ‘Valentine’, though. Well, we can say I was, if that’s how it worked for the past days? Whatever. ’But, don’t worry about it being late. I’m a new return too. Now, what’s got you feeling under the sunny weather, Soccer Stud? You don’t look in the best condition. We ought to catch up. Uhuhuhu~."
Given Jamie’s excuse for his absence, Juvia could tell just by his vague answer that he had been keeping things to himself about the situation, but, it just didn’t seem the proper time to pry right now. Boy, it must have been stressing him out. ‘But, she’d assumed she could read the note and; with a quickened glance, she’d recovered her oh, so common smirk. She should have known. It may have felt…well, nicer than she’d admit to have read that directed towards her, but, she could hardly contain the small snicker that threatened to pass her lips. It was silly how he’d continued to persist on the matter; even having been away from one another for months, he still seemed to have been quite smitten with the idea of being romantically tied to her. No matter what, it just didn’t seem to add up in her mind; and when he’d continue to pursue her, it just made her feel…like she was missing something. Something that would make him want to be with her and see himself remaining with her; as he’d said he did. Why was it so hard for her to find that missing piece? It just made her laugh at herself. ‘But, seeing how on edge he’d appeared now, she believed a nice chuckle wouldn’t end too well.
Oh, now, that was cute. He was down-playing things and trying to veer away from the subject. Well, that just made her want to know more. After all, wasn’t there someone who said the bad people have the best advice? No? Oh well. She knew she could spare some time for Jamie and had the best knowledge for any situation. ‘And, she could use it to deflect his questions as well. Or at least distract him from the situation until she could pick away small pieces of information until she could piece it together. “Eh, just burning some bridges and snipping some loose ties. You know, awkward business. ‘But, I’m more curious about what I’m hearing about your leave. It doesn’t sound so good and truthfully, you look like you could need some spa-time. I assume you don’t want to talk about it, Soccer Star? I’d be more than willing to lend an ear or shoulder. Maybe even my lips~. Uhuhu~.” The Confidence Artist purred; her commonplace flirtations being woven into her remarks, as they used to be as she prodded away at Jamie’s situation. Let’s just hope she hadn’t been too careless.
Jamie brought a hand up to scratch his cheek as she read the note and smirked. He didn't expect anything less from her, so it didn't affect him that much that she seemed to find it humorous. Okay, maybe it did just a little bit, but what did you expect? He was just a silly little boy who happened to like a girl. A girl he found pretty, and witty, and charming. And at these thoughts, he let out a sigh and his cheeks flushed slightly. Of course, was it really okay though? To think such things? To think, oh, that he could possibly remain with this girl forever? Hell! He couldn't even get a hold on her to just be simply dating her! And maybe that was why his family wanted him to get married with that dumb chick who just seemed to like him for the money. It was sickening, really. But of course, that wasn't the time to think about such news. No it wasn't. Not at all. But then Juvia began to talk about what happened while she was away. And the best part, she was about as unclear as he was. How wonderful. "With me? It was nothing too big, I told you that. Just," he sighed, "talk about what happened with you maybe?" He didn't want to talk about what happened with him. Not yet, while he was just so close to getting to be with Juvia. Obviously talking about that plan B of an arranged marriage might just shut her away from him permanently, and he didn't want that just yet. He just wanted to be able to hold on to her long enough first, and then, maybe then...
