yknow how reader is referred to as sharkbait in fics? let's see shark referring to his kid as sharkbait i think it'll be soooo *screams*
it’s like your living in my mind. and I literally used ‘shark bait’ like once or twice bc I got carried away with the plot lol sorry not sorry. if you squint r is implied to be shorter than park ig. f!reader implied
“—you’re going to stabilize the knee, for reduction,” brendons son nods with wide eyes. not exactly sure what his dad was saying. “—and I’ll be distracting medially—” a tiny grip to dads arm as he adjusts his son in front of him. “at the same time I’m going to move medially to clear the tibia.” the little boy stares up at brendon. eyes even wider.
something like this took a few more hands. but brendon knew him and his boy could handle it. “ready, shark bait?”
his son nods, determined. rising to full height. a small shaky breath releasing from his mouth. “ready, daddy.”
“1, 2, 3–”
click.
with his son, still in his grasp, brendon leans forward to look. the leg of his boys toy figure back in place.
“okay, not too bad. looks good.” he nods to the little boy in approval, who stares back at him with a big smile. a few front teeth missing. “we did it!” the kid exclaims from his dads arms, proud of himself, as if he wasn’t scared just a few moments ago by brendons instructions.
“we did it.” brendon says as he takes his scrub cap off. “now let’s clean this up before—”
“why are the lights off?”
both of the park boys stare to the door where you stand. switching the lights on as you take in the sight in front of you. your husband stands there in full scrubs, hair gelled back— scrub cap in his hand.
and your son, practically strapped to his chest.
“brendon?”
it’s probably the first time you’ve ever seen him look so surprised. your eyebrow quirks up expectantly. your lips pressed tightly to one another as you try to suppress an amused smile.
your son smiles wide when he sees you. lifting his toy up from the table and shouts “we fixed it!”
“fixed what, baby?” you pad over towards them and take his toy in hands. his tiny finger pointing to the leg. “that.” he says quietly almost as if realizing before that he wasn’t using his indoor voice. his head leans on brendons from where he’s still held in his arms. small hand patting dads back as he watches mom, you, look at it.
you glance up at them and smile.
“looks good.” and your eyes practically melt when you see your sons reaction. his small arms attempt to wrap around dad. his forehead pressing up against brendon’s, hard. something he does when he’s so overwhelmed with emotion. he just sort of (,,>ヮ<,,)!!!!!
he squirms in dads arms as he tries to shimmy out of his grasp. and just takes off running when his feet touch the floor.
your lips pursed as you stare at your husband. amused.
“you ever going to answer me?” you ask as your finger waves up and down. “what’s with the scrubs?” a giggle slips from your mouth. brendon shakes his head and laughs.
“his leg fell off.” he says it with a shrug. as if it was no big deal. as if his son hadn’t come crying to him with tears running down his cheeks, telling him that his toy figures leg came off and he needed dad to fix it because that’s what he does. he fixes people. “hmm.” you hum as you eye him. “okay, Dr. park.”
you drop it because you already knew. you know that your husband wouldn’t just scrub up and gel his hair back for anything.
“be sure to clean this up—”
“daddy!” your heads whip to your sons voice as he runs back in.
“what’s up shark bait?” brendon lifts him up again. the little boy held close to his chest.
“can you fix this too?” you smile and look to brendon. who checks out the new toy that seems to be missing an arm. you really need to get your kid toys with their limbs attached.
“let’s see what we’ve got.” he says it so seriously. committed. ready to help his boy.
“did I ever tell you this is my favorite look on you?” you admit as you begin to leave them to their thing. brendon laughs and shakes his head. “you’ve seen me in scrubs before.” you lean against the threshold.
“I’m talking about you being a dad.”
brendons eyes pan up to you. eyes soft as he stares. watching you leave the room as you leave them to their father son time.
I am simultaneously deliriously in love with the ending of Loki season 2 and absolutely loathe it
On one hand…Shakespearean tragedy at its finest, essentially circling back to Loki’s original Thor 2011 character arc by reversing it, and Loki has literally ascended to godhood. In the end, Loki’s ultimate selfless sacrifice was to sit upon the highest throne in the multiverse, and that to me is tragically ironically beautiful
On the other hand…Loki being alone makes me want to burn Marvel studios to the ground and do other unspeakable things
