Chinatsu | Pikachu is real | ??? -> Casino | ATTN: Hisato
So he did gave up? Well, it shouldn’t be surprising, but… if it was the truth, then why did he still bother to fight against this situation? Wouldn’t it be far more easier to just sit down and do nothing? Weren’t his actions kind of contradictory to his words?
She wanted to point that out to him, to ask him why he was being so illogical - at least in her eyes -, but she opted to stay silent for now. Why did she even bother trying to help or understand? Didn’t she want to give up as well?
It stung a bit when Hisato reminded her again that these people she kind of trusted could also turn around like Min-yun. Of course, she knew that, of course she did! Hisato might as well be the next murderer for all she knew, it just depended on the motive, really. But… a part of her hoped she was wrong about her pessimism, that someone would truly stay to themself instead of falling into despair.
She was contradicting herself quite often now, huh? What a bother.
"T-There was also, u-um, t-t-this note… S-S-S-Something about scouting a-a-and meeting up w-w-w-w-with other p-p-people? C-C-Could mean w-w-we have even m-m-m-more survivors lu-lurking around… b-b-but p-p-possibly outside o-o-of this place."
Chinatsu laughed shortly and then shrugged.
"A-A-Also don’t think w-w-w-we stand too much o-of a, erm, chance, b-b-but… y-y-yeah, who likes t-t-t-to loose? B-Better try to win the g-g-g-game if a-a-anything… haha…"
Now that he thought over it, Hisato wasn't quite sure what sort of conversation he'd gotten himself into. Well. He probably shouldn't have expected too much good to come so soon after a trial and with someone walking in on him wearing a Pikachu kigurumi of all things. But even so, it really had taken a turn Hisato didn't predict in the slightest. He thought that by guiding Chinatsu to the Nekomachine they'd be done by now. But here they were.
(He was also a little surprised that she still seemed to be optimistic to a degree. Not the impression he'd expected to pick up from this exchange. The supposedly meek girl kept surprising him.)
"...You mean this one, right."
The words Hisato spoke as he dug in his pocket - a process that took longer than normal, thanks to the damn kigurumi he was still wearing - didn't really carry a questioning tone, the male briefly glancing at the paper he extracted to check he had the right note before casually holding it up between two fingers. A scowl seemed to flicker onto his face for moment, but then it was gone just as quickly as it came.
"Showed you this before, didn't I? It's exactly what you said. Other two note I pulled from that kid seemed to have similar directions. Trust me. I've been reading these a lot trying to work them out."
With a shrug (and admittedly holding back another scowl) Hisato held out the battered note in the case that Chinatsu wanted another look.
"What you said is possible. Problem is. We have no idea how long Graham had been hanging onto that note. Date in the corner does jack shit for us. For all we know this could be from a year ago or yesterday. Those two mentioned in the note could be long gone or... still actually here somewhere. Somehow."
"...Does it all even really matter, though?"
