FREEDOM
When you look at this picture, what do you see? A rock? A rock with a cool pattern? Just some gray blobs?
If thats what you see, you're right. It is all of those.(Although, if it's the last one, you may want to go get your vision checked😉)
However, when I look at this, I see resilience, I see strength, I see freedom.
See the "cool" patterns on this rock were caused by years, possibly decades, of splash erosion. 💧
Over the years, the water droplets hitting the same place, every time, until a catastrophic structural event, or maybe just one drop too many hit.
And then the rock broke free.
Beautiful. And free.
Free to be washed down, till it settled here, for me to find. A reminder that no matter what you go through, it's never too late to be free.
Trauma is funny that way. When you're in the midst of it, it's easy to dismiss a "splash" or two. Not realizing the long term effects. Not noticing the tiny bits of yourself being washed away.
And sometimes it does take a structural failure, a big momentous event to realize the toll that's been taken, and break away.
And sometimes it's just one last drop.
But whatever part of your journey you're in- still attached, trying to pick up the pieces, or finally able to accept the beauty in your brokenness, remember that is never too late to embrace who you are beyond the trauma.
Let the current carry you to where you are appreciated.
It's never too late to be free. 💧🫂
