Hello, I've noticed you recently on rotumblr. I also see that you're also an amazing photographer! I'm in the progress of establishing my own business right now. It's currently in renovation due to how old the building was. I was hoping if by chance you had time in your schedule to come take photos of the building to help us advertise on rotumblr? It's going to be a tea house/onsen located in Malie City on Ula' Ula Island, in Alola. I need a photographer to help take beautiful photos, to properly advertise this historical landmark. I'm not sure if you exclusively take photos of only Pokemon but if this sounds like a good opportunity to you, please feel free to reach back out to me. Thank you for your time.

Todd rarely spent time on social media. He was the first photographer that’d been graced the privilege of snapping clear, unblurred shots of mew, the one that harboured the DNA of all pokémon—safe to say, his photography revenue and demand skyrocketed shortly thereafter. Most of his “trademark” accounts on social media were rarely accessed aside from posting his high-ranking pieces or cycling peer-reviewed environmental activism posts.

Truth be told, he felt very monitored. People staring at him with wide-eyes and big, teeth-bared grins, waiting for his next artistic discovery. Sometimes he just wanted to be—himself. To not feel the plethora of heated gazes upon his back, searing cloth and flesh ‘til grotesquely twined.

That was why he created an anonymous account on rotomblr. Posted some of his pieces that weren’t as world-renowned as others, ones still beautiful but not as refined, in hopes of wielding an account that he could speak and post freely, without the constant supervision.

That was when he got this message, some months into his account.

Todd hummed and hawed on his response. On one hand, this could be an opportunity to chat and begin networking outside of his dominant circle, on the other hand, he could be opening up a proverbial can of orthworms.

Two days after being sent the message, he replied.

hey! :) thanks for the compliments haha, much appreciated! i think this sounds lovely! i am predominantly a pokémon photographer, but i’ve done my fair share of nature and architecture shots as well. quick question, though—do you intend to pay me for my services? if no, i’m not interested—but if yes, do you mind if I grab the details of the building / business and yours as well? i’ll happy exchange my own details too. we can discuss more from there. :)

The hunt for the perfect shot was perpetual. Mentally vigorous, physically exhausting.

Today's chase led Todd up and down hills, skirting around herds of pokémon that grazed, their chewing lacklustre but their gaze intense. One hand was kept on the flank of his camera, fearing that one hand-less jostle might knock something askew, as he trekked through the vast countryside for his target:

A Poké Ball vivillon.

A rarity in these lands and further still. Her strange colouration, sparkles of dust shed as she floated about on the afternoon breeze. She'd fought the good fight of remaining out of a good shot's reach, but her placid battle came to a tantalising standstill as she perched upon the side of a tree. Presuming a momentary rest, Todd took his moment and scuttled forth, knelt down, and prepped his camera.

... And of course someone stepped into frame.

Todd poked his head out, grinned and motioned the individual's attention towards him. He pressed a forefinger to his lips, requesting mute discretion, pointed at the bug and tried to gesture them out of the frame so that he might have a chance of a photograph.

sir jiggles, todd's scream tail ( aka. ancient jigglypuff ), is, like most of their kind, very aggressive. however, finding esoteric, strange familiarity with todd that they're unable to pinpoint or quite make sense of, they aren't violent with him.
