stop infantilizing surpiya ganesh! she is a grown ass woman!
the way the pitt fandom is spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation is genuinely disturbing. some of you are straight up falling prey to anti-Semitic beliefs without even realizing it. i sincerely hope those behaving in this manner are impressionable young folks because the alternative is just goddamn embarrassing.
that's all???
you're welcome
the pitt fanfic recs: recent faves edition
fair warning: basically all of these feature robby because he's The Character. so... if you're not a fan, this list probably isn't for you. also, please make sure to check tags and author notes for warnings!
You got me floating in an ocean of emotion and I think I'm gonna drown by lunardeath [jack/robby; one-shot]
“I’ll have you know, I also got hit on today.” “Oh really?” “Yeah. Her name’s Gladys, she’s 93, and she told me if she wasn’t confined to a wheelchair, she could show me a thing or two.”
it doesn't have to be forever but it has to be right now by wishingonalightningbolt [yuri langdon/robby; one-shot]
She has to look away, has to catch her breath. She feels like a Jane Austen character, caught up in the tiniest sliver of skin, as if she isn’t a woman in her fifties who’s had plenty of sexual partners.
V'ahavta by oliviacirce [jack/robby; one-shot]
He wasn't too old for the buzzing anticipation, the champagne-bubble feeling of wanting something desperately and knowing that he was going to get it. He'd almost forgotten what that was like, how it made his skin tingle and his breath come faster and his heart race, but in a way that felt good.
your place is where i’d rather be instead by girlwritesthings [jack/samira/robby; one-shot]
Jack, seemingly unperturbed by Robby’s intrusion into their life, acts as he always has. When he arrives home a little after 7:45 each morning, he settles behind her in the kitchen, his hands resting along her hips as he sucks a kiss into her throat. Robby’s shuffling feet and grumbled “Good morning” cause her to jump, but Jack’s hands stay firm on her skin, holding her close as she froths milk for her latte.
our eyes are yet to open by cicak [jack/robby (main pairing), jack/samira, langdon/robby; au + multi-chapter]
When Jack slid into his mind it felt like something strange and wrong every time, but Jack inside his body is familiar, it’s biology and chemistry, its firing neurons and chemical pathways and a literal, undeniable thing that Jack is doing, not some trick of the phone network infrastructure and vampiric charm.
you fondle my trigger then blame my gun by cicak [samira/robby; one-shot]
“She was my Adamson, you understand.” Samira can’t even prevent the kneejerk revulsion that rolls over her. “I don’t know what you think Adamson and I did, but it absolutely wasn’t that.” Robby stops and looks at her. “Really? Okay, sorry. I really did think there was something there.” “Ew.” Samira says. “No offense to the great man, but he was like my dad.” “Am I like your dad?” Robby asks, but she can see he’s distracted, looking at his old mentor as she makes small talk with her students. “You’re like my boss,” Samira says, dismissively.
Taking Care of Each Other by wegoodandevilthings [langdon/robby (main pairing), past jack/robby, potential future langdon/jack/robby; could technically be read as a standalone? part 3 of series]
"Sorry. You're just…" He sighs and puts his hands firmly on Frank's hips. 'You're lovely,' he wants to say, but it feels like a weird compliment. Lovely. Handsome. Beautiful. Strong. Durable. A sight.
In the Pines by lovelycrimes [jack/robby; wip]
Of course. Jack, the planner. He hadn’t just planned the trail and the reveal; he’d planned the entire arc of their desire.
i should get a PhD (in yearning all the time) by earthseraph [jack/robby; one-shot]
“Is that my sweater?” Robby asks, just to be sure, even though he’s absolutely sure. For starters, it’s too big on Jack to be his own. Followed by the damning monogram of his initials in cream cursive just above the breast pocket. “Yeah,” Jack shrugs, finally looking away from the board toward Robby, “got cold last night.” Robby’s brain must short circuit because he goes from static, feedback error, to blurting, “I think about you so much it’s gotta be bad for my health.”
i find it genuinely baffling that robby/langdon doesn't seem to be a popular ship in the pitt fandom. with their dynamic, you'd think they would inspire an endless supply of creative works, and yet... last i checked, they've amassed a little over 200 fanfics over at ao3, which is rather astonishing especially when compared to other ships.
they didn't even manage to make the top 10! how?? (to be clear: this isn't an invitation to bash other ships! i truly think it's fascinating what gains popularity in fandoms and what doesn't. curious to hear anyone's thoughts!)
in the words of isa briones, girls girls girls.
fingers crossed this goddess makes an appearance in season 2
devil's minion fanfic recs: au edition
listen. i told myself i wasn't interested in non-vampire iwtv fanfic, but that was clearly a lie. so. here's some fics that i absolutely adore. enjoy!
the absence of god by thisisthefamilybusiness [wip]
It’s such a nice daydream. To imagine that this house could have been someplace beautiful, somewhere they chose to be. To imagine that they had a real, happy, human life together—were partners, were even parents together maybe, were in love. To imagine that they had the lives that rightfully should have been theirs.
Backroads to Sonoma by burntcrimson
The night sky is an endless, decadent blue-black, and here, where the only lights are the little bulbs that dot the orchards, and the far off-windows of vineyard mansions, sprawling pseudo-rustic villas, the stars twinkle in the thousands. There’s a plane up there too, tiny lights flashing white and red. It’s heading south, maybe on its way down to LAX. Families and movie stars. All those people, all those lives. He’s always been interested in what other people are doing, but has felt apart as long as he can remember. It’s been a perpetual point of confusion, an unplaced resentment, an un-healable wound. He’s at peace with it now. It doesn’t matter anymore.
If You Have Ghosts. by sunshineramblings
“Oh! I’m Daniel, by the way. Molloy. I, uh –“ “How can you stand it?” Armand interjects softly, putting his free hand out to shake. “Being named Daniel?” He softly laughs and the laugh feels fake, it feels forced. “The quiet. Haven’t you noticed how you and I are the only people here? Isn’t that strange to you, Daniel?”
univision wishes it had this many plot twists by thisisthefamilybusiness
He wouldn’t have pegged Armand for a wicked stepmother type, but he also wouldn’t have pegged Armand for the type to marry the ex-husband of his ex-boyfriend who was originally his theatre’s financial backer. Or the millionaire-via-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-settlement-from-a-college-professor thing. Or the seminarian-setting-the-college-professor’s-house-on-fire thing. There’s shit on Univision that wishes it had this many plot twists.
continue to be mystified by the iwtv fandom's insistence on downplaying the importance of assad zaman's role in season 2. like. whenever anyone dares to say that season 2 was louis, claudia and armand's season they're met with so much hostility! yes, the core relationship that anchors the season is between louis and claudia, no one is trying to negate that! but for some reason, acknowledging the key role armand plays in the story is somehow viewed as an insult. he's a proper supporting character! why are people choosing the pretend otherwise?? it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially coming from certain viewers.
i know certain armand stans can be... Intense (the same can be said for fans of other characters on this show, lbr). but c'mon. this also plays into how people are talking about how promotion for season 2 was handled and amc's overall treatment of non-white actors on the show. i do think there's a lot of misinformation floating around, but let's not act like there isn't something more sinister going on behind-the-scenes. (to be clear, this isn't directed towards the creative team behind the series At All)

or, a random assortment of armand/daniel fics that i've recently become enchanted with for one reason or another.
After me, the flood by glasslilies
Nobody loves it. Everybody wants to be there—but it’s not a place made for keeping. Story of Armand’s life.
let the rock roll by chuffystilton [wip]
“I’m also sorry,” Armand says, finally. “I apologize for holding you hostage for four days and then wiping your memories and leaving you in a drug den.” “It was six days.” “Six days. And looking back, I should have given you more toilet breaks.”
the great poems covered their famished faces by sweettartheart
"Burying your issues under killing sprees or drugs or elaborate gaslighting schemes works up to a point. But in the end you have to wear the pain. You have to live with the anger and get to know it. So you can see the chinks in the defenses and know how to knock 'em down when you get the chance." He traces the shell of Armand's ear, pinches the lobe sharply. "I think Claudia was really onto something."
House of the Rising Sun, but Sing it in Old French by chapstickaddict [wip]
Inhumanity didn’t fit him. In fact, the further into the Dark Gift he went, the more he realized just how very familiar his desires were. Like well-loved, worn through shoes that had been resoled, polished up, and presented anew. His vampirism put him at the mercy of his humanity, not above it.
no choir by mercuryhatter
Daniel looked over to Armand, wearing a worn set of Daniel's own ugly plaid pajama pants with a sweater patterned with avocados that he'd taken off last night's dinner.
Provenance by aurora_borealis
As much as she hates to admit it, sometimes looking at Diana in all her mature and womanly beauty just reminds Amara how much she despises her reflection, how much she is burdened by her body. It should have been a moment to savor, her head between Diana’s legs and her tongue moving inside past the hair, undyed unlike the dark hair on her head, but it made her remember. Amara needs to start forgetting things, she thinks. In terms Diana would put it, she really fucked up. If she was the one who forgot things, perhaps everyone would be better off, herself included.
