in the space of about a week one of our partners needed emergency dental care when all the emergency dental places were closed, so we owe the er and emergency dentist,y ex said the storage unit she and us were sharing got rats in it and that she tossed out a bunch of stuff (but nothing that she considered irreplaceable, which idk if she'd include shit like our childhood plushies in that), and the car we and our wife have been working and sleeping in for the past several years blew something and won't run. it's 41°c.

i mean, there is already a decades long pre-existing trend of recently out or realized trans women becoming spokeswomen for all transmisogynized people despite their lack of knowledge and experience both within the community and nvigting the world as an out trans woman.

i won't lie, i've been that person. it's definitely a kind of catharsis, to able to talk about this aspect of your life you've been keeping secret out of shame and fear, often for years. and if people listen to you and see you as some kind of expert it's validating. it can even feel like it compensates for those past experiences of powerlessness and pain.

but as you experience more and begin to realize more about the oppression you have experienced and are currently experiencing you begin to point that out or demand more and at that point you lose the social influence you once had.

tme people are only interested in the lives and perspectives of tma people until the point at which some kind of change is demanded of them. this is true of all socially privileged people, white or nonblack people, abled people, etc.

but to stay on topic, part of the reason trans discourse stagnates and transfeminism is developing in its current form is that the people who become figureheads or spokespeople choose at some point to stop developing their critiques and stop demanding change and instead develop a niche they're comfortable in. this is why the online or academic famous trans women you see even tme people cite only say the same few things. this is also why socially privileged people can build bigger platforms, they ask for less because they need less accomodation in the existing power structure.
