Hello~ I just wanted to say to anyone with insecurities about their weight/gender/skin color/or any other physical characteristic. You all are lovely no matter what you look like. I'm sure you've heard this before, but it's called cosPLAY for a reason! You're supposed to have fun, and nothing should restrict you from that. Also, there is a wide variety of different headcanons for all of the characters! Who knows, you might fit someones headcanon perfectly <3

Hey, I've been thinking about doing Latula cosplay, but, I'm insecure about my weight. I'm not too over weight, but I'm still a bit chubby, and that makes me feel really insecure, since I see Latula as a thin awesome skater. Should I do the cosplay, or should I not?

please please please be confident. i'm kinda overweight (i have big thighs n tummy chub with muffin tops and all that) and i recently realized that it really doesn't matter, and i can be confident no matter what. this is just like the tip of the iceberg of the realization that i had and it would be really hard to explain but seriously it's really important to love yourself and your body. i was really depressed about other things for a loong time the past few months and my appearance and body image was smushed on top of it and once i realized like damn i'm not too bad my entire outlook became better. this actually has nothing to do with cosplay but it's still important. love yourself!

do the cosplay either way, but no matter what you do, stay confident! i'm sure you'll look super awesome :) -mod z

ATTENTION HOMESTUCK COSPLAYERS!

The other day I went to my local craft store looking for paper clay to cover my stardom core horns with and instead walked away with FIMO light air dry clay. And let me tell you I have zero regrets. This shit for one is a bit cheaper (around $8), and barely cracks at all. The top two sets of pictures are my Terezi horns after letting them dry. The bottom two are after sanding. This shit is awesome, and I still have half the package left! The only cons I can think of is that it had a weird texture to it at first, and isn’t very easy to work with. Otherwise it certainly lives up to its name for being super light and looking really awesome.

Homestuck Tights: Comparison Between Mediums, and the struggle

I can’t say I’m not disappointed with WeLoveColor’s quality, and don’t tell me it’s because they’re only 8 dollars. In early June, I purchased Morona Opaque Grey Tights (Medium/Small) from Target for 7 dollars. They’re the exact same color as the paint I use, which is Snazaroo light grey. Not only is it thicker and contours to my arm better, but it’s seams are much smaller and blends much better. The WeLoveColor tights are not only MUCH bigger (I can tell I’m going to have to sew them extra to fit my arm snugly) but they’re also much less stretchy, as well as a cooler color of grey. Not to mention that the threadwork is more more noticeable. I’m surprised that the Homestuck fandom has sung the heavens of this product, considering the actual quality of the materials. Some people make it work, don’t get me wrong, but the material is a bit…lacking.

To my infinite sadness however, is that I can’t buy Morona Grey Opaque Tights anymore because they are discontinued in the Opaque Tights line. I can’t find them anywhere, not even online, and it’s killing me. I’ll miss wearing my old armsocks so much, I guess I’ll just have to make it work.

If anyone finds them, give me a holler. I would kill for another pair or two.

I’m not dissing the people who use the WeLoveColor  brand tights, they’re not horrible quality or anything, it’s just I was expecting something very different from what I got.

hey i feel really bad about having to make this post but somebody just asked me on my personal if i could check this blog and i did and i realized that i don't have time for this anymore. 

i have a life and i'm trying to keep my straight a's and i'm trying to move up a grade level and graduate early and i have friends and. i have a life and whether i had one or not i would not be on this blog often either way because i am no longer passionate about homestuck :( 

mod t is still going to be a reliable mod as far as i know but i'm not sure?

I am going to cosplay Rose and I have two questions... 1)Should I wear my bangs behind my headband And 2) I have caramel blondish hair. Do I need a wig? My hair is blonde enough but I still feel it's wrong.

1- I think you should wear the bangs out infront of the headband

2- I recommend for everyone to use wigs for their cosplays, just because wigs tend to look thicker/nicer (more canon) and it's easier to style wigs then your real hair of course; However, cosplay is just about having fun and expressing your love for the fandom, franchise and/or the character! So if you'd just really rather not wear a wig, or if you don't have money for it and you feel like you can pull it off with your own hair, go for it!

This is black lipstick. Not any black lipstick though, its only $9.95 on etsy from a lovely store named Etherealle.

Im sure if you’ve ever purchased black lipstick before the main issue is getting something very pigmented that won’t rub off easily. Well, this is the perfect stuff. In the photo I only had to apply one layer of it and it rolled on smoothly and doesn’t feel oily or waxy at all!

I’ve taken a drink of sweet tea, kissed and  touched my lips with my fingers just before this picture,and its still black as my soul.

Not only is it the dream lipstick, Etherealle also included a small sample baggy of blush that normally costs $2.80 in their shop for free! (As if the lipstick wasnt perfect enough.)

so i want to cosplay rose but since i have a round faceshape and am overweight i thought about getting a longer wig but that wouldnt be rose then anymore would it? do you think i could just take a long wig or should i cosplay another character then?

Oh girl, don't worry about it!

I'm overweight as well, with a very round face and I've cosplayed characters with short hair before (Jane and Gamzee, for example) and I've also wanted to cosplay Rose (though I haven't because I'm working on others right now) but anyways, don't feel scared of the short wigs! Like, I'd advise you to try to stay with a short wig to be Rose but it's your choice if you want to cosplay a long haired lalonde or if you want to go with another character all together. But yeah, i think you should just cosplay whomever you want, regardless of your body structure!

Hi there! I'm new to cosplay and I plan on doing Terezi, and I NEED to wear contacts, the glasses I plan on getting can't be prescribed for me! I don't want to get one a day contacts because they cost the same price as colored contacts, come with very little, and last for a little amount of time! (a day, duh.) So I want to get colored contacts (they last a year I've heard) but not red mesh. Any suggestions?

Well, most Terezi cosplayers just wear contacts with a red iris and transparent pupil. I've seen some who, use red eyeshadow (cream or skin paint sometimes lipstick, whatever) to cover their entire eyelid and then put on false eyelashes at the crease of the eyelid for photos so that when they pose for a photo, they keep their eyes closed and it gives them the look of having completely red eyes
