as a child, lynorra did frequently dislocate her shoulder from its socket. she scaled ancient trees unfit for climbing until her hands were imprinted with the bark, dove headlong from the high sea-cliffs on the far beaches, and dead-hung from the massive antlers mounted along the inky stone walls of storm's end. more oft than not, she has walked into a wall or two as well.
naturally, ’twas a sight oft seen within the keep and its grounds, her arm bound tight with bleached linen after the maester had knocked the bone back into its proper place, piecing her together akin to a doll, no less. that recklessness was one of the catalysts that ultimately drove her to take up the light swordplay and train with a low-draw bow ⸻ a deliberate, grueling effort to strengthen her rotator cuff and force her froward joints to stay in their proper alignment.
her swordsmanship is ever more show than efficacious in its utility, for she trains only to keep her frame lithe, and not to march into the bloody press of battle. ceaseless is her yearning for the adrenaline to course like wildfire through her veins. to the hind, ’tis naught but a dance; with a slender blade weighing light in one's grip, into a trance it must draw the opponent ere long, until with the sudden swiftness of a scorpion she might deliver her sting. or her parry. yet her aim, even ’pon the back of a galloping mount, remains stellar; one would do right well to have the stag in their repertoire during a grand hunt. for her fair cheek had been kissed more times by the taut bowstring than by any paramour of hers.

whomst dare command a bitten tongue ? rain pelts & smites furious the dark courtyard without. the sheer force of the torrent had caused an insolent doe to dart for the nearest shelter, which just so happened to be the slate overhang of the forge. thunder rolls ominous above, a snake gliding the tumult. torrid air, filthy & ablaze, quivers 'neath heat that rages despite the gloom & oh, how he thrives in his domain ! basks, as a lion would bare golden belly to the sun's kiss. tempered steel rages with a humid hiss, an eruption of steam. he dips his head, attempts futile to relieve blackened brow upon a bare forearm that is equally as dusty, succeeds only in painting it further. fumes layer thick, fire snarls & he handles what his hand has wrought, turns the steel languidly, intent in study, aware of being watched. raffish features washed deep honey by flickering lustre as fingertips hover enticingly o'er blade's naked edge, yet his gaze is now solely upon her. a haughty leer cast through strands fallen stray o'er his brow, the clash of irises, verdant-flecked amber meet azure. ( save your breath. ) nostrils flare. he takes a breath … and yields. ❝ you wound me. ❞ so amiable a cadence, hand of mockery clutches his supple chest, fractured by her arrow fletched with such brazen words. brows lift, eyes wide with all the pleading innocence of a snared fox that one cannot help but feel sorrow for, yet the cunning twitch at the corner of sooted lips is unmistakable. ❝ if you truly wished me silent, you'd have sheltered elsewhere. ❞
the hind wots better than to graze at fruit laid bare to snare her. passing wise she is in that regard. naught but a smith the man is , haply has never been counselled on how to address a lady. astructive had been each clank and blow of his hammer ‘pon the molten , carrot hued , steel. the sweltering heat of the forge distorts the very air around it , the tang of metal and iron tinge it acrid. surely , the forge is not where a lady should wander about. forthink it she must. yet are her antlers not on her head ? her fury not bright 'pon her brow ? anneals it her vision , glassy marbles of blue raking over the smith and his creation in awe , noting the grime ‘pon his cheek and brow , and what rogue he must think himself ! ( for she was no better in her thinking , the youngest the stag is , yet carries with her the pride of a tiger ) amaranthine her tempest , nestled upon the tick in her jaw as teeth clench , bereft of the suavity the ivory jasmines tucked in her braids had. here , in his domain , empery they had none. to saunter away now , would be akin to yielding her home to him. and so bite she must.
❝ you'd do well to remember that this is my home that you seek employment in, ❞ prances the stag forward, hoofs planted, hands on her waist.
storms wot no end , true to the name the lands remain. turn along with tide she should have , no sooner had her snout had caught wind of the wet earth , of the swirling clouds in the heavens above , yet as ever , the doe played by the river's shifty bank , and gambled her chances away. a downpour so heavy was dealt to her , it blurs the sight , washing each stone , each branch , gray and white , incessant with its whispers that echoes against the slate of the forge.
extant , she stood under the scrutiny of his verdant gaze , the gold of her garb , sullied wet by the heavens, marred by the mud. and no less than a cat who had the misfortune of falling into a garden pond did her visage render , mahogany ringlets framed her bones devoid of their shape , yet some did defy at odd angles , and some barbed around the jewel of storm’s end’s pale neck.
her eyes narrow to slits, deliverance sharp ‘pon her lips. bemused , nonetheless.
❝ eat your tongue , lest i have it. ❞

⋆ · 𖤓 · ⋆ 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐄 ··· a collection of soup gone cold and blankets shared, the intimacy of being cared for when you are at your worst. genre: romance, hurt and comfort, soft angst, domestic.
You're burning up. Don't argue with me. Get back in bed.
I made soup. It's not great. Eat it anyway.
You should have called me the moment you started feeling like this.
Stop trying to get up. There is nothing on this earth that needs you upright right now.
I found three blankets and a hot water bottle. Pick your combination.
You look terrible. I mean that with so much love.
Let me take your temperature. Stop being difficult about the thermometer.
I cancelled everything. Don't apologize. I wanted to be here.
You fell asleep mid-sentence. I stayed anyway. I hope that's okay.
Drink the tea. Yes, all of it. I'll make more.
I've been checking on you every hour. You keep telling me to go home. I keep not going.
Your voice sounds awful. Rest it. We can talk tomorrow.
I'm not going anywhere. Stop thanking me for staying.
You hate being taken care of. I know. Do it for me anyway.
The fever broke. I don't think you know how relieved I am right now.
Sleep. I'll be right here. I'll wake you up if anything changes.
I brought your favourite thing from the place on the corner. Don't cry. Please don't cry.
You're a terrible patient and somehow I still want to be the one doing this.
I know you think you're being a burden. You are not a burden.
Let me sit with you. I don't need to talk. I just don't want you to be alone.
You tried to make your own tea and you could barely stand up. Sit down. I've got it.
I've seen you strong. This doesn't make you weak. It just makes you human.
You smell like fever and you still somehow look like everything to me.
Lay your head here. Right here. I've got nowhere I need to be.
I brought every movie you've ever mentioned. We have time.
You're mumbling in your sleep. I'm not going to tell you what you said.
I changed the sheets while you were in the shower. Don't make it weird.
You need to eat something real. I know you don't want to. Eat something real.
I've been sitting in this chair for four hours. I'd do it four more.
Stop apologizing for being sick. People get sick. Let me help you.
Your hands are cold. Give them here. I'll warm them up.
I found the medicine in the back of the cabinet. Take it. All of it. Don't negotiate.
You're not inconveniencing me. Taking care of you is exactly where I want to be.
I didn't know you got like this when you were sick. Softer. I like knowing this about you.
You asked for me. Out of everyone, you asked for me. I haven't stopped thinking about that.
The heating pad is on the lowest setting. Tell me if you need it warmer.
I'm not leaving until your temperature is normal. Make your peace with that.
You cried a little when the soup was too hot to eat yet. I pretended not to notice.
I've never seen you let anyone take care of you before. I'm honoured. I mean that.
Your hair is a mess. Can I? Is that okay? Let me just — there.
You keep saying you're fine every time I check and you are so obviously not fine.
This is the third night in a row. I'm not going anywhere. Stop looking at me like that.
You're delirious and still trying to be funny. It's working. Please stop, I'm worried about you.
I learned how to make your mother's recipe. It took three attempts. Don't tell her.
There's nowhere I'd rather be than right here, even like this. Especially like this.
You always take care of everyone else. Just this once, let someone take care of you.
I left the light on in the hall in case you woke up scared. I remember you mentioned that once.
I'm here. I've got you. Just rest. Everything else can wait.
starting today with lynorra in a brawl <3 yep yup <3 go on missy

❝ not what i imagined , ❞ quoth @lykosog , standing alongside her under the gazebo's wooden sanctuary, shielded from the rain that lashed the muddy grounds of the yard. only a handful of souls braved the downpour few feet afar.
and what scoff did his ardent observation cleave from the stag. yet, aghast she refuses to be. tempest-laden gaze wafts over the lord, languid as seafoam, bitter as the water it rode onto land and antlers lift proud with the tut of her chin, an umber curl at her temple following suit. not long has it been that the northern lord has graced her halls with a promise of camaraderie. but as the seven would have it, under the storm first words are shared betwixt the two.
❝ and i expected you to be taller, ❞ she counters right swiftly, yet wolfish is the stag's simper, grin spread o'er fair visage, dripping with sweetness that sickens very marrow. ere long could he fashion an apt retort, her lips part once again, her syllables all honeyed. ❝ one cannot always be impressed. best make peace with it. ❞
