   AVOIDING people who live within the household you work came at a HEAVY price & those frail porcelain hands were paying for it. but if CLEANING helped her mind to forget, even if only a few seconds, it was worth it. exploring the manor was CHALLENGING— it was a large space FILLED with several rooms, all scattered about, her heart was already pounding when she reached the doorknob. sure, she’d HEARD tales of blue-beard as a child & knew best than to open a CLOSED door, but curiosity was both a disease and an ally. CRACKING the door open slightly, dark orbs absorb the inky blackness & her steps are wary, uncertain.

     the LAMB calls out— hearing no reply, her wavering footsteps proceed with more confidence. b r e a t h caught in her THROAT, her body jolts! responding with VIOLENCE & stumbling backwards at the bloodied sight of a familiar figure.

         slow, uneasy breaths shuddered through his chest as he was FINALLY able to have a break from the knife-happy erikson. he could feel his wounds attempting to heal, the process agonizingly slow after losing so much blood. he was physically and mentally BROKEN, nearly on the verge of begging for m e r c y. 

        as he heard the door open, his muscles grew tense and if he had a heartbeat, it would be RACING. the soft voice surprised him, his dark eyes darting to find it’s source. it all felt so REAL --- no, he wouldn’t let himself fall for it, not this time. he shook his head at the girl and LAUGHED, the sound short and nervous on his tongue. 

        ‘ nice try, aleks ! i know this is just one of your stupid tricks. you can come out now ! i know you’re just DYING for round two. i know i am. ’

        brows furrow in confusion when she doesn’t disappear, and aleks was NO WHERE to be found. but it had to be a trick... right? he refused to give in to the hope that it was real, he’d been let down too many times. he shook his head.

        the STRUCTURED way he held his jaw left a grin touching his lips, though it was FAR too malevolent to be joyful. in this STATE, he had a certain aura about him. he was SURE his family had already noticed but aleks didn’t want to BROACH the subject if he could help it. that would raise TOO MANY questions & he didn’t want his siblings being aware of WHAT he was doing.

          he scoffed, a short and NERVOUS sound leaving pursed lips. the other’s laugh was nearly MANIC, the sound foreign from his lips. it made his skin crawl, but he’d never admit it out loud. hands balled up into fists as the blade CARVED INTO HIS SKIN, willing himself not to make noise. 

          he HATED being so vulnerable and helpless, not unlike a human. he imagined that it must be how pandora felt around him. predator versus prey. vampire versus human --- except, in this circumstance, it’s vampire versus WEAKER vampire. he cursed himself silently for letting his guard down so easily against the volatile original. 

           ‘ what’s this REALLY about ?                              ---oh and spare me the bullshit this time, would you ? ’

        it didn’t take LONG for him to set up this PLAN  — it had already been thought of before, so SOON they were below ground, body poisoned CHAINS keeping him up.

        dagger was LACED in the same poison, yet he was careful not to TOUCH the blade. the room was dark, though it wasn’t even a ROOM. it was a cage, & he was the ravaged animal heading for his PREY. a laugh echoed from his mouth at he male’s words, moving SILENTLY towards him. blade was pressed to cheek, DIGGING into hard skin.

          he WINCES as the poisoned blade comes into contact with his pale skin, his jaw TIGHTENED in order to prevent a groan or a whimper. he refused to give the original --- who seemed to be a bit OFF HIS ROCKER at the moment --- the satisfaction. narrowed eyes turned into DAGGERS themselves, wishing to pierce into the monster in front of him. 

          ‘ you think i’m SCARED of you ? ’ he winced once more, the poison from the knife burning his skin every time his mouth moved. he chose to ignore the pain --- he’d be DAMNED if he was going to let the other take away his voice so easily.

            ‘ tell me --- what part of this situation APPEALS to you exactly ? is it the fact that, if something were to happen to me, carys would NEVER forgive you ? or is it that you just generally enjoy RUINING everything you touch ? ’
