          ╳ ┊ u l t i m a t e  »  “Ceril..?” He called out the other’s name, clearly confused why he’d found the blue hedgehog wandering around Shadow’s zone like this. The black hedgehog was heading back home from the GUN headquarters and had run into Ceril in the alleyway. “What are you doing here?” He tried to hide the fact that he was concerned what would happen if someone from GUN had seen Ceril..

         “Come. You don’t want to be here.” he gestured the other to follow him.

*Blue ears perked up as Ceril heard his name get called. He smiled upon noticing Shadow, but the smile was soon replaced with a confused expression. The other didn’t seem terribly happy about seeing him.

Despite the slightly demanding tone, he followed suit - his reason for coming there to begin with was to come visit the darker one, anyway. It had been a good while since they had last seen each other, and he had missed his friend. However, the circumstances didn’t feel quite ideal.*

Is something wrong?

Knock knock knock! "Soooonic! e ue I brought something sweet for youuuu!" Indeed he did. Two little red-velvet mousse cakes topped with white chocolate flowers, secured for travel in a neat little plastic display case. It wasn't dinner and a movie, but something told the super that wasn't really this Sonic's style, so a sweet afternoon at home seemed like a nice idea!

*Truth to be told, Ceril hadn’t thought he’d be getting any visitors - not on Valentine’s Day. Usually, others were too busy either spending time with someone they loved, or spending time by themselves during it. Or that’s how he thought it to be, anyway.

There was a smile on his face as the blue one walked to the front door, having recognised the raspy voice. Ceril opened the door and got out of the way to let Fleetway in, eyeing the case he had brought with himself curiously. He was always up for sweets, of course, but it was unexpected. Still appreciated, though.*

If Ceril was to watch any shows or movies having any graphical scenes similar to his trauma, they’d cause bad memories to spring back up in his mind and his throat may hurt in reaction as well. If he could avoid anything of the sort then he’d do so, however, knowing this might be very tough because if he doesn’t know the show or movie then he wouldn’t know about the scenes.

It might even cause him to have nightmares about it as well.

 *Ceril watched the city center’s New Year’s display from afar, sitting in solitude. Fireworks were the more impressive the closer you were to them, of course - but he’d rather avoid the crowded areas. And the sound of explosions was bad enough from a distance, anyway.

It was a pretty warm night, despite it being winter. As the last of the fireworks vanished and the show ended just a bit after midnight, Ceril got up and started to walk to his house. Another year gone.*

*Ceril waited at the door patiently after knocking on it, fumbling with the small box he was holding in the meantime. When he heard the clicking noise of the door being opened, he looked up instantly and gave Starlight a bright smile. A nod was given at the offer before he stepped inside, holding the box behind his back.

Once the other had closed the door, Ceril handed the present to him eagerly. The small red box had the words “Merry Christmas” written on top of it, and inside it were a bag of assorted chocolate truffles and a blue dreamcatcher. He had seen it while looking for a good gift and figured that even if it wouldn’t work, or even if Starlight would have no need for it, it would at least look pretty.*

The holidays can be a very stressful time for people - so it’s hard for them to sit down and write about Christmas in RP when they are stressing over it in REAL LIFE. So, just a little reminder that some people still want Christmas threads AFTER Christmas.
