To... Vàclav (and attendants crew!): Been wondering about some things lately.. Like, what was the Valesa family/bloodline like? Ludovic? Why do you place his stuff on the right even though he's clearly left-handed? Is this recent?
I really wanna know the history! Thanks!
And sorry if these things are known, 'n I seem like an ignorant simpleton here. ^^') Also: About Anna & Florent Valesa? Are they Valesas or Hestios?
"Of course, it is always a pleasure for us to educate on His Lordship's esteemed family! Thank you for your inquiry! Ah, where to begin..? I assume you are perhaps already familiar with most trivia regarding them, but... I suppose it never hurts to revisit.
The Valesa bloodline, is a quite ancient family - as old as the very duchy of Whiteridge itself, and spans several generations. They fought alongside general Valka, her army of knights and the esteemed Radinov line in the Divine war, to courageously fend off the vile Hypogeans and their leader - The Frostfurie. Never begging for mercy nor fleeing, it is also in the Second Divine War, if memory serves, that his Lordship's brother perished.
His Lordship, was intended to inherit the title of Earl Silversparrow from his father, Jesford Valesa - Archduke Sigmund's ancestor... and the very first Valesa to take the mantle of Duke; Lord Ludovic passed much too soon, unfortunately. As for why we place on the right, previously it was primarily due to habit. Other than Eamon and his parents, none were aware of His Lordship being left-handed; in recent days, it is because he has requested so. A... form of experiment, for self-betterment through venturing out of one's comfort zone."
"Lord Ludovic was quite frail as a child, plagued by an incurable hereditary ailment... Yet always still held on hope to live, burying charms beneath thriving trees in the courtyard on the days he has the chance to slip from the Valesa castle.. dreaming of charging unto the battlefield like the protagonist Zavrus, of his most favorite book--"Helm of the shadowed knight".
Until at last hope for survival dimmed and fear of mortality abruptly stark drove him into dire measures... perusing the castle's library in search of a cure, taking matters into his own hands as medicine was proving insufficient. In the end, he cast Gravecalling unto himself in hopes of evading death's cold grasp, without anyone ever knowing."
"Gravecalling is quite taboo and scandalous magic, you see... In his haste, His Lordship overlooked and missed a few.. key elements on the nature of magic. As a result, the Gravecalling froze solely his body and trapped his soul from leaving, thusly rendering himself in eternity's embrace... But, we digress. Due to the constant intake of medications, Lord Ludovic developed a distaste for the bitter flavors in particular. Sour foods were not pleasant, but bitter was simply awful on the palate.
...Along with a dislike for leeches and needles. And a severe aversion to uncleanness, filth as germs may lie.. awaiting to infect. You could say it reminds of unwanted memories."
"Nevertheless, unless it was necessary for improving his deteriorating health or stabilizing his condition - any bitter and sour dish was rejected by him. Often by angling his head away by a faint fraction or moving the item he holds from one hand -or arm- to the other, conveying the conversation has reached its end, and his desire to move on. ...This, paired with the head-turn, is firm rejection and dismissal along with His Lordship saying 'I refuse to further entertain'.
Whilst we can discuss his nonverbal cues to us, humble aides and staff - we fear this is a long topic. But, do feel free to inquire... though we may not be able to respond in His Lordship's presence."
"To finish our current discussion - Young lady Anna and Lord Florent are Valesa-Hestios per lineage ledgers. Yet in the eyes of their father and ours, they are direct Valesa descendants through and through without a doubt; not illegitimate heirs like young miss Orla."
