“I’ve always found that tips can save a person’s life,” he grinned, though his lips never parted. With a good decade or above the girl, he could tell their mentalities were not ideally matched. “Immortal? Possibly.” Elijah let out a laugh, “but decades are only ten years time. Am I becoming of ancient appeal?”
“Can you take me somewhere? Anywhere –– I.. I don’t care where, I just,” Lexi glanced back at the hotel she had just exited, her shift ending. “I need to get out of here.”
“Would you rather get yourself comfortable at home?” His eyes glanced about the hotel, bringing them back to her. “There is quite some hysteria in here. No place for s woman like yourself.”
“Hey!” Danny yelled, defending the person beside him by blocking the photographer’s camera. “He/She said no pictures. Now take your camera and get out of here or trust me, I’ll break it.”
Elijah took a step back, narrowing his eyes to the commodity that the hotel had become so quickly. The face before him was a familiar one- taking his mind a moment to suggest from where. “Thank you,” he spoke, letting the words fall below the yells of the press. “Looks like we’re here to stay for a bit.”
“ Always and forever.”
Even in times of trouble, he was not one to arch a brow to the sense of oddity. Instead, Elijah much rather tuck them back, think about them as a lullaby to coo his mind to sleep. Not to be certain, but a feeling within his gut jested with his brother’s optimism. Perhaps, though, it was nothing more than him finding solitude in their strength as a family - something Elijah had wanted for sometime.
“Finally finding sanctitude in the thickness of blood?” His eyes peered to the shot of jack that was driven directly to the bar top’s mouth. “While I am hardly a fan of euphoric thoughts,” his shoulders slumped back, taking a drink from his own glass. “I’m rather sparse on ideas on how to keep my head intact.”

Disaster. Everything he had so perfectly planned had fallen apart right at his fingertips. The uproar he had been expecting was nothing more than the violent screams of those that fell ill to the effect. Elijah made his way to Atlantis, letting a few more curses spew from breathless sighs. His eyes immediately fell to his brother, seated across the bar. With the raise of his fingers, a drink awaited him as he sat.
“You here for your last meal, also?”
“While I’m curious to hear about the other meanings to my lessons,” his voice spoke softly, with his lips curling into a crooked grin. “After you’ve lived past a decade or two, it becomes routine.”
“Lesson one,” Elijah slowly walked up behind, a smile curling to line of his lips. “Never let down your guard.”
“But, that’s just a thought.”

✥ BACKGROUND
Elijah Blackwell is The Chicago Outfit’s leading investor. Of Blackwell’s four children, Elijah has always stood as the most compassionate. However, he remains just as savage as the rest. His determination and honor make him a well-founded, and trustworthy business partner. Over the years, he’s been coined a “man of his word” meaning he sticks to his ethics. Between himself and Nik, they work side by side as a well-oiled duo. Both will participate in whatever executions are necessary. But unlike Nik, Elijah prefers to get to the root of all matters rather than act out impulsively. His renowned duties and responsibilities shape him into an influential and powerful leader. Which make him a force to be reckon with, just as much as his younger brother and father, who are most notoriously dealt with when it comes to affairs of the American mafia.
In 2009, Elijah Blackwell had established successful gambling operations in Florida, New Orleans, and California. The success of these gambling operations were reached mainly because they were founded on two innovations. The first being Elijah’s connections and the assembled technical expertise they gathered to manage all operations effectively based on Elijah’s knowledge of the true mathematical odds of most popular wagering games. The second was, the mob’s connections which were used to ensure physical and legal security of their establishments from other crime figures, such as law enforcement (through bribes). There was even the mob’s absolute rule of integrity concerning the games and wagers made within all of the Chicago Outfit’s establishments. Elijah’s casino’s in Florida and elsewhere were never “clip-joints” where gamblers were unsure of whether or not the games were rigged against them. Elijah’s even personally, ensured that the staff (the croupiers and their management) actually consist of men of high integrity, as he’d accept nothing less. Now, that the Blackwells (Elijah and NIk) have relocated to Beacon’s Harbor, Elijah is looking to help expand the mob’s daily revenue. He takes care of maintaining the Chicago Outfit’s investments and has been a huge resource in earning them a well-built profit. Even as Samuel becomes idle in his responsibilities as a father, Elijah steps in, acting as the second patriarch of the Blackwell family. He’s the only child of Samuel who can influence NIk in a positive way and many seek his assistance when his younger brother gets out of hand. Elijah aims to one day retire from his position of The Chicago Outfit but fears what will become of it if that were to happen and thus he’s willing himself to stay put. However, that may not last much longer; only time will tell.
