It’s Been A Long Time Coming

This following week, I enter my final year at Sonoma State. Although my time at this school would only be 1 1/2 years, my college career wll finally come to an end at the six-year mark. I started as an honors student in high school, makng my way to a prestigious Nursing Program at Dominican University of California, only to find out after $10k in debt that nursing was not my calling, rather it was what my family wanted me to do. I found myself lost at a community college, taking various classes and not taking things seriously, because I was down about my failure, eventually finding an interest in sociology, and graduating with an AA in Sociology, and one course short of an AA in Psychology, and on my way to Sonoma State University, where I would finish my college career. I sit before my laptop finally finding my way thorugh life, as part of an internship with a City Hall, and seven courses away from walking across the stage to receive my long-awaited diploma. After much trial and tribulation, I can finally enter the world as a full-fledged adult, hoping that I figure out how to do so successfully, and make my mama proud... -E.
