It was just 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐊 that he had caught up with the woman he once loved centuries ago in what is now slowly turning into the smallest city in existence. Although he knew he perished by the hands of his former sire, he does not know what became of Aurora before his demise—though he speculates that whatever 𝘿𝙄𝘿 occur no doubt had some kind of Mikaelson behind it. Lucien was going to leave without talking to her but it seems she is just as perceptive as usual and perhaps sensed his presence. He felt nothing but contempt for her after her admittance to not loving him and her willingness to use his affection towards her against him only to gain more power. But as soon as she spoke it was almost as if he could feel the hatred slowly peeling away and lifting off him. “Someone once said that no news can be good news, but I am not sure how 𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙀 the statement is…” The vampire folded his arms and flashed a small smile towards her.

  dear  sweet  lucien  tiptoeing  from  the  subject  at  hand    —  typical ,  but  to  be  expected  from  a  man  who’s  life  had  been  tied  to  her  former  lover  :  the  word  smith  hybrid .  maybe  amusement  should  not  have  been  a  response  to  what  used  to  be  viewed  as  a  sort  of  defiance ,  though ,  any  other  response  might’ve  suggested  hostility.  “  last  time  we  spoke ,  I  do  believe  you  had  a  plan  in  place  for  those  darling  mikaelsons . ”  enunciating  heavily  on  the  word  darling  while  feeling  the  utter  dislike  for  the  lot  of  them ,  especially  after  what  they  did.  “  and  seeing  as  your  limbs  are  still  attached  ,  I am going to assume you were victorious in a certain aspect . ”   carefully  choosing  her  own  words ,  approaching  the  fellow  trinity  member  with  confidence  in  each  step .  “  shall  I  congratulate  you ,  lucien  ?  ”   their  faces  now  mere  inches  apart  ;  a  mocking  grin ,  already  well  aware  of  the  affect  she  had  over  him  for  a  millennia .  surely ,  despite  what  time  had  passed  the  notion  would  continue  to  stand .  “  a  celebratory  drink ,  perhaps ? ”  more  so  a  command  than  a  question  as  she  walked  past  him .

  tapping  delicately  on  the  surface  of  a  table  while  surveying  the  area ,  shoulders  slunk  after  an  affirmed  notion  of  no  immediate  threat  lurking  about . sparkling , naive  implied  eyes  perked  up  at  the  sound  of  nearing  footsteps  as  though  her  silent  prayer  of  needing  company  had  been  answered.  “  sit .”  reaching  out  to  gently  brush  against  the  persons  lower  arm , “  join  me . ”  maybe  a  smile  would  encourage  the  other  that  she  posed  no  threat    —  not  now  at  least .  “  I would very much enjoy the presence of another . ”

  searching  for  a  proper  sparring  partner  seemed  nothing  less  than  a  futile  attempt  ,  but  it  did  not  deter  the  former  noblewoman  from  finding  leisure .  archery  was  the  only  activity  which  would  be  adequate  enough  to  suffice  for  a  few  miserable  weeks . inhaling  sharply ,  she  began  to  pull  the  bow  string  backwards  before  the  unmistakable  sound  of  footsteps  in  the  near  distance.  “  lucky  you ,  not having  the misfortune  of  becoming  an  accidental  target . ”  lowering  the  weapon  as  her  lips  curved  into  a  wicked  smile ,  “  tell  me ,  dear ,  do  you  make  a  habit  of  wandering  alone  in  these  woods  often ?  ”

  living  within  the  city  of  san  francisco  seemed  to  have  a  questionable  afterthought  to  it ,  after  all ,  it  did  lack  certain  elegant  scenery .  however ,  there  had  been  a  lurking  feeling  within  her  bones  stating  that  she  should  be  here .  teeth  gritted  at  the  mere  thought  of  such  a  predicament .  strange —   even  though  perhaps  it  were  for  the  best ,  despite  the  interruption  to  avenge  her  dear  brother .  as  if  on  cue , a  grim  facial  expression  turned  into  a  strikingly  positive  one ; flash  of  pearly  whites .  “  oh ,  I was  just  wondering  when  someone  would  pop  up .  ”  now  allowing  the  smile  to  fall  from  her  features ,  “  do  tell  me  you  have  come  with  good  news.  ”
