Thoughts:
1) Mayhaps time to make a multimuse? Elise is still my #1 but Iāve been wanting to write Sejuani & Quinn among others
2) In the same vein, looking to commission art of Sej & Quinn - any artists on my dash have open comm slots? o:

@iceflowers replied to your post: Canāt believe this LORE event makes me want to write in Runeterra even LESS
I can't believe they've become THIS bad at writing lore with an entire TEAM behind it like HOW do you fuck that all up?

Riot paid attention to Elise again so I legally must announce it here. She has long hair and wears ACTUAL CLOTHES!!!!
Gronoc returns with his take on Elise and her short story Strand by Silken Strand.
As per tradition, a basket of herbs, berries & dried meat would arrive for the Lady. Adorned with red garland and the Noxian crest. It was more of an outdated custom between two noble houses, rather than an amicable gesture. The note attached to it was handwritten, but contained a most typical greeting and wish for the upcoming festivities. One might get the sense that Jericho had only sent it out of habit and protocol.
Ah yes, another one. Her spiderlings dutifully place the newest addition to the small pile of baskets near the door. She receives a handful of these every year without fail, and has by now grown bored of them. At least most of what these packages contain would go on to be nice tokens - to be gifted to others still.
With a nod, a trio of spiderlings would be dispatched with a hamper of her own in response. Her name still retained a reputation she had to uphold, after all.
S.S.: I wanted to do a little more and send one final treat in the form of a drabble. Do you have any specific situations you would like to see Elise in? Either alone or with an OTP you have for her?
That would be amazing! I donāt really have any situations Iād want Elise in, not any specific pairings. I ship her with looooots of different muses (she a hoe), but my OTP for her has always been LeBlanc.
If youād like, though, I wouldnāt mind something with Elise and your muse, whoever it may be. A drabble is already a lot more than I was expecting so feel free to write anything that youād enjoy!
Bridal carries the spooder lady.
Leans against. āWhy hello, darling. Enjoying the festivities, I hope? Perhaps for my Snowdown present you could finally tell me who you are.ā
S.S.: What is Elise's perception of the world when she shifts into her spider form? How does she communicate with humans and other animals in that form? Does she feel pain during the transition, or any aftereffect of it like exhaustion when she goes back to her humanoid form?
Even in human form, Elise's senses are already extremely enhanced (good luck sneaking up on her lul), so upon shifting into spider form, while her ability to sense things increases even more, most of the benefits are impractical at that point. One thing that does change fairly significantly is her vision which actually gets worse, and tinted with a light shade of red. She is able to talk with the same chilling voice as she does in game, though it takes a bit of effort and she would usually choose to remain silent instead.
She is also able to transform into any size between a car tire and a minivan (great references I know), but going towards either extreme begins to drain her energy, so she defaults to the size you see in game.
There are no lasting side effects when she returns to human form, unless she's sustained injuries or spent a prolonged period of time either being smol or being beeg, then she could get pretty exhausted. Too much of either or both and it takes a toll on her body, eventually causing risk of death. Elise has rarely gotten to the point of even being exhausted, but it does take her out of commission for about a week to recuperate at the least.
Outside of this, she feels no pain during either transition.
S.S.: The 25th is coming up. Do you head canon Snowdown as being a thing in Runeterra, or an AU shenanigan? And in Noxus, would it be under the same name or with alterations to fit their culture? Would Elise celebrate it?
I think Snowdown is a canonical thing in Runeterra - though Iāve never really speculated about its origins, or how it spread. Itās always just been a thing thatās there that my League muses have all celebrated or encountered every year. I think most places celebrate it to an extent, especially Demacia and Noxus, it seems to fit them well enough.Ā
Most regions have their own minor tweaks on Snowdown, I feel, though most places would still have the core of the tradition, which is to bring close ones together at the end of the year, and exchange gifts in most iterations of the event.Ā
As Elise isnāt really one to call anyoneĀ ācloseā, she usually spends her Snowdown alone, or with whoever sheās with at the time. She might give gifts to some people, LeBlanc and Vladimir come to mind, or donate toys, clothes, and other resources to children and families in poverty anonymously - sort of like a last good deed of the year kind of thing. Other than that, she might treat herself to a nice warm cup of hot chocolate and fall asleep by her fireplace.Ā
You're on the Naughty list for the next hundred years, Elise.
Why must she be boolied (emote artist source)
Elise sniffs the air. Itās beginning to smell a lot like coal. Not again.
S.S.: What were Elise's aspirations earlier in life? Was there a career she thought of following, did she have great ambitions?
Elise was groomed from a young age to be married off as some sort of token to enrich House Kythera. Perhaps if she was given a choice of a career or future to pursue, she might've put a bit more thought into it - maybe she'd have chosen to become a magician or a seamstress - but unfortunately this wasn't the case. Not that she was complaining, anyway, having actively chosen to participate in her family's scheming to ensure the marriage went through despite those from House Zaavan who opposed it.
Perhaps that was her ambition in the first place, to consolidate power for her and her House. I'm not sure if that would constitute "great", but immortality's pretty cool, isn't it? Now if Elise could stop being such a killjoy and start enjoying it.
TBH I've never really put too much thought into her life before she was changed, so thank you for the question, hopefully I'll be able to give a more substantive answer the next time through uwu
S.S.: What are Elise's duties as High Priestess? Hows is she viewed among the other faithful and how does she view other religions?
First of all, Elise doesnāt actually subscribe to the religion she preaches. She has a working agreement with Vilemaw where they both benefit, and that's basically the extent to which their partnership goes. Pretending and preaching that he is a godly creature is just how she gets people to follow her.
Eliseās duties involve ensuring that everything runs as it should, mostly autonomously under the care of her spiderlings and those she places in charge. This includes āconvincingā local authorities to turn a blind eye to her operations, hosting sermons from time to time, and ensuring that whispers of the Church she plants among the population never die out. The Church has at least 5 temples in Ionia alone, with a few in Noxus, and smaller congregations throughout Valoran.
Secondary duties are to continue the aura of reverence and sanctity around her own image, which is easy enough to do since most cultists tend to fall in line. Those who donāt are dealt with harshly as an example to others. As a result, most of her faithful both fear and respect her a great deal, to the point where one could reckon the Cultists worship her almost as much as they do their God.
She doesnāt really care about other religions - she believes all who follow any religion are fools.Ā
12. Is your muse easily flustered? Do they blush, swear, etc.?
Elise is not easily flustered, though depending on the other party, it is possible to ruffle her and make her lose her composure. It does usually require a lot of jabbing or for her to have her guard down, though.
Her initial instinct is often to get somewhat aggressive and push back against whatever is unnerving her, which usually involves swearing, yes. She may blush too if it really gets to her, but this is uncommon. Basically, itās difficult to crack her enough to get to this point, but because of this, she has next to no idea of how to get herself out and tends to just end up digging a deeper hole for herself.
FWIW, I really enjoy writing flustered spooder :^)
