The site was once home to a sacred temple built by Ramses II, who the giant statue is thought to represent. What's your opinion about Bionicle 2015?

Good question!

I’m kind of torn. Most of the set designs aren’t bad (except for Gali; could they even be bothered to make the mask feminine?!), and the idea has some potential. It is simplistic compared to G1 BIONICLE, and I hope that as the target demographic gets older, they will increasingly make the story slightly darker and add more complexity. After all, G1 BIONICLE started kind of simple. I say kind of because they collected multiple masks and had to free the rahi from Makuta’s infected masks, and there was a little bit of lore learned.

But we fans have to give LEGO the benefit of the doubt; we don’t know what they’re going to be doing, and we can’t just reject the second generation just based on the story. If you like the sets, buy them. You don’t necessarily have to stick to the given lore. After, that’s what fanfics are for. :P They’ve hinted at the Vahi through various hidden illustrations of it (there’s a photo set flying around showing where they were hidden; I reblogged it), so maybe they’ll increase the complexity of the story through that. At least, I hope.

TL,DR: I’m willing to go with it and hoping it turns out good, and I’m not buying Gali. :P
