fanon can make Damian a little too formal. that kid's a punk, that kid's a smartass.
Real. My favourite Damian is the Damian that decided to deal with his grief by murdering in the only acceptable way to his new moral code: by making sure it doesn't stick.
My favourite Damian is the Damian that decided to beat up his family cause they were trying to stop him from going to murder island, and instead of going about it in a normal way he chose to betray Jason by calling him emotional, hugging him, and then electrocuting him.
My favourite Damian is the Damian that makes mean comments about Lex being bald.
My favourite Damian is the Damian that looked at his father and went "you only have one servant?"
hollanov soft launch where yuna posts a picture of ilya with the caption 'happy birthday to my favorite son' and the internet does NOT pick up on the soft launch of it all theyre just trying to figure out wtf shane did to piss his mom off so bad she (publicly!) picked his rival over him
Lesser-known steps of the writing process:
Finding all the paragraphs where you used some hyper-specific word more than once
Rearranging paragraphs that you swear you wrote in the right order but turned out to be totally backwards
Going for a walk, coming up with the perfect line, and forgetting it as soon as you get home and open your laptop
Creating a separate document where you can dump all of those nice sentences that no longer fit in anywhere
Waking up in a cold sweat because so-and-so was supposed to be barefoot but never actually took his shoes off
My wife about the "7 drafts" fic I have (named by her due to the amount of times I've had to rewrite The Poker SceneTM)
Damian and Jon still being bratty to each other when Jon is out being Superboy and has to save the youngest son of billionaire Bruce Wayne from yet another rogues attack.
Damian: “Could have made that landing better”
Jon: “Oh I'm sorry would you rather I have not saved you?”
To the point where the media thinks Damian Wayne and Superboy are petty ex's.
"It's a good thing Superboy was there to save you,"
The comment is innocuous, almost innocent. Said by a random reporter who is trying to get the scoop on the latest Super Villain hostage situation, even more high profile than usual, since the hostage-ee was a Wayne.
Damian scowls without meaning to, mouth going flat and eyebrows tugging downwards as he's reminded of Jon, and how he crashed into warehouse (through the roof! Like some maniac who didn't care about where debris would fall or who it would hurt!) Cape flapping behind him ridiculously as his hair was highlighted by the moonlight like the world's dimmest halo.
"Yes," Damian says after a while, voice terse when he realises the question wasn't rhetorical.
"This isn’t the first time you have been saved by Superboy, do you think it means something that he seems to always be your hero?"
"It means I get kidnapped too often,"
He was not about to give Jon the satisfaction of being allowed any glory, especially when it was for saving him in situations where he easily could have saved himself!
"The people of Gotham have speculated what your relationship with Superboy is-"
"I have no relationship with Superboy,"
The reply is too quick, and even he knows he's being way too obvious. But for a second he thinks about people realising they are best friends, connecting his identity back to Jon, connecting that to Clark, and on and on it goes until the whole hero community has been discovered simply because Damian has the most annoying best friend on the planet, who keeps trying to rescue him, even when he doesn't need it.
"So you deny being ex lovers?"
Damian chokes on nothing, suddenly coughing violently as the shock blanket he was given falls off of his shoulders.
"Lo- LOVERS?" his voice cracks in the middle, from shock or something else he isn't quite sure.
"The people of Gotham-"
"-think I've ever- I've- I'm in love with Superman?"
"Well I never said love,"
"You implied it!" Damian is pointing now, eyes wide and fingers stretched accusatory towards the reporter, "you think I'm obsessed with Superboy, you think I have some sort of grudge against him because I'm a scorned lover whilst he's the dashing ex or who still comes to save his former boyfriends life!"
"Well..... are you?"
"NO!"
And what makes it worse is that Jon is probably listening in, is sitting in a corner and laughing as Damian loses his mind.
"I'm mad at him because he crashed my car yesterday and didn't tell me!"
Do you ever think that when Bruce treats Damian badly after he comes back to life that he starts to believe that he is easier to greive than he is to love?

What's the general consensus concerning omegaverse genetics? Like I'm specifically thinking karyotypes.
47,XXα? For female alphas? Or are designations situated on a chromosome already? So it's just 46,XX still and then you clarify designation some other way?
I'm thinking about writing a drabble where imprinting functions the same as how the word imprinting is used when talking about genetics and I fear I have gone too deep in the genetics x omegaverse rabbithole
Hey, how do you think Bruce would react to walking in on Damian and Jon while having sex? Would he just back away and pretend he didn't see anything, or would he kick Jon out?
I'd pay so much money to read a fic with this exact premise. Even better is if everybody in the family has walked in on them at some point too.
Cass was the first one. She found them alone in the Batcave after a mission because, you know, adrenaline. Obviously, Jon and Damian freaked out, but Cass was shocked into silence. All three of them just kind of stood there, not saying anything for one whole minute—a minute too long. Jon and Damian are wondering what's wrong with Cass because—why isn't she saying anything! Eventually, she took a small breath before saying, “If Bruce tries to come in here, I'll stall him,” and then immediately left.
Dick caught them in a storage closet during a gala. He was planning on hiding in there himself to take a breather because those galas are so socially exhausting. He closed that door immediately, but he found the situation to actually be incredibly funny because all of them had to go back to that gala knowing that he knew they were having sex, and God, Dick had so much fun with this information. “I've done it in a storage closet before,” Damian responded. “Can you please you shut up?”
For Jason, it was in one of the many libraries that the manor has. He immediately closed the door and yelled, “Are you fuckin’ serious?!” That library, specifically, is his favorite because it's smaller than the others, it's cozy, and now he never wants to go in it again because all he's going to remember is how he walked in on his youngest brother getting railed over a table.
Tim. Tim actually walked in on them at the Kent's apartment, on their living room couch. Lois and Clark were away on business. He and the rest of his group of friends decided to go on a camping trip because they needed a break; they deserved that break. After the trip, they all decided to go to Kon's place, which is said apartment, to decompress. And as soon as Kon opened that door and turned on the lights, there they were on the family living room couch that they all use. Gasps and “Oh my god!!” ensued. Tim is at least grateful that he didn't have to endure this incident alone.
And Bruce? Oh Bruce. He didn't say a word, he walked away, called Clark because:
Jon: “I don't think we've ever done it in a car”
Damian: “We can change that”
He found them in the Batmobile, plain and simple. Was he angry? Wouldn't anyone be angry to find people doing it in their car? But he didn't yell; he kept that inside, told Damian that he was banned from the Batcave for at least three weeks. Damian found this to be fair. The call to Clark? As much as Bruce was frustrated with Damian, he didn't like finding the son of his best friend in between the legs of his youngest. The baby of the family.
Dragon AU
Thank you, @silver-athena , for the idea of a Dragon Jon.
Jonathan Kent looks like his Dad. He has his skin tone, dimpled smile, and curly black hair. But all the rest of him he inherits from his mom.
Jon gets Lois's humour, intelligence and scales.
Her husband may be an invulnerable alien hero but Lois is a Dragon from the days of yore that walks around in human skin because that way she can drink sugary coffee and destroy corruption.
Both protect the world but in very different ways.
Lois uses her draconian instincts to hoard knowledge and share her hoard with the world when needed. That's enough for her. The world rarely needs her teeth to defend it.
Her darling son probably will not get the same choice.
For all that Jon is vaguely human shaped most of the time, both sides of his family are legend. The legacy of Superman just happens to be current, and one the baby dragon expects to live up to one day.
But for now, Jonathan Kent seeks comfort in his hatchling scales and the warmth of his mother's nest.
He is as happy as a half Dragon half Alien can be.
He can fly even without his wings out, and while he has to stick to his human shape in school,at home, he is free to wear his claws and tail proudly.
Jon takes pride in being a Dragon, like his mom. As a ten year old kid, he thinks it's awesome. Both his parents are so cool!
Jon loves his teeth and claws.
He is often found curling up at his mothers side amid her nest of hoarded documents in the Cave his Dad built them under the farm. (Even though he is rarely allowed inside, A Dragons keep tends to be a private thing. Clark has the Fortress of Solitude he can say nothing even if he pouts.)
But Jon knows he isn't a normal dragon, even by half Alien standards.
His mom worries about his lack of a hoard. it's apparently essential to a young dragons health, but Jon just hasn't found anything he wants to collect yet. Not gold or books, even baseball cards lack appeal.
Lois tries absolutely everything to try and get her baby to fixate and build the hoard he so clearly needs, but nothing holds Jons interest. Nothing fascinates him.
That is until Jon meets Damian Wayne.
Damian is fresh from the League of Assassins, the newest Robin, and infuriating.
Jon wants to keep him forever.
The first time they meet Jon is strapped to a table for dissection one that he could easily break out of if something in him stills at the sight of the infamous fifth Robin.
The second time goes a bit better when they are forced together by their fathers, Jon makes a fool of himself in front of Damian because he is using all his focus on not grabbing Damian and secreting him away home or to a cave somewhere where Jon can keep him safe and content for centuries.
Damian, luckily, doesn't pick up on it, too busy trying to prove himself to Jon and Batman.
What Damian doesn't know is that he is already perfect in Jon's eyes. He is his hoard, after all. Even as he orders Jon about and defends his need for independence, Jon can't help thinking he's wonderful.
Jon barely finds the strength to fly away from Damian when his Dad all but carries him out of the batcave. He is so excited to tell his mom. He finally found his hoard!
Lois is more than a little horrified. She has never heard of a Dragon hoarding a human.
She tries to divert him and introduces other things he can hoard instead of the son of Batman. It does not go well.
Jon starts collecting knives, art supplies, and even romance manga in the original Japanese. Lois looks at the piles of things her hatchling collects and is at first very confused by his choices.
Her limit comes comes when she finds a tiny black kitten in the cave alongside Damians hooded cape.
Lois resolves to meet Damian Wayne and assess how big of mess this is going to be. So she does the natural thing and calls Alfred Pennyworth to set up a meeting over tea.
What she finds is not what she expected. Damian is harsh and prickly but kind and loyal in a way that she would have thought impossible of an ex assassin.
She sees it in the way he treats his pets and how he compliments her work in taking down corrupt corporations.
Damian excitedly shares his own research into geology and environmental conservation that impresses her greatly, and Lois makes a mental note to make copies to add to her own hoard later.
Lois discovers that Damian even befriended a dragon bat! A distant cousin to her own species! And while Lois still frets at Jon hoarding a single person, she doesn't exactly disprove of his choice.
Damian Al Ghul Wayne has been through much. Maybe he can match a Dragons intensity.
Lois adds a bed to the cave under the farm in preparation, and Jon picks out emerald green sheets and a dragon plush for it.
They fill the cave with everything a human may need to be hoarded comfortably.
The only thing left is to inform Damian of the existence of dragons and his status as Jons hoard.
Jon has a plan that includes the kittens, anime marathons, and sleepovers in order to slowly warm Damian to the idea of being part of his hoard.
So far, said plan seems to be working. The Supersons form so that Jon can protect Damian during patrols.
He sates the need to hoard his new best friend by collecting Damians doodles and hoodies for now, but Damian gets suspicious when his mask and several blankets go missing.
(Jon doesn't think it counts as stealing if it's for his hoard. that's what his mom says.)
Lois prepares books on Dragons for when Jon eventually tells Damian of his other heritage and proposes the idea of being hoarded.
Jon is sure it'll be a hard sell, but if he goes on like this much longer, he might just lose his mind.
His Lois is getting more and more worried he is becoming unstable.
Unfortunately, Damian doesn't get much of a choice, as Bane makes the mistake of harming Damian in front of Jon.
The Supersons are on patrol in Gotham when there's an Arkham breakout. The rogues have co ordinated to take down the bats.
The boys are left facing Bane and Killer Croc alone.
Jon sees Damian fall to the ground under Bane and Crocs combined efforts. He doesn't fly fast enough to catch him.
Jon doesn't even realise he is transforming into his true form before he is forcing the rogues to dodge his teeth and tail careful to keep Damian safely tucked away between his claws where no one can touch him.
Having a dragon with laser eyes trying to kill you makes Bane and Croc stay in Arkham for a very long time out of sheer terror. The other rogue write their description of a dragon with purple eyes off as delusion.
Once Bane is dealt with, unconscious for the bats to find, Jon lifts Damian up and, as gently as possible, flies back to the farm where he can ensure he is never harmed again.
Damian wakes up to a kitten on his chest, and his best friend wrapped around him in a larger cave than his father has.
"Jon? What happened?" He asks his voice rough from sleep.
The younger boy startles awake and grins at him. "Damian! You're awake! How are you feeling?! Does it hurt?!" The questions come so fast it makes Damians head spin.
"I'm fine but where are we?" He starts absent mindedly putting the kitten in his arms.
Jon blushes "Well you see..." He is quickly interrupted by a large scaley animal Damian hadn't noticed before in the background.
"Is that a Dragon?"
"Oh yeah, that's my mom!"
The Dragon waves at him "What?!"
He debates passing out again in hopes when he wakes next the world will make more sense.
The explaination he gets is unbelievable and considering his grandfather is a functionally immortal assassain that is saying something.
Lois does most of the explaining while Jon transforms and starts preening Damian.
The boy ignores it for his own sanity.
Lois tries to impart the importance of a hoard to deagons health, how Jon needs him to stay more person than beast.
Dragons that loose their hoards go mad and get destructive before fading.
And Damian can hear the fear, the desperation Lois has for her son and Damian knows that he would do whatever it takes to keep his friend safe.
Hestiantly he agrees to be hoarded for a while. Its just until they can find a way to keep Jon sane without trapping Damian in the Keep for the eest of his life.
Damian will never admit it but he all but melts when Jon excitedly curls around him.
He is also very impressed and interested in Lois's hoard though he knows better to touch it without permission.
He is even more impressed with the Damian collection Jon has amassed for him including a kitten now dubbed Smaug.
(Lois rolls her eyes at him but Jon likes the name.)
Damian learns Dragon history and the rules of the keep, which include things like quiet and no mess and finds himself relaxing for what might be the first time ever.
The only issue is that in all the excitement they forget to tell Bruce and Clark about the situation.
Only for Batman to track his son to the Keep three days later he is the attacked by not one but two pissed off dragons.
Damian calls them off from under a sleeping kitten and a mountain of blankets. Jon does so reluctantly but Bruce is ruthlessly evicted from the cave by Lois.
Safe to say Damian doesnt mind bing hoarded for a few days longer especially after seeing the look of his fathers face.
Clark mediates even as he pouts because how come Damian is allowed in the Keep Lois!!
Jon eventually learns to hoard Damian while letting him leave even if they do return to the Keep more often then not after missions.
Jon savours the closeness, the trust Damian places in him. Damian likes feeling needed and wanted.
Everyone knows to never touch Damian unless you want to earn not only Jon but also Lois protective wrath.
Damian endures said overprotective tendencies with an eyeroll and a smile because everytime Jon goes too far he gets a new sword or pet in apology.
The boys grow together hoard and dragon even if they are uncoventional.
Its no suprise when many years later Lois finds them kissing in the keep. New rules are added much to Jons embarassment.
This was such a delight to read!!! Dragon aus my belovedddd

Does anyone have any good Pinterest boards about Damian and Jon? (Seperately or together), I need inspo

Jon and Damian are sleeping together. A few times a week, for half a year or so.
Damian regrets every second of it.
Because he's been in love with Jon for years, in the same undying, unconditional way his mother loves his father. He knows that, he has accepted that. He has repressed that.
Because this is purely carnal. Because Jon asked to experiment, and Damian has never told that man no in his life, and they just never stopped. Jon would just text him a time, or show up unannounced and off to the bed they go.
But Damian won't be his mother. He'll be better than her. He won't drag Jon down to his level. He won't tarnish him. (He will long for him forever, though, she was right for that.)
But.
But it's starting to wear on him, because he's weak, and his emotions are bubbling up, threatening to burst. Because it hurts, the pure fact of how pathetic he is.
Because the detective in him is too strong. Because he knows Jon is starting to catch feelings too.
And he can't. He won't. He won't taint him.
So, he's decided. After tonight? He's done. He can't keep doing this. For Jon's reputation, for Jon's safety, he must stop this. He must cut the cord.
He listens to Jon's slow, satiated breathing for a few more seconds, memorizing the sound, before sitting up and getting out of bed, grabbing his pants off the floor.
He doesn't say anything, even when he clocks that Jon is stirring behind him. Doesn't look at him either, just grabs a hoody that he realizes too late to remove that it's Jon's. Shoves his actual shirt in his bag and anything else he finds that might be his, that he shouldn't leave behind in Jon's apartment.
He's just past the room's doorway, when Jon - smarter than ever given credit for - softly whispers:
"I love you."
Damian freezes, closes his eyes, bows his head. Tries to tell himself it's a tactic. Jon's only saying it to make him get back in bed. To make Damian sleep, and rest, his self-proclaimed favorite thing to do during these meet ups.
"I'm sorry." is all Damian can breathe out.
There's a second of silence in the darkness. Jon is still curled up in the blankets on the bed. He has not moved. Damian knows he won't.
"Don't you love me too?"
Tears pool behind Damian's closed eyelids.
More than the sun. More than the Earth. I'd burn down kingdoms and governments and multiverses for you.
But instead, he takes a careful step forwards, walking as calmly, as quickly, as he can towards the front door, and lets out an agonizing sob of:
"No."
~~~
(obviously, they're adults. Based off some of the lyrics/vibe of 'Love In The Dark' by Adele. I don't know why I wrote this scene, tbh. Just needed some angst. 😅 )
And Jon, who knows Damian's heartbeat and can tell he's lying. So he does the only thing he knows how.
And that's how Damian spends a year on an island, kidnapped by Jon.
WIP of my LoA!Damian and Superman!Jon au. When I tell you guys I'm so in love with this scene:
Damian settled into a narrow alleyway between a pizzeria and a barbershop, resting his back against the sand-coloured wall of the barbershop.
It took twenty minutes for Jon to appear, his body a hot line against Damian’s.
“Nice touch with the truth serum,” Damian said, head leaned back so he could look up at the stars and the power lines going between the buildings.
“Good job on not getting shot,” Jon shot back, grabbing a pack of cigarettes from the pocket of his leather jacket, and poking one between his lips.
“Need a light?” Damian asked, following the line of Jon’s side profile with his eyes.
“Nah,” Jon said around the cig, digging around in his other pocket to find a Zippo lighter, “I don’t smoke,”
You mean to tell me this is Damian's son, Alfred, and not in fact a de-aged Jon????
I see you DC artists
He looks IDENTICAL to Jonathan in the Super Sons series 💖
I love it when someone else makes my point for me😌
Look at those two pictures, they're the same picture.
