Allison smiled, “Painting, that’s neat.  Can I see the pictures you plan to do… I mean if they’re not private or anything.”

"I can just show you the books" he said, preferring not to show her anything from his phone. And he did so right away by pulling a book that he needed and showing her what he meant.

Allison watched him closely, but decided that he was probably just shy about his art.  She knew she would be too if a random stranger suddenly wanted to see something she made. 

"Okay. Sure."

  "No. I’m taking pictures of drawings so I could then paint them myself at my own time" he explained as he looked them over. "I still have to take two more, so if your books fall again I’ll be here" he explained and put the phone back before offering a small smile.

"I already am" he said as he was grabbing the books that weren’t close to her. Once  he had collected those was when he put them on the desk with ease.

"No problem." he said in a neutral tone. Nasir quickly took his phone out and checked how many pictures he had and how many were left.

Allison motioned to the phone, "Are you waiting on a call or something?" She fixed the stack of books so that the spines were straight.  "You don't have to stick around with me, I'm not keeping you am I?" Allison was suddenly very aware of her words and her actions and Nasir's actions. 

He didn't seem nervous or in a hurry so then why was he checking his phone?

hey everyone!  sorry my activity’s been so spotty the last couple of days. im prepping for one last summer huzzah before it’s back to the mindless public education system.  i’ll be out in the wilderness for the next week and will have very limited internet and if i do it’ll be on mobile so i won’t have access to gifs - so the allison action will at a minimum.  i think i’m all caught up on my paras but if you’re awaiting a response just shoot me a message.  hope everyone is well

  Nasir took another book, taking another picture with his phone as soon as he found what he needed. However, his ears were filled with the noise of her books falling. “You need help?” he asked as he placed his book back. He only needed two more pictures, but he could get them after helping her.

"Oh..." Allison brushed her hair behind her ear and fumbled with the books, "Yeah, if you won't mind..." She haphazardly grabs as many as she can and heaves them back onto the table.  

As Nasir approaches to help her, Allison gets a better look at him.  Something seems a little off putting, Allison lived in Beacon Hills long enough to not put the supernatural behind anyone.  He seemed nice enough though, even if a little stand offish. 

"Thanks."

  "Likewise" he said in a neutral tone and pulled out his phone as soon as he found what he needed. He then took various pictures of it, in different angles before putting the book back. "Aren’t those too many books that you have there?" he asked as put the book back.

Allison looked to the desk with all the books that she had grabbed from the shelf, it did look like it was ready to topple over at any second. "Probably." Allison moved toward the desk to fix the shelf and as she does sends the pile of books on the Hundred Years' War sliding to the floor. "Oh, this is embarrassing..." Allison mumbles to herself as she bent down to pick up the books.

  Nasir glanced sideways and saw her hand. He was hesitant for a second, but shook it nevertheless. “Nasir” he said and let the link broke sofly before he went back to his book.

"Nice to meet you..." Allison trailed off because she suddenly got the feeling that she was bothering Nasir.  She did not mean to be a bother, but the truth was she was really, really, bored... that and everything in Beacon Hills had seemed to change while she was gone and she was still trying to relearn names and meet all the new comers.

"I started late. I don’t care about that. Whether you end early or end late, it is the same thing. You don’t get special recognition for it" or so he thought. Back in North Carolina he was ahead of the class in most subject. It was the requirement as a child in his house, though that was more of a requirement from his mother than his father. His father didn’t care much about grades. He did care about something else, which was something he couldn’t give him.

"Hrm.  I suppose so, I've just got a lot of plans and want to get to them faster I guess." Allison puts a book back on the shelf. "I'm Allison by the way." She holds out a her hand.  The guy seemed friendly enough, even if a little jaded by the school system.

  Nasir put a book back and couldn’t help hearing the girl complaining about how busy she was.

"Curse of summer students" was all he said as he passed by hair and put the book back, taking another one next to it and checking up on it to see if he could get the information he was looking for.

Allison looked to the guy passing her, "Just trying to get ahead so I can graduate early." She said.  He was right too, most summer students were the ones making up classes, Allison wasn't as smart as Lydia but she certainly had not failed any of her classes.

She wondered what the guy was doing here anyway.  He probably was a summer student as well.

  Yeah, the whole nervous thing… it’s a bad habit, just kind of happens, sorry. [he motions to her fidgeting] Looks like it’s contagious. I’m not making you nervous, am I?

Stoves? Probably not, but I live off campus so I’m afforded the luxury of a kitchen. I mean, one that I don’t have to share with an entire dormitory’s worth of people. Not that I really even use it as much as I probably should, but I don’t know, I’d had enough of the dorm experience back in Michigan. I don’t know how it works here but students had to live in the dorms their freshman year and I ended up living in the dorms my sophomore year, too, so I’m pretty spent on the whole dorm living thing. [he pauses] Sorry. Sorry, I sort of, uh… I sort of ramble a lot of times, too. Bad habit.

Wow.  You're lucky.  I wish I lived off the campus, but with traveling so much it's so impractical to get an apartment and then leave again in two months.  The landlord won't like that very much.  

Don't worry about it, everyone here in Beacon Hills has some kind of quirk. [she laughs] Rambling isn't the worst thing I've heard of.

  No, should be fine. Wait, do you… I mean, I’m not like, keeping you or anything, am I?

Oh no.  Not at all! [Allison fidgets nervously] It's just you seemed nervous, like you had... and I mean the last thing I want to happen is your dorm to burn down... 

Wait... do we even have stoves in our dorms?

"Ever since I've been back it's been studying non-stop..." Allison muttered to herself while she reached for a book off the top shelf of the library's history section. "I need time to go out sometime... but everyone is always busy..." 

She turns and looks at the stack of books already on the study desk behind her, "Well, I guess I am too..."

Will do.  So, I've got to get to class.  Got a huge project on the rise of absolutism under Louie XIV!  Wish me luck!

  [He nodded.] I’ll call you if anything happens. It seems like things are picking back up again and that means it’s going to be crazy for a while again. [He groaned.]

Yeah, call me first if you find a dead body. [Allison grined] I'll keep a watch on Kate... she thinks I'm still in shock... which I guess I am. Sort of.

It's just a lot to process right now... I'm still trying to sort things out... you know that I didn't really see her last on the best of terms...
