SILVER BULLET: A Newsletter

Wow, guys! It's been a long, long time! I've been real busy, just not with the game. Unfortunately, I have some... news to share...

You see, a lot has been happening behind the scenes, and this little game about a teen in a dream world with a white puffball is now unrecognizable. And, truth be told, I don't want to work on the game anymore. The story is cliché, and it's mostly just stolen ideas. Plus, I really should've actually thought and tried to make something before announcing the game right away (How long ago was it now? A year? Two?). And so, I sadly announce that this game is not coming out, and likely never will...

This game, in particular. Let's just say you might get to see some of this idea in future projects.

So, what are the characters doing now?

Well, Olive is probably back with @jfjustjackie, for now.

Peter, as mentioned before, passed away. One morning he was found with his ribcage torn into like a bag of chips and his intestines removed.

And Gage... Well, they were found a few days before they were supposed to leave for college, with half of their head bashed in, covered in cuts and bruises. It seems to be self-inflicted,.

(The in-universe explanation for why the game won't happen is because of both Gage and Peter's deaths.)

SILVER BULLET Summer(?) Newsletter: The Squeakual!

Well, not very much of a "summer" newsletter, but I digress.

Sorry it's so late, school has been taking all my time.

Anyways, before we talk about development, I need to say something.

Peter has passed away.

We are holding a funeral for him. Gage doesn't seem to care, though.

We are replacing Peter with another character from @jfjustjackie, Jade!

In terms of development, I also need to actually start making the game. Like I said, school sucks. I have most of the game planned, though. It will play like a mix between OMORI and Mario And Luigi: Dream Team/Super Paper Mario.

I fucking suck at making games, I want to make this into a comic but I can't draw either.

Like, I suck at coding, I'm about to have no time to work on the game now that school is back, I'm fine with drawing I guess, but just...

There's like a million problems making it so my dream game/comic/story I've had the idea of for years can't be made...

(Important note: Olive is aware that Jade is her creator. All of my characters are aware that they are my creations to twist and bend how I see fit.)

"...Gage, what are you doing!?"

(Gage knows their place as my flesh puppet. They are aware I made them and know they cannot stop me with what I do to them. Although I have a few other characters, I mainly use them.)

[Olive:] Oh, oh, that's a good one!

[Jade:] Pffthehehe- I know, right? He can be SUCH an idiot!

NOW, IT IS THAT TIME AGAIN!

~SILVER BULLET: Summer Newsletter P1~

Bit of a smaller one, because my birthday is in a few days (Aug 11), and so I will post part two after.

Lets get right into today's content!

In terms of progress (of the game itself), we have no progress.

The game is going through the planning and writing stage, as the story and how the game itself plays is still being figured out. The story in particular is being rewritten from hell and back, to make it less of just a copy of my latest hyperfixation, OMORI. Basically, we are back at square one. However, a lot of the game is planned, just not playable. Full, actual development will likely start around when school comes back, early fall. The game will probably take place in summer or fall, as the main character is just a kid.

I have the main art stuff figured out, as well.

The main artstyle will be pixel art, of course. Much like OMORI, certain things will also be drawn. but, instead of OMORI's much better hand-drawn art, I will have to settle with digital art. I made some pixel art and grabbed some of my newer drawings, as examples of what the game might look like, here they are!

On a last note, I am redesigning and changing the characters a bit. Expect more on that soon.

SILVER BULLET NEWSLETTER:

Well, hey guys. Been... so... long... since I've seen you all.

But I'm baaaaaaack! Back with a newsletter! And I have done so little since I've talked to you guys. Uh, let's talk about that.

So, in terms of game development, it gone backwards. However, i have gotten ideas, lots of ideas. the game is way more inspired by Omori now, and that's a good thing.

After i type out this newsletter, I'm going to begin re-coding the engine.

So, the team has a new party member! @jfjustjackie's OC: Olive Scott! Her playstyle is more like a tank. High HP, hits well. She also has a healer move.

Oh, also I have a new idea for the battle system. Have a look!

So, to explain: It's kind of like FNAF world, your attacks are always choosable, and the enemy auto attacks. You just have to know what to do and spam. And special moves like healing cost energy (or whatever name i choose), which you get by attacking and stuff.

Each character's special moves are as follows: one sort of emotion-based move (like Omori, @jfjustjackie's idea). Such as Olive's special #1, Pester, which makes the enemy's DEF low, and ATK high.

Special 2 is unique to the character, and mostly involve special things. Such as Gage's #2, Flirt, which makes the enemy unable to attack for a few seconds but costs a quite bit of energy.

Anyways, I know I said something about moving the game to Godot, but I think I will be keeping it in Turbowarp. The only reason I even thought about Godot is because it was free, and my friend kept telling me to use it. I also thought about using a RPGmaker alternative called "WOLF RPG EDITOR". But I got confused. I know Turbowarp way better than anything else, so I can do more.

Anyways, I would like to end this newsletter off with the rewritten story for SILVER BULLET.

SILVER BULLET is an RPG inspired by games like OMORI and UNDERTALE. You play as Gage, a depressed and anxiety ridden human-like thing, and Olive Scott, their always happy female roommate(?) inside of Gage's strange dreams that he uses to escape the real world, his depression, and mysterious events from his past. In the dream, he meets an old OC he made years ago: Peter, a short little guy that looks like a ball of fur.

Oh, also something is stalking Gage.

Anyways, I'm going to go sleep and tomorrow I will start working on the engine.
