my pain doesn’t make me stronger it makes me crueler ;
I don’t know how to stay tender with this much blood in my mouth
emma tranter | excerpt from my heartless girls zine, coming soon (via fairytalephoenix)
Remember that I’m still a monster. I can listen to you scream and cry and beg and I still won’t let you out.

She was like a sword. Her tongue was sharp, she was always ready to fight She never showed fear Her eyes only ever showed determination.

I suppose it’s a family trait.

“You know, there’s been something weighing very heavily on my mind, lately…how can a grove be hollow?”
"Fascinating. Your mind really knows how to ask the important questions.”

“It’s good to be home.”
"I’m going to guess you haven’t heard. Because if you had, I can’t imagine you would be saying it’s good to be back.”
griffin-o-callahan:
Peering across the clearing with icy blue eyes, the large black furred wolf kept vigil over his surrounding. The sound of running water, of a small animal trampling through some foliage about fifteen years south echoed through its ears, pounded into them really. The beast shook its head violently as the noises seemed to get louder. Sniffing as if breathing rapidly, it caught something. A low growl escaped from its throat as it caught the scent of something chemical, a familiar scent, similar to the ones it detected on those human covers that were near it when it came to. Growling louder, The wolf sprung to its feet and on instinct alone, it lunged in the direction of that growing chemical scent.
Silviya heard the growl before she saw the wolf. Every muscle in her body tensed and she could feel her fangs poking at her gums. The vampire was threatening to claw her way out, to defend herself if necessary. After the recent wolf attack, there was every reason for her to be concerned at the sight of a wolf lunging in her direction. Thankful for her enhanced speed, the blonde distanced herself from the wolf and put her hands up in front of her. “I come in peace, or whatever,” she mumbled, preparing herself to run if the wolf decided he wanted to lunge her way a second time. No way was she leaving this world at the claws of a wolf.

“But I need my tongue, how else am I supposed to enjoy pasta and donuts?” She pouted playfully, her lower lip jutting out. “Drunk on a dare, actually.” Her pout turned into a smile as she started to laugh softly, “Thanks for the info mom but I could have used that advice about 48 hours ago.”
"I’ll steal you a feeding tube from the hospital.” She laughed at her own joke, because obviously, she couldn’t just go buy one. “See, those games sound fun at the time, but then things like this happen.” Her grin was teasing. “Excuse me for assuming that you were old enough to understand that large quantities of liquor lead to bad decision making. My bad. I’ll be sure to put it on a post-it note and stick it to your bathroom mirror next time. Last thing you need is to end up with a tattoo on your arse or a pierced lady part.”
callmevirge:
Virge glanced down and tilted her head before turning back to the bar, she grabbed another glass and quickly filled it, setting it down in front of the blonde. “Knowing everything about everything can make you really dull, real quick. It’s so much more fun to learn new things all the time.”
Silviya accepted her new glass with a grateful smile, proceeding to nod her head in agreement with the woman’s words. “That it certainly can. I find that, no matter how many years go by or how old I grow, my desire for learning new things never leaves me. I think that’s one of the few bright sides of being immortal. I get to keep on learning.”

“We clearly have a few things in common,” he said with a laugh.
Silver raised a brow. “You’re a pastor and you aren’t religious? Well, that is certainly interesting.” For once, the words were spoken without sarcasm.
minds-eye-of-a-storm:
“Why do you say that?” he asked genuinely interested in the strange statement. “I mean, other than because if I had known you back then, we’d not actually need to be having this conversation, of course.” It felt like there was something else to the way she had said that, though what it was Lachlan had no idea.
Lachlan nodded, agreeing with her on most levels. “I tend to prefer the quieter aspects of life. I don’t really care for people of any species,” he said with a shrug.
He’d found a few in this place that he didn’t did like. A couple wolves, a few vampires, even a witch or two, but for the most part Lachlan liked sticking to himself and being uninhibited by attachments. He had his one attachment and it was something he carried with him. No one needed to know about it or even concern themselves with it. Plus, attachments tended to get needy and he couldn’t handle that anymore.
To answer or not to answer, that was the question. Or rather, to give a serious answer or to not. Thing was, it wasn’t painful to speak of the terror she had caused in France, but it left her feeling rather unlike herself because it made her feel guilt and remorse. Not for killing humans, but for getting fellow vampires killed. “Because I shut off my humanity and terrorized a country... and I was not the one who suffered the consequences,” she eventually replied, shoulders lifting into a shrug afterward.
“You and me both, but a few of the people in this town have an obnoxious habit of being somewhat tolerable.” There were a few who she found more than tolerable, but admitting so aloud was not a step she was ready to take.
catriona-the-witch:
“I just think that the whole war was stupid, because they lived around all of us for so long, and people still knew, but everything was fine for so long. It’s just baffling, how people could just turn on people that look like them just because they’re different. I don’t know why this is bothering me all of a sudden.” She admitted with a laugh, picking at her nail polish lightly. “I think it would be worth the risk. I mean, if I can’t go now when can I? It’s not like things are gonna get better overnight. And I’ve always wanted to see Italy, and Greece, and England. Everywhere, really. So I guess that’s something to look into. I think it’s hardwired into my fight or flight. Every time I think I’m in danger it starts, so I’ll have to work on training that out of me. But you’re right, I can’t live life scared forever.”
"The whole war was stupid and it’s bothersome because it isn’t fair that we have to keep hidden from the rest of the world. As long as we’re keeping the peace and not terrorizing countries, I don’t see what the big deal is. Yes, we have our good and our bad ones, but humans do, too and there are a lot of supernaturals who have every right to be living among them peacefully just like before.” She wouldn’t claim that all of them had that right. Herself included, because her past behavior could have threatened the peace, but still, though they were all powerful in their own ways, not all of them were evil. “I know it’s worth the risk. I’m not trying to say this to be pessimistic, but things may not get better ever, so why not take the chance, yeah? It would be a shame for anyone to die knowing that they didn’t get to experience some, or most, of what they wished to while they were alive. Those are all beautiful places. I’d suggest adding Spain to that list. And England? Parts of it can be a bit wet, but oh, does it hold a special place in my still heart.” Or, at least, it had, once upon a time. “Well, it sounds like your body is saying fight, so perhaps teach it to only fight when necessary. I’d offer some assistance, but I’m not a witch. There aren’t a shortage of witches in the town, however. One of them can surely help you learn to control it better. You could, but it would certainly be a shame if you did and only manage to make your life not half as amazing as it could be.”
drifterwolflombardi:
Just being in her presence, it’s a natural pull and want to be close to her. it wasn’t unlike Raphael to spend more than one night with someone, and damn if he was going to pass up a second night with Silver. Both of them had apparently been on same page with that, unable to ignore the insatiable first night. How he’s even managing to keep this distance even now is a mystery to him. “I don’t know about happy, but it’s a coincidence either way. Sicily just… isn’t my life anymore, though not by choice. At least you’re doing better than I am on that front.” It had been extremely hard not being where he was born and spent all of his life, but Hollow Grove was growing on him. Her words of being at a place where they don’t have to run has him looking at her curiously, making him wonder if she’s been in the line of fire of anyone. But he doesn’t ask either. Not yet anyway. His own lips follow suit with hers, getting more of a smile before starting to lead her over to the bar. The wolf back in the day wouldn’t have thought twice to get her alone in the bathroom or in a back room first followed by an invitation to his home later that night, and maybe that thought lingers a bit now. Instead, he’s helping her up on a stool and halfway sits on the one beside her, letting the bartender know that whatever she’s drinking tonight is on him. “So is this just another place you’re visiting or you’re living here?”
There was a sort of envy she felt as she caught that sound in his tone when he mentioned Sicily, like he was speaking of something he missed deeply. The vampire couldn’t recall the last she had missed something that much. Any place she had once held close to her heart only made her feel anger when thinking of them, because the thoughts were reminders of everything-- of everyone-- she had lost. “I wouldn’t say better, but I’ve adjusted. Leaving London behind was hard at first, but I knew choosing this life meant leaving the old one behind. I guess it’s just different because I’m so far removed from the human who grew up there.” London was, as far as she was concerned, a distant memory, and it was only when she felt the pull to visit her daughter’s grave that she seemed to find her way back, only to leave again. Malaki had been the only home she’d had since then and that home had been taken from her. Gaze shifting to focus on Raphael once more, she allowed those thoughts to leave her. An action that was not too complicated, given that her current company proved to be an excellent distraction. Even with his clothes on. Once she had made herself comfortable on the stool, she ordered a glass of Bourbon, straight, lips curving into another smile as she said, “Thank you.” There was a pause before she answered his question. It was a question that would not have required much thought nearly half a year earlier, but things were different now and she was beginning to realize that she, too, was somewhat different. “I wouldn’t say I’m living here, but I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon, if that counts. I suppose I’ve grown rather fond of this little town--- and yourself? Is this just a stop along the way to somewhere else?”
