“Well lets get you one.”
“That sounds like the best idea anyone's ever had.”
( tj--sharpe )
“Actually its TJ.” He stated, with a small chuckle. He felt the same way, and couldn’t believe that she was standing in front of him now. It had seem like it was awhile go, but it really wasn’t. Life back in New York, was a bit well different then right now. “Hi. It has been.” He said, with another small chuckle. Glancing over at the stroller, and then back towards the redhead. “Kids? Really?” Well that was unexpected. But at this point, he wasn’t sure what expected, he just knew it wasn’t this.
“Funny.” She mumbled, her lips pulling up at the edges into the hint of a smile. She could see that he hadn't lost any of his sense of humor, and she laughed at his reaction to the twins. Those who had known her back then - well, she hadn't been fit to be a mother in the state that she had been in. Drinking and smoking every night of the week, losing herself in drug induced hazes when she could - it was someone she couldn't recognize. Not anymore. “Kids, yeah. Saoirse and Brennan.” She said with a laugh, pointing to each of them. “And, well. I'm engaged now.”

“Yup. Growing up my parents use to make my brother and i learn, study spells in Latin it was very, fun”
“I don't know about fun, but it could be worse.” She said with a teasing grin, nudging him lightly.

She had started to learn never to doubt her mind. She convinced herself, frequently, that lack of sleep was getting to her. There wasn't any other reason to be hearing familiarly tinged thoughts, minds that she had known at one point or another. More and more often, however, it was proven that they really had come back. Ghosts, floating into the town limits, bringing back memories of whatever person she had been back at the point they had known each other. She felt one such presence now, as she sat in the cafe, completing orders for the shop, her foot absentmindedly nudging the stroller back and forth, keeping its occupants lulled and satisfied in their sleep. Glancing up, she caught sight of a recognizable head of blonde hair, and she blinked, calling his name before she could stop herself. “Scout.”

She’d been sitting for hours with a bunch of pamphlets in front of her, copious amounts of tea being delivered whilst she browsed apartments in her budget. The Inn was fine, but she had to move into something else, something more permanent she supposed. But, she’d never really had to find permanent housing before, and she felt the loss of her parents more keenly as she flicked another page, wishing that she had them here to help through the complicated process. “Why is this so damn hard?” she said to no one in particular, eyeing the papers in a growing panic.
“There's nothing worse than apartment shopping.” Cat said with a small laugh, setting herself in an empty chair, eyeing the pamphlets in front of the brunette. “This is a good one.” She pointed out, fingers snagging the bright pamphlet and pulling it out of the pile. “I know a few people who live there. Good prices for what you get, and the neighbors aren't savages.” She had hated apartment shopping so much that she had resolutely refused to find an apartment in the city, choosing instead to live in the back of her shop. “This one,” she said, resting her fingers on a different pamphlet, “isn't bad, but everyone who lives there is kinda uppity.”

“I love your hair, evil and all,” Maddy laughed. “And it’s nothing exciting. I’m not sleeping with him or anything. He’s actually my eighty year old landlord. He’s sweet. I bring him special brownies and he pays for bail. It’s a pretty nice set up if you ask me.”
“Good. You’ll be seeing a lot more of it.” She liked Maddy, and she could use more people around her who encouraged her to let loose every now and then. “Sounds like an excellent setup to me. Especially the brownies.”
( lucydanvers )
“Awh I see.” Lucy nodded her head in understanding at Cat’s words as she tried to picture what that was like. Probably something close to a wolf after turning the first few times or trying to heal after a gnarly injury. Witch’s magic was a thing of intrigue to Lucy, there was so much that they could do with their magic that fascinated Lucy and also completely terrified her at the same time. It was not something she cared to mess with. “ That makes sense. Have you ever met anyone who has the same power as you, or maybe someone who has explored them a bit further?” Lucy asked curiously. She’d learned everything that she could from wolves much older than she and they’d taught her from their experience. It had been monumental in building her up to be the fighter that she was today. “Maybe that new Supreme of yours has met someone who has? I crossed paths with her more than a few times in the past, always running with different witches.”It was intriguing and terrifying all at the same time to Lucy. “It fucking blew.” She admitted with a chuckle. “I’m not cut out to be bed ridden.” She confessed. “Keep in mind it took me a good 100 plus years to come to that realization, I’ve also been pretty shut off emotionally since I was 16 so that probably helps and is not entirely healthy.”
“I haven't, though I haven't really asked around town who has what. I’m sure someone around here has something similar. Though, it gets tricky. It seems like everone’s powers are just slightly different. Built to fit each person, almost, like it's genetically different.” She wished that she could've spoken to her Uncle, just once. He had been the brother with the powers, while her father remained entirely human. She didn't doubt that her father wished he could have asked questions as well, when it came to his toddler daughter reading the thoughts of everyone in a twenty foot radius. Her family had been torn apart before she had been old enough to know it, and then it had been torn apart again, throwing her into adulthood long before she should've been. “That's a good thought, I’ll talk to her about it the next time I see her.” Issy probably knew everyone's powers at this point, what with her work building a coven from the ground up. “I can definitely sense that.” She said with a small grin, glancing over at the blonde. She reminded her so much of Scarlett, and Daralis. That lithe grace that betrayed the ability to kill almost anyone that crossed their path without batting an eyelash. It was something to fear, for anyone who had any brain capacity. “It probably isn’t, no. But I’m not entirely the poster child for healthy coping strategies.”
( nicholasxadler )
“Probably, let’s not experiment with that shall we? I don’t want to risk it.” he replied with a chuckle, laughing a little harder when he picked up the irish slang and the accent. “Oh aye, am I just a wee lad?” he teased lightly as he followed behind and sat down opposite her as she chose a table. “I’ve always been a gentleman, it was how I was raised.” he replied, pretending to be offended should she think otherwise.
“Aye, ye are.” Was all that she responded, cutting off the impulse to call him things in Gaelic that would've made her mother wash her mouth out with soap. She wouldn't have meant them, not really, and that would've have bothered her, had she not known that he was only looking to get a rise out of her. “I’m sure. You don't act like it very often, but I’m sure. If you’re not careful though, people will start talking about it.”
( lukasblackwells )
Having someone who disliked him wasn’t a new experience for Lukas. He and the fiery red head had never seen eye to eye, and Lukas had no qualms with adding fuel to the fire. Not only was there no risk to him for poking the bear, the angrier Cat got at him the more fun he had with it. Her reaction to simply seeing him had a smirk growing on his lips. “Who?” He played clueless, stopping to look around in mock search of the person she was talking about. “Me?” He placed a hand over his heart and gave a gasp. “You’re talking about me, aren’t you?” A wink was added at the end of his rhetorical question. “Good to hear you’re still thrilled to see me.”
She narrowed her eyes at him, her jaw clicking together audibly. She wasn't in the mood to deal with him today any more than she was in the mood to deal with him at any other point. Something about him made her skin crawl, and she despised any time spent within close quarters with him. “I don't see anyone else around here, do you?” She asked, her accent growing thicker with her irritation. Her father had always flushed red, his accent deepening, and she, the spitting image of Connor O’Shea, was doomed to the same telltale signs. “Unfortunately I was. I’d rather be talking about anyone else, up to and including a dead animal, but we don't always get what we want, do we?” She asked with a tilt of her head, rolling her eyes at his words.

Isabelle mustered the best smile that she could manage. Her mind wondered and most days it went to the worst possible places and she hated that. It was impossible to stop. She knew that being with someone like Jamie meant coming to terms with moments like these, this was who he was, this was what he cared about but it didn’t make it any less hard for her. “It’s hard not to.” She confessed. “Well crazy is something I do so well.” She offered with a shrug of the shoulders. “I’m sure he’ll be fine.” She said trying to convince herself more than anyone.
“I know.” She said again, smiling slightly at Issy’s next words, though she knew that the girl was in no mood for any attempts at humor. “He will be.” She knew Jamie, and she knew the strength and determination that he possessed. Someone who had changed the lives around him for the better, he was someone that could never be replaced. Someone that made things better just by being there. “Do you want to do something to take your mind off of it all?”

Sophia’s cheeked warmed at the mention of Vince and she nodded her head in agreement. Cat truly had no idea how true her words were. She’d been in love with Vince she was only just a girl, so young and innocent, since then she’d only grown to love him more in spite of all the bad that come to pass over the years. “That he is,” Sophia said with a wistful sigh. “We’re very lucky to have him, aren’t we Max,” Sophia said as she smiled down at the little boy. Since deciding to stay in Hollow Grove, Vince had become an integral part of her and Max’s day to day life. They had formed their own little family and it gave her strength in times like these. Sophia looked up at Cat and she shrugged. “I’d say we’re the lucky ones.” She admitted. “These little ones offer so much happiness in this life,” Sophia confessed and her heart ached at the idea that she’d never get to experience the joy of having her own children but she quickly reminded herself that these little ones were just as precious to her. “Oh no,” Sophia said with a chuckle. “No more puppies for Max, he’s got a whole house of them. Come over for a pack meeting some time and see for yourself.”
She smiled as Sophia talked about Vince, and she felt a happiness in her heart that they were both getting what they deserved. Vince, he was so overwhelmingly good. So supportive, and kind, and genuine; the kind of person that appeared only once in a lifetime. He had done good for her that she would have never been able to do herself, picking her up in her darkest moments and showing her that she had more to live for. “They do. I - it’s something I never thought I would have. I always wanted a big family, and having the twins and knowing that there's a whole future of time to have more, it's odd. It's not something I ever saw as a certainty, no matter how much I wanted it. And to have it now, it just all seems like some kind of dream.” It was a good feeling, even in the same way that it made her feel like she would wake up. But that was who she was - a realist, but an optimist. She knew what could happen, but she hoped that none of it would. She hoped purely for the happiness of her family, but knew t could be taken from her. It was a fine line to walk. “I can only imagine. I don't know how you do it.”
( meg-cass )
“Nothing out of the ordinary,” Meg replied with a smile from behind the counter where she sat. "Mixed some potions, sold some herbs, gave some advice on spells. Y'know, just general witchy business.“ To say she was overjoyed when Cat had asked her to watch the shop was an understatement. As much as she adored her new job role at Blackwell Media, Meg missed the apothecary and her former boss turned friend. When Meg first moved to town, Cat had taken a chance on her, knowing nothing about who she was or the past that lay behind her, and had offered her a position working in the apothecary based solely on the fact that she was a witch. It was Cat who’d opened up a future for Meg in Hollow Grove, and for that, Meg would be forever grateful to the fiery haired witch. “Busy day?” she asked, noticing the tired look in her friend’s eyes.
“Sounds like you had it all under control.” She said with a small smile, knowing that Meg always did. It was easy for her to trust the other woman knowing as she did that she was good at keeping the apothecary running. The day to day, that was what Cat couldn't always manage. Orders, and stocking, those she could do at night when the kids were asleep, or spending time with Silas. But to deal with customers, she didn't always have the luxury of enough time for that, and Meg had become a god-send to her. “Ugh, God, I didn’t think that it would end.” She groaned, tipping her head backwards and pressing her fingers to her temples. “Between the kids needing to go to the doctor and the dogs having to forcibly be dragged to the vet, I wasn't so sure we were going to survive it.”

She was relieved to see that it was a familiar face coming into the clearing. Avery was far from trusting the other witch with all her deepest and darkest secrets, but she didn’t seem like the type to judge someone for their magic. “Sorry, you startled me,” she replied with a small smile, shaking her hands slightly and making the tendrils disappear like smoke in the wind. It was a little habit she had from when she was a child, as though she were physically getting rid of the magic rather than it being an exercise of her mind. “I didn’t think anyone would be out here,” she shrugged.
“I could say the same.” She said with a small laugh, still watching the black smoke on the other witches arms. She saw, with a jolt of familiarity, that Avery rid herself of her magic in the same way that Cat did. Her hydrokinesis lived in her veins, and all she had to do was call it to mind. But she had never been able to resist shaking it to her hand, flexing her fingers to draw on it as though it was just another muscle that she needed to stretch. “I didn't either. I was just clearing my head.” She explained, waving vaguely in the direction of the trees. “That was, uh. Some trick.”

“Pfft, please honesty trumps politeness when it comes to food.” she replied, she knew her skills were bad enough when it came to baking to not be offended. “Absolutely, it’s my one rule of being my friend. I use it as an icebreaker, you like beer? No? Too bad, could’ve-been-friend, move along.” she laughed a little, it was definitely not how she made friends, but it was somewhat close.
“I wish everyone thought like that. Last time I made a less-than-stellar comment about someone’s cooking skills it didn't end very well.” From what she recalled, food was thrown. “That's how we did it in Ireland. We’d set a pint of Guinness in front of them, and if they drank it they were welcomed, and if they didn't we set them out on their asses.”
( milesdexn )
“I just care about you, you’re my friend, I’m just being a good friend” he shrugged with a small smile, he had heard that a few times, that he was sweet, and a few other compliments, but because he could be insecure, he couldn’t exactly agree to the person, even if he wasn’t insecure, he could be pretty modest too, so not even then he would agree, probably just thank them. The fact he was insecure, kind of stopped him to think like she did. “That’s amazing, I’m so glad that you have someone like him, you deserve that, because from what I’ve seen so far, you seem to be a really nice girl’
“You definitely succeed at that.” Cat said the words with a small giggle, glancing over at him. He was kind, and a good friend, and she couldn't say that enough. For someone who didn't know her incredibly well, he was exhibiting an excitement for her happiness that made her heart swell. For all that she had gone through in town, moments like these made it all worth it in the end. “I appreciate that.” She smiled, beaming, as she glanced at the ring again. “It's nice to hear that.”
( cassandracresswell )
“Of course he did.” She laughed at the sequence of events. There were some people hearing that from would make her nervous but it fit perfectly and made the proposal all the more adorable to hear about. The more she heard, the more thrilled Cassie was for her friend. A wide smile on her lips. “Without a doubt, I’d say she’d think that you’re doing amazing.” Giving one Cat one last gentle squeeze she released her hold and moved back. Cat was one of the greatest people that Cassie had ever had the privilege of meeting. “I’m so glad that I was walking by. This is the best news I’ve heard in a while.”
“I hope so.” More than anything, she longed for her parents. She had done what she could to make her peace with their deaths, but moments like those, all she wanted was to hear her mother's laugh and her father's loud joking. It had only ever been the three of them, but the house had never felt anything less than full of love and laughter. “I’m glad you were, too. You were one of the first people I thought of telling, once I was capable of a coherent thought again.” She grinned as she said it, leaning to bump her shoulder against Cassie’s.
( gideonhenry )
“That’s the best kind of love.” He sombered up slightly and shrugged. “I’m okay. I’m all healed up, which is nice.”
“I’m sure it is.” She said with a small smile, one that was smaller due to her worry about Cassie. “She's going to be okay, won't she?”
