It was a wednesday afternoon, Drelyn had just finished dealing with stock and delivery for the week at her shelter. Today there were only about half as many folk as usual staying in her beds. She wondered if her staff was behaving themselves as well as they should have lately...
Drelyn sighed and thought of how she could inspect her employee’s work performance. ‘how dreadful’ she thought as she reclined in her office chair. From where she was sitting in the lobby she could see a few people walking by on the busy street outside. Actually, now that she was paying attention she noticed someone was approaching the shelter to come in.
The brunette adjusted herself in her seat, now adopting a welcoming posture and a hospitable smile. “Hello there! Is there anything I can help you with today?”

It didn’t occur to the brunet that blood seeping through his target’s shirt was, in fact, his sister’s handiwork. Instead, Eriyn laughed loud and confident at his ability to make the man bleed like him. At least, he did laugh until the criminal teetered towards him.
Great—he just cleaned blood from his shirt, too! Still, he was sure who’s fault this was.
❝What was that? You couldn’t have shot the man before he touched me? You know my face is OFF LIMITS.❞
The younger of the two shouted at his sister with fervour, arms shoving back against the limp body in front of him. While he drew out a heavy sigh, Eriyn let his arms cross over his chest and sharpened his stare at the woman.
❝You enjoyed my suffering! How could you, we are ALMOST a team! To think—all the things I do for you…❞
Drelyn began laughing as she finished her descent. “Oh dearest brother, I thought you would appreciate it If i let you play a little first is all!” she broke out into a sharp grin and walked over to where her sibling and the corpse that would reward them both.
“Don’t get so worked up about it. The man is gone, we will get our reward.” as she spoke her laughter settled down. she walked over closer the the dead man and nudged his body with her heeled boot. “How much is this one worth anyway? Is it another contract from that man who lives in that awful gated community? I’d like to visit there again if so.”
She nudged the man so that his corpse rolled over onto it’s stomach, once she had him facing that way Drelyn leaned down and took out the man’s wallet from his pocket. “Only carrying 20? Either a smart man or just pathetic.”

A smug smirk found its way across his lips, eyes bright with pride. Of course he was right—he was always right when it came to his job. No, scratch that, he was never wrong. That’s why when the sister of his steered into the shaded forestry, he followed with no hesitation. It was only fair that the confident expression fell from his face not long after. A cottage? That was their clue? What a murky little place for a witch to hide, he mused. Then again, he had several run-ins with a dangerous spell caster, one who lived in a similar abode. If anyone were to live in the wilderness it might as well be one with secrets to hide. And Eriyn loved to learn dirty secrets. ❝Of course they will! These sources have my trust—a privilege to be earned, you know.❞ Swinging one leg up and beside his other, the brunet’s form slipped gracefully from his horse. It took one swift move to pull the bow off his shoulder, eyes keen on finding the gruesome witch. As one hand worked to line up an arrow, his voice came out in a hushed tone. ❝You don’t suppose they’re powerful, Drelyn? The last time I faced one on my own, my hair was scorched at the tips. Oh! I have an idea—you go first.❞
What was he going to do? He didn’t hurt humans. Perhaps he could convince them he was not home. Couldn’t use magic for that. If they were hunters, they’d know rather easily. It would either be the best hiding place, or the worst. Or perhaps he could convince them he was normal if they did find him. Amin took a deep breath as he lowered himself into a wicker basket and pulled the lid over his head. he just thought it would be the most obvious human hiding place, so why would they have reason to think he was a witch?
Drelyn watched as her brother dismounted, following his cue and landing down upon the loosely packed soil below her. She hated when her brother used that smirk, it never meant any good for either of them. “Wipe that expression off your lips before you let your ego get the best of you.” she barked the words holding up a hand as she took a few steps ahead of him.
Dark green eyes met their livelier version in Eriyn as Drelyn made sure to get his attention. “Put your arrow back. We don’t know what’s up there, fool.” Drelyn huffed and turned towards the cottage once more. “If you were truly so fond of your hair one would think you’d show more caution.”
Once the huntress was satisfied ordering around her companion, she made the short journey to the front door of the cottage. She spared a glance to the frogs croaking in the pond, they had quieted slightly from the intrusion. A shiver ran up the brunette’s spine, but she brushed it aside as she knocked upon the wooden cottage door. Once, twice, three knocks delivered in a curt and to the point rhythm. “Residence of Amin? This is an emissary of the King’s court, May we have an audience?”
Witch hunt
A loud scoff was directed to his sister’s insinuation, hands slowly guiding his own horse to a stop. With his body turned towards her he pursed his lips in an exaggerated show of discontent regarding the maiming or murdering of his men. Eyes narrowed to give her a warning look.
❝Are you questioning my sources? I’ll have you know, this is a very solid tip!❞
❝I’d rather——what was that?❞
Green eyes shot forward in a hurry to scan the ever shrouded nature ahead of them. He saw nothing, at least nothing of interest. There were birds and a bit of light—so what? They were supposed to be on hunt for witches in the filth of trees.

He’d been alone in the woods for a few years, and no one had bothered him, so Amin had figured he was in the clear. He’d built himself a little homestead by a rather talkative frog pond. He didn’t mind the noise at all. In fact, he’d come to love their little chats.
With a bit of a waddle, he lumbered to the decent sized door to the heating element for his home. A fire was roaring as he tossed in more logs. Can’t have a cold home, especially not these chilly nights.
Just as he wiped his brow he heard a voice. A man’s voice.Swallowing hard, he quickly shut the door and locked it, hurrying inside to close his curtains.
Please please please just pass on by.
As Drelyn began to steer her mare closer to the source of light ahead she spared a quick glance towards her sibling, tilting her head to indicate he should follow. “The solidity of this tip you received is about to be proven” she scoffed after finishing her statement.
Leading the two further into the woods exposed a quaint cottage maybe 15 feet away, as they drew nearer the nearby glow drew Drelyn’s eye to a small frog pond near the property. ‘that’s definitely the place, witches always have vermin nearby’ she thought with a grimace pulling upon her lips.
“Erin, it appears your informant shall live to see another day whence we return to the city.”

silvergain deserves a starter
A punch here and a few ducks there. It was just another day for the bounty hunter, his eyes trained on the man before him. Eriyn was nearly bouncing on his feet to stay sharp while the crook swung his fists about.
He never expected the job to be easy, although some days he wished there was less fighting to it. A feeling which only served to amplify when the cheapskate took a dirty swing to his chin.
Wiping the lower half of his face on the back of his hand, Eriyn looked at the blood smeared upon it. He could count at least one open wound on his chiseled chin now. And if he wasn’t already fuming at the thought, he was definitely pissed to feel pain as his jaw worked open.
❝How could you—you just wracked up another charge! Leave the masterpiece alone, won’t you?❞
Drelyn watched her brother and the other man with amusement, her green eyes sparkling despite the shadows she took cover under. Usually Eriyn did much better than today, but she supposed it was in his character to slip up now and then.
Unlike her.
Drelyn smirked as she adjusted the scope on her rifle, getting the stranger lined up within her crosshairs. Once she ensured she wouldn’t graze Eriyn she pulled the trigger and watched the man go down. Quick, easy, efficient.
Drelyn cleaned up and, ensuring the safety was on, slung the weapon over her shoulder before climbing down the side of the building she was on.
Witch hunt
It had been nearly three days since Eriyn told her where the witch lived. It had been two days of travel, and it had been one day searching in this heavens forsaken forest.
“If It takes any longer to find this little hut you claimed exists, I’ll have to ask you who you got this little tip from.” Drelyn narrowed her eyes and her lips pulled up into a sneer. “I would love to arrange a meeting with them” Her fingers forming little claws around the word ‘meeting’ to indicate her true meaning.
She turned her head away from her sibling and faced the woods where she caught a glimpse of light peeking through the trees. Her green eyes widened as she pulled her horse to a stop. “Eriyn, I think I found something.”

Lola looks at her, stubbornness written in her features. She’s not about to admit anything to the seemingly random stranger. She shakes her head, “look, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The hunter took in the sight of the other woman and rolled her eyes, clearly this was going to be a difficult case. It wasn't as though this would be the first time she’d have to get creative in her research, however.
Drelyn sighed and held up the picture of her latest mark once more before repeating her question. “Surely if you may not know who this man is then at least you would know of someone who does?” She shifted her weight onto one leg before continuing. “He was seen around this area and I find it hard to believe that no one knows anything.”
