Sofia is the only daughter of a family of dedicated beach bums on the West Coast. She shares her family's love for the outdoors, particularly surfing, but wants more from life than surf and sand. You see, Sofia craves science.

Or perhaps I should say SCIENCE!

She's already completed her undergraduate work in biochemistry, but she's torn between her two loves, research and results. On one hand, medical research would allow her to hone the cutting edge of treatment, but an actual practice would allow her the human connection she craves.

Maybe Darwin can offer her some advice among his other assets? :D

Sofia does want to finish her degree before she gets too romantically serious; though she's definitely open to having some fun in the interim, so long as it sandwiches nicely between yoga and practicum.

Though, with the right partner, perhaps she won't have to rely quite so much on her yoga...

(Hopefully the .sim file and her assorted baggage have arrived as well!)

Here's my entry for ice-creamforbreakfast's bachelor challenge, here's hoping Robin and Adrian hit it off!

Basic Information:

Name: Adrian (formerly Adrienne and briefly Adri) Jones

It's been a strange ride for Adrienne/Adri/Adrian Jones...

Three names, three very different lifestyles, but Adrian is just happy to have come out the other side of her pampered beauty queen teens and troubled post-adolescence. Born Adrienne Jones to a doting but slightly toxic family, her loving mother fast-tracked the precocious girl on the pageant circuit. Adrienne enjoyed learning to play the violin for the talent portion of the events; everything else significantly less.

After getting her diploma, largely by correspondence, and winning the Miss Teen Simerica title, Adrienne caused shockwaves when she quit pageants and changed her name on her eighteenth birthday. Unfortunately, "Adri" had absolutely no idea how to cope with her newfound independence, and fell in with a less than optimal crowd. As for what happened next, it's not a pretty story. It's not one Adrian tells at all, really. The best thing to come out of her 21st birthday is her tattoo, the best thing from her 22nd was waking up in rehab.

Luckily, Adrian got clean, changed her name (yes, again; though hopefully this is the last go-round), and adopted the love of her life, a scruffy mutt named Luna. Adrian has her two year sobriety chip on her bedside table, her violin on her desk and the bakery she co-owns right below her apartment. It hasn't been the easiest path, but she's happy where she is now.

On a less serious note, Adrian enjoys baking (with plenty of butter), walking Luna in the park, particularly along the river, and playing the violin...reasonably well. She also is a voracious reader, making up for a lack of reading time during her teenage years. She loves Jane Austen, cliche though it might be, Christopher Moore, Neil Gaiman, and cheesy romance novels, particularly ones with a fondness for the word "throbbing".

As for why she's entering, Adrian hasn't had much luck on the dating scene for the past few years. Most of her relationships occurred during her partying phase, and couldn't continue once she'd sobered up. She's hoping to find a kindred spirit in Robin, maybe even something more...

I'm so ludicrously rusty at posing and taking pictures. Also, hi, not dead, just had to do a complete re-install and CC purge and then I've been eternally stuck in the Hinterlands.

(Everything is eggs and everything hurts.)

But! New thing forthcoming from me, and maybe I'll even resurrect The Pollygons, health and other stupid things permitting. I hope you all have had a lovely holiday season, and here's to us!

So hey, I'm Natalie, but you can call me Nattles. Well, if I like you. But I'll probably like you, I like most people, as long as they aren't totally toolish, understand the importance of recycling, and don't judge me for a possibly slightly obsessive tendency to quote TV shows.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd. I hope that doesn't bother you? I mean, if it does, why am I here, but you know, I'm guessing this show isn't so much with the philosophical bent. Honestly, If I'd been sober when my friend Jen decided I needed to apply for this, you probably wouldn't have gotten a video from me. But honestly, I make all my best decisions while tipsy.

Of course, I also make all my worst decisions when drunk. Fine line between genius and dipsomaniac.

I love books, cheap fruity wine, video games and hatewatching shows. If I could do anything, I'd join Rifftrax, but right now I'm settling for tech assisting in my university library and occasional bouts of hacktivism.

Now that I'm here, why not go for it though? You bring the lights, camera; I'll supply the action.

Natalie "Nattles" McConnell is a somewhat tardy entrant to the "Are You the One?" challenge that heavensims, who has been extremely patient, is putting on.

Update on the amazing, vanishing me:

I'm so sorry for just disappearing, but this last month has basically been spent at the doctor's office. Unfortunately, my bloodwork is not awesome. So, while I will try to check in at least a bit more frequently, I'm going to have to ask you to be patient until they figure out why I seem to have such bizarre results. And, if you can spare it, a few happy thoughts aimed vaguely in my direction wouldn't go amiss.

I saw minasavenue was looking for/allowing/inviting edits of a few of her pictures, and I thought it looked fun! Her originals are on the left, my edits are on the right. I wanted to play with color, mostly, though I did give the headshot a slightly cartoony tweak. Thank you for such lovely pictures, they were a pleasure to edit!

If anyone else is interested in either editing a picture of mine (I've still got the originals of all my posts, so you wouldn't have to start from my heavily edited place :P ) or having me go over a picture of your own, I'm game! Just let me know!

At least it’s only apples so far. Although, I turned my back and went to check on her later and she had four of them in her inventory. It’s only been a day, I am faintly concerned how many she’ll have by the end.
