Hair Tip #1 - When drawing hair, start with the hairline and hair part(s). Then keep the flow and volume in mind while you add details!
I’m not the best at drawing or painting hair, but someone on instagram requested that I make a post about it so hopefully this will help someone! This is the first of 3 tips I’m going to share.
I discovered something useful today, taking breaks or exercising never helps me but THIS does, sharing to save a life
I just found out that some pro artists that work for companies like Dreamworks etc sometimes hold their pens this or similar way so it gotta work. Recently I spent 5 days on drawing for long periods of time (we talk about min 5 hours in one go to max 12 hours long crunch) and not once did my hand bother me.
For any artist friendos ???

Hey. I’m gonna break down how to draw a Black/African/Dark Skinned person’s lips.
Hello! In celebration of a new year, I’m gonna show all of you a tip how to draw lips for Black/African/Dark Skinned people.
If you’re drawing a black/dark skinned person, the top lip is a slight step above or below their actual skin tone while the bottom lip can range from a faded pink to brown.
Black/African men’s and women’s lip lean towards “nude/palm of the hand” makeup color. Some cases it’s pink but everyone’s lip color varies from pink to brown. In my experience of going outside my house, the darker the person, the pinker the bottom lip is while the lighter brown skin lips will be closer to their actual skin tone.
Another note is that the pink /brown tone on the bottom of the lip is near the slit of the mouth, not the complete lip like lipstick makeup. Try adding different tones to a lip and blending both top and bottom lips together because everyone’s different! A very good detail to remember.
TL;DR: USE A REFERENCE. GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH DOESN’T BITE! Thank you for your time! Go out and draw them awesome dark skinned characters and people!

can you help me out? for some reason, i can't draw good looking arms. any tips?
I get asked a lot for tips with coloring black people, so i put together a little tutorial! (and bumps my kofi if you found this helpful)
Wow, this is super helpful and nice!
how do you make ur art look like its glowing?? it's gorgeous!!
I’ll give you a weird secret. After you put the glowing object on a dark background, surround the white parts with a halo of highly saturated color. Observe:
It doesn’t have to be that blatant- smaller outlines of color, blended properly with the background, can make an equally effective glow-y look :)
what you should and what you shouldn’t!!
THANK YOU!! <3 I’m always very bad in explaining what I’m doing. Cause there is just a lot of trying and painting over it and mashing and mixing colors until I feel it’s good. So I tried to show you. I hope this helps!
Hey friends! Meg here for a really, long, wordy TUTOR TUESDAY! This week we take a look at drawing characters that are interacting. If you need help with anatomy here are a few tutorials: legs, arms/legs, necks, and here is a previous tutorial on poses. If you have any tutorial suggestions send ‘em in here or my personal. Now go forth and I’ll see you next week!

Umm, Can you give any Advice or tips for drawing the body and poses, because i'm very bad at those. ^^"
The basis of my understanding of figures are from fashion sketching (which are extremely elongated figures; my fashion figures were generally 10 heads tall), so while I’m not the most qualified person to ask, I’ll give it a shot!
The body is just several shapes put together. There are some lines you can distinguish to make the drawing process a little easier. I always always always map out a rough sketch of the pose before I draw the clothed figure.
When drawing poses, you can use your guidelines to help you find where everything goes. In fashion figures, there is almost always a high hip, so I always find which way the hip and shoulders are going first.
Take my tips with a grain of salt. I’m still learning, and this isn’t necessarily right or accurate, it’s just how I draw. I do enjoy giving tips, though, so thank you for asking!
What are some good basics of drawing a body? And bodies in motion?
I’ve got one in my drafts apparently lmao I’ll post it now and you should seek out my poses tag for reference for bodies in motion
I just spent an hour on your blog and !!! I love it, this is SO HELPFUL
thank you ! I’m glad I can help :)
I stumbled upon the tip to use 3 elliptic forms to shape the arm. They simplify the deltoid, the biceps/triceps section and the forearm muscles. My next post will cover the details of the biceps and triceps section.
