Love Simon on Disney+
Everything we know:
Michael Cimino will play Victor a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. Victor is described as “closeted, really cute, athletic, well-liked, and warm-hearted.” He’s also a high school soccer star.
George Sears will play Benji, Victor’s classmate and love interest, who’s described as being “super-cute hipster dreamboat with perfectly messy hair and perfectly ripped jeans and so dreamy that it looks like he’s moving in slow-motion.” Benji is also out of the closet and totally at ease with his sexuality.
Ana Ortiz plays Isabel, Victor’s smart and warm mother who loves her husband and her family, but is under a lot of pressure as they move their family across the country. James Martinez is Armando, Victor’s regular blue collar “guy’s guy” father who loves his family deeply and works hard for his family. Isabella Ferreira plays Pilar, Victor’s sullen younger sister in the throws of teenage angst.  Mateo Fernandez will play Adrian, Victor’s adorable, good-natured little brother.
Rounding out the cast will be Victor’s other classmates. Johnny Sequoyah as Mia, Victor’s whip-smart friend with a quick wit and easy laugh. Bebe Wood as her quirky and social media-obsessed best friend, Lake. Anthony Turpel as Felix, Victor’s lanky, awkward new neighbor. And Mason Gooding as Andrew, Creekwood’s cocky and popular basketball-loving jock.
Nick Robinson, who starred in the original Love, Simon film, will also produce and narrate the series. Victor will reach out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.
The Love Simon series begins production in LA this month and is expected to air on Disney+ in 2020. While the episode count is still unknown they will be half an hour in length. I will do my best to keep everyone updated if any new information is released.
