hc: violence

i don’t think anyone would be surprised to know that simon has never thrown a punch. he doesn’t really believe in violence for the most part, he tends to at least try to solve all of his problems with words (although that doesn’t always work, s/o to simon’s past bullies!). he also doesn’t know how to fight, because once again, he’s a bit of a pacifist so he’s never really tried to learn. he doesn’t tend to really like violence in general either, like he’s fine watching it in movies for the most part but even gratuitous gore and violence in films makes him uncomfortable to see on screen. for the most part simon doesn’t think that violence is ever really necessary, and he will always argue against it, but considering his parents jobs he understands that violence is just a part of reality if that makes sense.

“sc-- scout? oh... he’s... really nice. um, he-um, we have english together, and i- we met through that not long after he came to town. well, not--... not exactly, i um, i saw him in class, but i never.... talked to him until, he, um, kind of ran me over. with his body! not his car-- and oh god, not his body, not like that! like he was running, and he ran into me, and we fell, and i was okay, and he was okay, and that was how we met and after that we decided to become friends! because, you know, he’s new, and he--... he didn’t really know a lot of people in town, which is understandable, cause he’s... he’s new. and... it’s been really nice! being his friend, even though he-- he really is, way too cool to be my friend. he--he’s on the baseball team and he’s--... tall and really nice and... unrealistically good looking, and i honestly don’t know what he’s doing talking to me ninety nine percent of the time, but for some reason he does! or at least i think he does! half the time i’m not even sure it’s really happening, this can all be just a long term hallucination, you know?” @sticknpcke

the first person to come to mind is zoe. simon isn’t a particularly violent person at all so kill might be a bit of an exaggeration, but he loves his sister and never wants to see her hurt, so he is kind of protective of her in his own way. second person to come to mind is mateo, and again simon isn’t a very violent person, but if mateo ever needed him simon would do his best to be there for mateo as much as he’s been there for him, because he’s never really had someone stick up for him as much as mateo does. @ofdreamer @goldblcd

honestly, it’s incredibly hard for simon to get to the point where he hates anybody, so the only answer i can give for this is donald trump. honestly simon’s expression sours the moment the man is so much as mentioned, and he will genuinely rant about him for at LEAST ten uninterrupted minutes if you let him. 

that said,,, this would lowkey be a fun connection to have so if anyone out there is willing to let simon hate their muse hmu!

a longing simon tends to be an open heart tbh. a lot of lingering gazes, a lot of daydreaming, a lot of trying to keep his hopes realistic and failing. simon is naturally very emotional, like he really tries to be logical 99% of the time but his heart has more control over him than his mind and when he’s longing the two kind of battle for dominance. he tends to sneak a lot of glances, and he blushes easily so he’s fire engine red every time he’s caught. a longing simon is a whole mess basically.  he just tends to pine in silence from afar.

hc + dealing with pain / an injury !

omg simon is surprisingly a trooper when it comes to dealing with pain or injuries mostly because he never wants to worry anyone ever. i have a headcannon that once when he was younger simon and his class went on a field trip to a farm. while the teacher was talking and giving a lesson a horse stepped on simon’s foot. he was like MAYBE ten and yet simon politely raised his hand, waited until the teacher was finished speaking and called on him, all to tell her that there was an adult horse stepping on his foot. of course simon was in immense pain the whole time, but him??? interrupt a teacher??? unthinkable sdksdk. so yeah, every time simon gets injured he tends to kind of try to figure things out himself, and deal with everything himself, which is the last thing he should be doing. when he’s in pain he tends to just try and deal with it unless it’s unbearable you know? he’s also, lowkey, kind of a bit scared of doctors so if he can deal with his pain without having to go to the doctor for it (even if he should!) he will dkjsdjk.

hc + nightmares

oof, okay so after simon has a nightmare he can’t go back to sleep. like once he’s up he’s up, and he’s too freaked to sleep. so he just tends to get up and try to distract himself. a lot of the time he turns to school work and just pulls an all nighter, other times he gets himself some tea and starts watching voltron legendary defender like skjsdkj whatever it takes to get his mind off things, because a lot of the times when simon has nightmares he really needs to be comforted like??? you can BET when he was younger he was that kid who snuck into his parents room to sleep in between them, but now that he’s older and that isn’t an option, he just tries to comfort himself. sometimes some of his friends might find messages from simon in the middle of the night just cause he can’t sleep anymore, and it’s anything from memes, to sleep deprived rambles, to like tentative requests to call them (IF he’s comfortable enough with them, but not often because simon is always worried about inconveniencing people) and i think most of the armstrong household is pretty used to hearing simon walk around the house in the middle of the night cause like i said this boy has nightmares like every other day cause he’s Stressed but yeah okay i’mma stop, that’s simon in the aftermath of a nightmare.

4. How easy is it to anger your muse?

oh my god... it is so, so, so, so hard to get simon angry, like he is so mild mannered that he gets actually angry like maybe twice a year IF THAT. he can get annoyed yeah, or exasperated, but actually angry??? unlikely tbh. 

10. Does your muse have nightmares? What about?

oof, simon’s nightmares tend to be focused on failure tbh, either he’s flunking out of school, not getting into harvard, meeting president obama in his underpants, etc. he also tends to have a recurring dream of being stung by a million bees, which is terrifying because he’s allergic to bees, so yeah. simon has nightmares often tbh, like more often than he has normal dreams, hence why he hates sleeping.

9. What is one thing that would break your muse?

for simon he is honestly easily broken by the people around him. i would say that people he trusts hurting him breaks him but honestly simon is way too forgiving, his heart is soft, if someone hurts him a hundred times he will forgive them one hundred and one so i think i’m going to say abandonment would really break him? someone he cares for and trusts just leaving him would really break him, because he is constantly afraid he’s going to lose people anyways. also, failing someone who’s counting on him tbh, or disappointing people who care about him. and hurting someone he cares about oof that would break simon to pieces too.
